I once got water intoxication and it was one of the scariest moments in my life. Somehow i felt so thirsty after a long and active day that i drank at least 5 litres of water in one hour and i had already had maybe 1.5-2 litres earlier that day already. My whole body and head ached and all i could do is lie in bed and peed as often as i could. After about 4-5 hours of that i started to feel better finally. All i could think during that was "well this would be a silly way to die"
@SlixQC It started at around 9pm and i thought about going to the hospital but i chose to rest and eat salty snacks. Peeing completely clear means you're drinking a little bit too much water, that or it passed through you really fast. Which is common with a UTI that makes you feel like you have to pee every 10 or so minutes, yet only pass small amounts. So if you're experiencing UTI symptoms along with it, see a doctor.

This happened to an 80 yr old friend of mine. He used to walk for miles with the dogs everyday and lived in a hot country and consumed around 4 litres of water a day. Sorry for you loss. Im not a doctor but 3l of water per day doesnt seem to be that much, as narrator in video said kidneys can filter 800-1000 ml of water per hour, so intoxication can mostly happen if you drink 2-3l of water in an hour or less.

This only applies to distilled water. If you eat salty french fries alongside drinking water, your kidneys can very quickly filter out the water/salt solution - all it has to do is just start literally dumping water into the bladder which is incredibly easy.
The part that is most confusing is that someone can drink like more than 15 bottles of beer and still be fine and alive but someone can drink 3 gallons of water and then die

I drink a little over two gallons of water a day... over the course of 15 to 16 hours. That's about 17oz or 18oz of water an hour on average so I'm in the safe zone, especially considering that I enjoy salty snacks to keep my sodium in check
800-1000ml of water / hr. Is that definitely correct? I'll often (if I have a big bottle of water) drink 2 litres of juice/water in about 30-45 mins so now I'm worried.
That cell looked soo relaxed. Also it's important to keep up nighttime fluid intake bc your brain is a battery, I use apples for nighttime hydration plus water/Clear Excallance. Diet soda is ok. If we gulped a big amount of water (quickly) do inpurities go to the bladder and kidneys? How we stop that and prevent this happen after we have done this? Is drinking more water but slowly that time solving the problem? Will my bladder and kidneys have issues if I ate something unhealthy and it has to come out?
What about People that have Epilepsy, they are always thirsty,My daughter will drink all day if I let her I count how much I give her usually 6 to 7full glasses of juice or water per day she's 18...
It involves the process of osmosis where the water molecules move from an area of higher concentration to lower concentration through a semi permeable membrane that can be found in cells. Water molecules move into an area where the concentration of solvent/water is low so they can equalize it. Meaning that area has a huge amount of solute. Take an egg for example. When the egg is placed in water it will bloat. Just like the cell in this video. Water molecules move into egg's cell to equalize the concentration because egg contains solute(salt). Same as for dehydration. When the egg is placed in a hypertonic solution (huge amout of solute) it will shrink. Water from egg's cell will move into the solution to also equalize it.
Anything can be toxic in excess amounts. This includes water. Hypernatremia is when sodium and other electrolyte contents reaches levels too low. This is frequently seen in runners who over-hydrate for a race. There is no official guideline in terms of how much water to drink for runners.
I might’ve had a mild version of this last night, I drank a ton of water in a short amount of time to clear food pieces from my mouth (I like to get rid of food pieces in my mouth before brushing my teeth if I did eat right before the planned time, as seeing the food pieces from my mouth in the sink is gross as hell ngl) and I got nauseous, my thinking seemed to be alright though I also experienced period-like cramping and a mild, come and go headache I had to pee very often (every minute or two, sometimes a few) and my pee was awfully clear. I laid down and didn’t drink water and eventually the nausea began to get better and I began to pee less, i woke up the following morning and my pee was yellow, and I got myself to drink water again like 8/9 hours later as I felt thirsty I never ended up throwing up, just nausea Im still a bit worried though

Great information 👍🏻
My dad’s doctor actually told him he was drinking to much water. He has Diabetes so they do blood tests on him every now and then and they noticed (I think it was sodium but I don’t remember tbh) was super low and the doctor told him to stop drink so much water.
Did your dad require hospitalization from this?
seriously almost passed out from 8 cups of water this morning ... and wasnt eating much salt. now i know why! this is am amazing video
U ok now?
If you drink when you're thirsty you're already dehydrated.
That's not how it works
who nows drinks 8 cups a day using a measuring glass
I feel like I've drank way too much water today, literally my stomach hurts
Uhhhhhh so that’s why I had headaches after drinking 7 cups.
Uh no
Don't drink so much water it's dangerous
I experienced water intoxication yesterday. I had a bad headache, vomited once and felt dizzy, weak, and extremely tired.
How much did it take
UPDATE, in case anyone wonders if anyone has died to it: 2 days ago in Sweden (Kronoberg) a patient died from water intoxication, in combination with wrong treatment once arrived the hospital. Because of wrong treatment, it took longer time to remove the excess water from the patient and thus the body shut down. Region Kronoberg has made lex maria report for this.
I drink a little over two gallons of water a day... over the course of 15 to 16 hours.
That's about 17oz or 18oz of water an hour on average so I'm in the safe zone, especially considering that I enjoy salty snacks to keep my sodium in check
That's mad fam
I drank 5 bottles of water in about an hour :/ WELP IM GOING TO DIE SOON
U still alive?

No more water, got it!👍
Yes,let's drink my SALIVA!!!!!!
So we will die of either water i
ntoxication or from dehydration...great lol
Wait what
No you need 2 liters of water a day.
@@mariafe7050 everyone knows that
800-1000ml of water / hr. Is that definitely correct? I'll often (if I have a big bottle of water) drink 2 litres of juice/water in about 30-45 mins so now I'm worried.
Bruh
If you keep drinking that amount every hour through the day you might feel bad, but otherwise you'll be fine
It also depends on your weight.
XYZIO I don't believe that is the case, not if you're reasonably healthy and you otherwise have breaks without drinking throughout the day
Isnt it 3 litres? A woman drank three litres in a short amount of time and slowly died. Her husband tried everything to get her help
Dee: WATER?!? Almost everyone in this class are sleeping and 2 people over there in the back are crying!

Mom: water is good for you!
Me: drinks too much water and dies
Mom: what have I done
It's the mom's fault because she should tell you to not drink too much water as well

That cell looked soo relaxed. Also it's important to keep up nighttime fluid intake bc your brain is a battery, I use apples for nighttime hydration plus water/Clear Excallance. Diet soda is ok.
Low sugar/sodium/protien is better for your health anyway. I have S3KD- kidney diabetes- it's so rare t h at ppl think its sugar one, but no.
Cell: Refill water tank in Rm 3
Renal cell: Im trying to fill the fiteration tank, it's stopped up.
Be sure to fill vending machine on your way out. It's lacking in Excellance fruit.
Me: grabbed 64 fluid Oz. Bottle
Although water can be my best friend in keeping me alive,I have to be very cautious about it too!😧
Hmmm ok...
**drinks water while watches**
I've experienced this and luckily I didn't die or go into a coma or get brain damage (or maybe I went threw the brain damage idk) but if I went threw the coma, I would be happy but not happy at the same time, I'll be happy because NO SCHOOL, No veggies, No exercise, I'll be sad because No food, No juice, No water, I wouldn't be able to see my dogs, my family (even though they could be the pain in the butt I love them still) No besties😭(even though I haven't seen them in over 7 months)
And I'm only 12

Water: Am I a joke to you?
Everything can be poisonous if eaten/drink too much
I concluded when you are thirsty, you should drink enough.but I never feel thirsty then I try to drink more because training increases need to drink.this make my muscles bigger

Theophrastus von Hohenheim (Parcelsus)
I don't forget the name because Hohenheim reminds me of Full Metal Alchemist
Meaning me and the bois who used to have competitions over who can finish their water the fastest are already dead?
If we gulped a big amount of water (quickly) do inpurities go to the bladder and kidneys? How we stop that and prevent this happen after we have done this? Is drinking more water but slowly that time solving the problem? Will my bladder and kidneys have issues if I ate something unhealthy and it has to come out?
What about People that have Epilepsy, they are always thirsty,My daughter will drink all day if I let her I count how much I give her usually 6 to 7full glasses of juice or water per day she's 18...
What happens when you drink to much water?
Me: you pee
"What do you think of when I say poison"

Anything can be toxic in excess amounts. This includes water. Hypernatremia is when sodium and other electrolyte contents reaches levels too low. This is frequently seen in runners who over-hydrate for a race. There is no official guideline in terms of how much water to drink for runners.
I might’ve had a mild version of this last night, I drank a ton of water in a short amount of time to clear food pieces from my mouth (I like to get rid of food pieces in my mouth before brushing my teeth if I did eat right before the planned time, as seeing the food pieces from my mouth in the sink is gross as hell ngl) and I got nauseous, my thinking seemed to be alright though
I also experienced period-like cramping and a mild, come and go headache
I had to pee very often (every minute or two, sometimes a few) and my pee was awfully clear. I laid down and didn’t drink water and eventually the nausea began to get better and I began to pee less, i woke up the following morning and my pee was yellow, and I got myself to drink water again like 8/9 hours later as I felt thirsty
I never ended up throwing up, just nausea
Im still a bit worried though
You alive?
