I believe fruit juice drinks in hawker centres are expensive due to the 'fresh' state of the fruits and vegetables, cost of the fruits and vegetables and it can also be because they don't use preservatives so some fruits may also be thrown away.
It's at second level or something go right up from the escalator. They sort of retained the "hawker centre" which was part of a carparking building when they demolished and built this Capital Spring@@JayandKarolina
Regarding the comparative difference between the roasted meat rice and beverages- it’s not that the latter is more expensive, but the meat-rice dishes are really cheap. Given the state of inflation, it is a wonder that the roasted meat stall owners manage to sell their dishes at such low price

We really like the Hawker Centres culture, so whenever possible, we always try to discover the best spots beloved by the locals 👀❤️😋
@JayeshChhaya there are lots of hawker centres in SG, you can travel to those off the central areas to try. As for your card, not sure if you should check with your bank.
The area around Sultan Mosque is now populated by Arabic restaurants and shops. Indeed the streets in the area are named after places in the Middle East such as Muscat Lane after the capital of Oman, Baghdad Street after the capital of Iraq, Bussorah Street and Subhan Street after cities in Iran, Kandahar Street after a city in Afghanistan and Aliwal Street after a city in Punjab. Of course Punjab isn’t in the Middle East but then neither is Bali. Bali Lane is one down from Haji Lane. Of course there is Arab Street too. The actual Sultan’s Palace (or Istana in Malay) is across Kandahar Street from the mosque. It now houses the Malay Hertiage Centre. The area was the epicentre of Malay royalty in Singapore and it is no surprise that due to the royal mosque, it is also the centre of things Muslim too. Over time, other Muslim eateries started up there too like the Turkish and Lebanese restaurants which weren’t so predominant when I wasn’t a kid. Other old-time shops associated with Arab traders such as the carpet shops, spice shops, non-alcoholic perfume shops, etc, still remain but in smaller numbers.
This is so interesting! We thought it just happened naturally over the years that Kampong Glam became more friendly for Muslim/Middle Eastern people but would never sat that even Malay royalty used to live there. Thank you so much Melvin for sharing it with us 🙏
@@JayandKarolina When Raffles set out his plan for Singapore in the early 1800s, each community had their own areas, leading to what is Chinatown, Little India, the Malay areas of Geylang and Arab Street. Today, the government is doing the exact opposite by mandating that every housing estate should reflect the national ethnic proportions and thus would prevent racial enclaves or neighbourhoods. This may dilute the ethnic identity of certain areas, but for a small and diverse country, prevents the us-vs-them problems that may arise if people just congregated according to race. Also, such racial isolation would prevent exposure and understanding of other cultures. Glad you’re enjoying Singapore.
Hey, thanks for sharing the old embassy at Nassim rd. My friend from secondary school (back in the 80s) used to live with her family at the quarters (her father was the gardener there). Your video suddenly reminds me of her.
my strategies for coping with the heat, that even some of my fellow locals miss out on ;) : 1. wear thin shirts and sandals/slippers, I even go commando if I am not with people 2. frequently put water on my face, neck, arms and legs (water from water bottle or shopping malls' washroom). On certain big event, freeze water/drink bottle into ice, wrapped in newspaper /towel to absorb moisture; and when you are out, remove the newspaper/towel and touch the cold surface to feel cold, and drink it later. 3. always have an umbrella in my bag, use it if shade/shelter is not available 4. always have a flapping fan in my bag
Singapore transport is $1-$3. Food at hawkers is $3-$10. Many attractions are free. A lot of my friends come to SG and actually end up being under budget. 😂
For the train and bus fares in Singapore, if you are using a Credit Card or Debit Bank Card like in your case, the fare amount paid and card balance will not be made visible at the point when you tap the card on the reader. The only way to see the fare amount paid and the card balance immediately upon tapping the card is to either use an EZ-Link (pronounced as 'Easy Link') Card or a NETS FlashPay Card.
We used the EZ-Link cards during our previous visit to Singapore but for some super weird reason after weeks of the second trip, we haven't received any statement to our account 😳 It's really strange since people say to us we will receive it with. delay of couple of days, but after a month it's still noting haha
@@JayandKarolina Maybe you will need to buy the EZ-Link Card that the local Singaporeans use for bus and train. You might have bought and used the EZ-Link Card for foreigners or tourists.
Xie xie. Terima Kasih. Nanri. Thank You Jayesh & Your Charming Wife ( Sorry, I don't know Her name.🙏🏼) for sharing this video. Hope both of you enjoy the rest of your stay in Singapore 🇸🇬. 👍🏻👏🏼🙏🏼❤
Holland drive market is known as one of those morning market where the shops served mostly the morning n afternoon working lunch crowd. This is why most of the shops are closed when you were there.
That’s what we thought! But when had done our research, it was not super clear that the majority of the stalls would be closed later on during the day😅 We got lucky because that duck/pork rice were just delicious 🤤❤️
My last visit I stayed at Bugis Rest Hotel in Kampong Glam (Bugis MRT station) near Masjid Sultan. A bit more than the hostels, but not by much, not too far from the MRT, and near all the fun on Arab St.
There are some "Asian" spots in Kampong Gelam, like Malay and Indonesian food, but not right by the Turkish spots. There is Japanese right there, though, close to the Masjid.
I can explain why they charge drink as high as the food you order. Sometimes when food is really cheap, seller won't make much money from it so they took a lot more profit from your drinks. It's just a marketing subsidizing profit technique. Nothing fancy tbh. We do it quite a lot in Indonesia as well.😅
In England/Poland where we come from the sellers are cheeky too 😅 It just sometimes feels weird that you pay the same for both food and drink but I guess this is a common technique to make profits!
@@JayandKarolina it's already pretty common lately with current economic challenges occurred here and there. Hopefully, it'll get better soon or else we'll see a lot more difficulties in upcoming years.
Candidly it’s not easy to do but all in all I did enjoying your many videos. I do wish you two continuing on your journey of traveling, show the the world how beautiful places and food cultures be
I can see the point you were trying to make showing how inexpensive Singapore can be & your right it can be for most of your time spent there that's why it does upset me when people do say how expensive it can be but that is only in certain aspects saying that I was cheated using the mrt once. I'm in Singapore for a two night stopover in just 6 days time & no way will I be on a budget still I'm going to explore the night-life. Just one more thing when you showed your water bottle which I assume was between you both I was surprised that's all you had I personally would carry at least 3 of them all for me in a place like Singapore. Thanks for video
I totally agree! How you CHOOSE to spend your time in Singapore is determined by your budget 🙌 There is no better or worse option, only a difference in approach. Yes, we should definitely drink more fluids - Karolina always remembers it, but I only do it when I see a 7-11 in the distance 😅 Thanks for watching and enjoy your time on SG! 🇸🇬
Hi Jayesh & Karolina! Well wishes and greetings from the U.S.! I absolutely love your channel and the uplifting spirit you both have. I’m planning a trip to Vietnam in the coming month or so. Currently, I plan on staying for a month. My journey will start in HCMC (5-7 days) and I’ll be staying in Thao Dien D2. Any must do’s that you’d suggest? After that, I will stay the remainder of my time in Nha Trang. Thanks for your advice and safe and fun travels to you both! 😊
Oh and P.S. Do you think 1K for the month would be sufficient for a solo traveler who is already pretty frugal? Thanks again! And thank you both for creating great content and helping to inspire us all!
Hey! Thank you for the thoughtful comment :) The typical touristy stuff you can do in a few days but I would definitely venture to different districts to experience Saigon in its fullest (district 1 is tourist central, 2 is where you are staying, 4/5/7 are worth exploring). I’d recommend the XO foodie motorbike tour which we made a video on!
That budget should be more than enough in Vietnam! If you don’t do too many tourist group stuff you’ll be fine 👍 You are frugal so you’ll likely eat mostly local food which is cheap and super tasty!
Juices processed using fresh fruits are dearer than syrup blend ones naturally. You pay for what you get Maybe you go other touristy destinations you might not get fresh ingredients. Singapore is reliable for freshness
Great location but not really great for pure rest. Budget moreover cannot complaint. Maybe Chinatown hostels or capsules ones more serene at night also depending
I'm a Singaporean and i did not know $2.50/$3 roast meat dishes still exist! So I gotta go try the stall someday. Looking forward to your next visit to our Sunny Island and your adventures in exploring more Singaporean food! Take care and stay safe.
Absolutely! Our pleasure! We will be for sure back in the near future 😊 Believe us, if it was easier, we would be seriously thinking about moving in - that's the real proof how we love SG 🇸🇬
I am fron Nepal. When i was there in singapore for almost 3 years, i found Singapore is very expensive and relatively cheap depending on the places you visit and shop. Singapore treats well whether you look for expensive or cheap.
Visa or master cards are charged a lump sum once a week after it collates all the transport charges. Its probably only a few dollars so it might go unnoticed. It might differ from credit cards and debit cards.
Visa cards = pending transaction posted a day after the trip. Mastercards = collated into a lump sum transaction within 7 days or when the transaction amount is more than SGD$15
Interestingly, you peered through the gates of 28 Nassim Road (where you worried about security being on your tail). That happens to be Eden Hall, the residence of the British High Commissioner. It is occasionally open like during the coronation of Charles III. It has a plaque inside reading “May the Union Jack fly here forever”.
Tudor Court where you walked by was built in the 1920s to serve as quarters for civil servants, is an example of this colonial-era architectural style. In 1970, Tudor Court was officially opened by then Minister for Finance Hon Sui Sen as the headquarters of the former Singapore Tourism Promotion Board (STPB, now Singapore Tourism Board)
Thank you so much for sharing! It’s actually a perfect location for the STB 😍👌 Maybe it would be possible to have some sort of a partnership with them in the future 🙏
@@JayandKarolina you want to partnership with STB? When you are back in London, there is a newly opened Singapore hawker cafe in London, promoting Singapore hawker food and stuff made in Sg.
Actually you should go to a 7-11. Yes the 'usual price' of the drinks are much higher, but they always have offers for drinks, even the bottle ones, that are $1, which is cheaper than vending machines. Not all 7-11 will have offers. But the hack really is to check 7-11s first
We loved it the first time and felt like 3 days wasn’t enough to really get the feel of the local culture and people’s lives 😇 So we decided to come back for a few more days before heading back to Europe!
Did you spot the small wording behind the Singapore $2 note “EDUCATION”? Hawker Food is a unique strategy to inculcate inclusiveness, multiculturalism, and ethnic harmony in presenting our affordable hawker food for locals and tourists alike. There is education, no less. Also, thank you for featuring the return of your tray. Like your exuberance approach in all your productions. Tea Tarik is my favorite too.❤
We actually haven't seen it, but it totally make sense! We feel like just coming to Singapore opens up your eyes how harmoniously different cultures and people's from different backgrounds can coexist. It's truly impressive 🙏 The Tarik rules 😋
What time did you reach Holland Drive and was it a weekday or weekend? They are most crowded on weekdays with the office workers having lunch there. Hence some stalls may rest on weekends. Some stalls only sell for the lunch etc. As for the soya bean drink, if you don't see the stall displaying the tank of drink at the front, means they don't sell them fresh or have sold out.
Monday and after lunch time is double whammy LOL! You guys really know how to choose the "right timing" to visit a hawker. FYI most hawker stalls choose to rest on Mondays and wet markets don't sell pork on Mondays.@@JayandKarolina
Those houses at Tanglin goes for around $30 - 80 million. LOL. There are just a few thousand of those in Singapore. Out of a million households, that's how exclusive they are.
We met in 2019 during a summer job in London 🇬🇧 So cool! Great to hear that you’ve based yourself in Poland because I’m sure must be enjoying it - little hint: our next series is 🇲🇨😄😄😄
Hmm seeing the road sign when you said Museat Street (because it looks like it) is making me want to go there tomorrow to confirm that the sign does not say that. It's Muscat Street (Muscat being the capital of Oman). Not sure if you noticed that the street names there are names of middle eastern cities ... Kandahar Street (Afghanistan), Baghdad and Bussorah Streets (Iraq)
Haha.. the girl recommends JB, yeah but other than eating and shopping, what else is there? Maybe full body maintenance, manicure, perm your hair, plenty of foot massage
As for the ice-cream, the uncle will give you a plastic bag by default. I think it is because of the camera, he decided to put the ice-cream into the plastic bag. Most local ice-cream uncles won't put the ice-cream into the bag for you. They will pick out a plastic bag and put the ice-cream on the unopened plastic bag, so plastic bag is more like a plastic sheet that you hold onto while eating the ice-cream.
Hi Jayesh, Singaporean here. Vending machines are ok, but there are two ways to even further optimise your drinks budget Cheaper: - instead of vending machines, get your drink from the supermarket or the thrift shop (these are usually located in the heartlands). Usually cheaper 25-50%. Extremely cheapskate option: - bring your own water bottle and refill them in the family care rooms of the malls 😂
I can see the effects of the super hot weather from the video 😂, and the weather isn’t getting any cooler for the rest of March here. I literally gave up and just spent my entire Saturday in the AC. It’s funny cause when you’re in a super cold climate, you want the warmth, but when you’re in a place like Singapore, you suddenly want back the cold 😂 Probably somewhere in between would be the best.
So true! We’ve been to Singapore during “summer” and “winter” times and actually the weather was pretty much the same: hot and humid 😂👌 It’s nice though that the whole year around you can expect the sunny days 🌞
There was so many good food courts and so little time! We’ve already been twice to Singapore but will definitely come back to explore more of its parts because we simply loved it 😍🇸🇬 Thanks for the recommendations!
Singaporeans are friendly but they value their boundaries as well, so I hope you can be more considerate to them! Like asking the gentleman at the reception to repeat what he said for the camera (he's working and does not have to accommodate to your request just for your personal content), or entering people's hawker stalls (like you did in another video), might seem like trivial things to you, but they may seem a little inconsiderate! Other than that, love your positive attitude! :)
I got a sense from the gentlemen at reception that he was happy to help us and was enjoying being on camera that’s why I didn’t mind. We always ask if we can enter hawker stalls we don’t just walk in - we are respectful people! Thank you :)
Honestly, I would even believe it if you said you have a lot of stomach problems when you traveled in Indonesia. I think I gotta sell spicy food here with banana milk to ease ppl stomach. At least, it'll help you momentarily until you what's coming in the afternoon.😂 I'm not that surprised tbh. Different diets, climate, and environment can affect your health as well. Not just food. I got it a lot when I went on holiday, mostly food tour tho, but you have to count me out bc I can eat 5-10x a day on holiday.😅
That's so true! It's probably the combination of different factors 🤪 But for some reason I wouldn't expect to get sick from food in Singapore... However, biology doesn't lie to us so something definitely did upset my stomach hahahaha
@@JayandKarolina food safety is good but biological reaction sometimes goes South. Like my relationship with yogurt based product even though I have no problem with another dairy products.😅
😂😂😂 Right! We actually learned it by ourselves because in Europe some people like to put sugar in the teas/coffees but we prefer them drinks not to be sweet haha
Singaporeans don’t really like to be filmed. Some mind it more than others. We just usually choose to ignore, if not confronted. And as with all places, some people are nicer, some are not. That explains the aggressive guy. Given the location and you weren’t giving him biz, testosterone took over. Kampong Glam/Arab Street/Haji Lane is a tourist and hipster place, successfully redeveloped maybe 20-30 years ago? It wasn’t like this all the time. And because it’s a traditional Muslim place with the mosque, you get similar type of Muslim middle eastern restaurants. Singapore is a very expensive place. Of course there are cheap places as well but these are rare. If you are traveling, don’t mind a budget experience especially since it’s simply a holiday experience in a different country, then one can research and be disciplined and do what you did. But if you live here, need to go about your day, then you probably will start finding it expensive in not replicating what you did on a daily basis. The roast meats stall you found is truly exceptional for the price and quantity…..kudos to you. Drinks-wise, it’s really getting expensive, like everything else. Some are trying to earn more as is usually the case in Singapore while others are forced to price up due to rental, usually in coffee shops. There are still reasonable prices around, for now, but you probably need to be local in that neighborhood even, to know. For mid-level drinks pricing, head to supermarkets and thrift shops like ABC/Valueshop. JB is cheap for those capitalizing on exchange rates. To the locals it’s getting very expensive. I go to JB often and have seen prices going up a lot. Think the locals are feeling the pinch too. Having said that, there are places that are still quite cheap because tourists and Singaporeans don’t go there.
Thanks for sharing all your thoughts 🙏 VERY USEFUL! Considering that we’ve switched the countries quite frequently, it became more transparent for us which nations value their privacy rights (e.g., South Korea, Poland) whereas Singaporean seemed way more chill when filming 😉 But I agree that in countries like Malaysia or Indonesia people are way more opened for the camera! We were super happy with the duck/pork rice dishes we got because being totally honest, it was the very first time we had a meal for $2/3 SGD 😳 Normally the price varies between $5-8 SGD. It’s not a surprise that JB becomes more expensive because 1) people who come there for Singapore would pay for it anyways 2) inflation 😂 It’s probably going to level up to the prices in Singapore!
A general rule of thumb for Singapore local fruit juice stalls is that they don't put sugar to the fruit juice drinks that they sell. Any sweetness from the fruit juice drink is the natural sweetness that comes from the fruit itself.
@@JayandKarolina So in Singapore, you won't need to tell the fruit juice uncle 'no added sugar or don't add sugar'. The fruit juice uncle will know by default. The only special request that you must tell them when ordering is if you want 'Less Ice' or 'No Ice' in your fruit juice. 'Less Ice' or 'No Ice' will incur extra charges though. If I remember correctly, 'No Ice' will cost an extra $1, so if a particular fruit juice drink costs $3, the fruit juice drink with 'No Ice' will cost $4.
Oh no you took Imodium. I text you in early video try not to put the chopsticks or fork/spoon on top the tray and table surface is not that clean actually. Feel sorry for you.
that loser @ 37:00 totally ruined the vibe but the restaurant opposite, kampong glam cafe (which appears to be closed in the video) is my go-to malay food if i happen to be around the area because it’s very cheap! and the food is soooo good. and yes i agree with janelle @ 48:10. not only it’s cheaper there, the food is better imo 😂
It’s not museat street 😂😂. It’s Muscat if referring to the capital of Oman or muscat a grape variety. That really cracked me up😂😂😂😂 Edit. Someone already pointed this out. But it cracked me up enough to comment on this.
if you are a budget traveler or you don’t have so much money,it’s better don't go to singapore.. choose indonesia, laos or cambodia.. a budget vacation is a stressful vacation..
We actually need to say that it wasn’t stressful at all 😉 The most expensive thing is the accommodation but apart from that the food and a lot of things to do were quite affordable. However, you’re right in a sense that if we wanted to do all the touristy stuff it would add up and couple of days in Singapore would be pretty pricey 👍
Perhaps it is different for everyone. Myself and multiple close friends have been feeling very unwell/sick when we take too much tea/coffee. Had to quit/cut down. Some developed gastric issues so ya.

So happy you guys enjoyed my country! Wishing safe travels 😊🙏
Always happy to be back in Singapore 😍🇸🇬
Thanks for sharing! Very cool! It felt so different from other parts of Singapore, that’s why we wanted to film it 👀🙌
my strategies for coping with the heat, that even some of my fellow locals miss out on ;) :
1. wear thin shirts and sandals/slippers, I even go commando if I am not with people
2. frequently put water on my face, neck, arms and legs (water from water bottle or shopping malls' washroom). On certain big event, freeze water/drink bottle into ice, wrapped in newspaper /towel to absorb moisture; and when you are out, remove the newspaper/towel and touch the cold surface to feel cold, and drink it later.
3. always have an umbrella in my bag, use it if shade/shelter is not available
4. always have a flapping fan in my bag
Don't forget a cap and sunglasses 🕶️
You can get a bad headache if you are under the sun 🌞 too long
True that! The hat always makes a huge difference!!
Such great techniques 🌞👀🙌 Often people tend to forget how important it is to always be prepared for the heat!
Singapore transport is $1-$3. Food at hawkers is $3-$10. Many attractions are free. A lot of my friends come to SG and actually end up being under budget. 😂
That’s so true! We were extremely surprised when we first came 😬 And then there was no other option but just to come back very soon!
13:21 163 is building number on Penang Road. #03 is 3rd floor. 02/03 is unit 02 and 03. 238463 is postal code.
👍🏻👏🏼🙏🏼❤
It's mine and Karolina’s pleasure 😍
All the food looks really good
We literally loved them all 😍🙌
Holland drive market is known as one of those morning market where the shops served mostly the morning n afternoon working lunch crowd. This is why most of the shops are closed when you were there.
That’s what we thought! But when had done our research, it was not super clear that the majority of the stalls would be closed later on during the day😅
We got lucky because that duck/pork rice were just delicious 🤤❤️
I do wish you two continuing on your journey of traveling, show the the world how beautiful places and food cultures be
Thank you so much! We will obviously continue doing what we love the most ❤️ when if sometimes it is quite challenging!
Yes, we should definitely drink more fluids - Karolina always remembers it, but I only do it when I see a 7-11 in the distance 😅
Thanks for watching and enjoy your time on SG!
If you don’t do too many tourist group stuff you’ll be fine 👍
You are frugal so you’ll likely eat mostly local food which is cheap and super tasty!
Juices processed using fresh fruits are dearer than syrup blend ones naturally. You pay for what you get
Maybe you go other touristy destinations you might not get fresh ingredients. Singapore is reliable for freshness
That’s so true! Even if they’re more pricey it’s definitely worth it 😇
It's Bussorah St opposite the sultan mosque Haji Lane is on ur right left is Kandahar St
Great location but not really great for pure rest. Budget moreover cannot complaint. Maybe Chinatown hostels or capsules ones more serene at night also depending
👍👍👍 It all depends on your priorities, right? We wanted to be close to the city centre and MRT in the same time, thus our choice was that one.
I'm a Singaporean and i did not know $2.50/$3 roast meat dishes still exist! So I gotta go try the stall someday. Looking forward to your next visit to our Sunny Island and your adventures in exploring more Singaporean food! Take care and stay safe.
We loved both them dishes 😍 Thanks! Will be back very soon for sure!!!
Thank you for showing a side of Singapore that not everyone is seeing. We can still live on a budget while enjoying nice scenery and delicious food! 😊
Absolutely! Our pleasure! We will be for sure back in the near future 😊 Believe us, if it was easier, we would be seriously thinking about moving in - that's the real proof how we love SG 🇸🇬
Thank you for sharing this video with us ❤brilliant 👍
Thank you for watching! We can continue doing what we love because of your support 😍
@@JayandKarolinamaybe there's a glitch but master n visa never go wrong. The charges will somehow come hahaha
I am fron Nepal. When i was there in singapore for almost 3 years, i found Singapore is very expensive and relatively cheap depending on the places you visit and shop. Singapore treats well whether you look for expensive or cheap.
Totally agree! That’s why we wanted to show a slightly different side of Singapore because most of the people is not aware of it 🙌
@@JayandKarolina I am pretty sure, you have covered the issue very well.
It's strange because since then we haven't received any statements to our accounts 😳
Wow, that’s so interesting! It would be actually super nice to see it from the inside one day! Thanks for sharing 😍🇬🇧
But the hack really is to check 7-11s first
True that! Coke Zero was on the $1 offer when we were in Singapore so it really depends on the timing I believe!
Haji lane and the surrounding areas are all lined up with old buildings.Government preseveres the buildings.
Is Singapore really so good that you returned so quickly?
We loved it the first time and felt like 3 days wasn’t enough to really get the feel of the local culture and people’s lives 😇 So we decided to come back for a few more days before heading back to Europe!
Wow..Great video bro 👍👍
Thank you 👍
Did you spot the small wording behind the Singapore $2 note “EDUCATION”?
Hawker Food is a unique strategy to inculcate inclusiveness, multiculturalism, and ethnic harmony in presenting our affordable hawker food for locals and tourists alike. There is education, no less.
Also, thank you for featuring the return of your tray.
Like your exuberance approach in all your productions.
Tea Tarik is my favorite too.❤
We actually haven't seen it, but it totally make sense! We feel like just coming to Singapore opens up your eyes how harmoniously different cultures and people's from different backgrounds can coexist. It's truly impressive 🙏
The Tarik rules 😋
Google next time for whampoa soy bean stall around Singapore hawker centres. Great fresh soy bean drinks kiosks . Better than canned ones
I love to drink chilled fresh soya bean drinks! Put this one on the list 😍 Thanks!
It was around or even after lunchtime on a random Monday 😅 Maybe that’s why it was quiet!
That’s insane 😳😳😳 We would never thought the mansions there would be THAT expensive ✨
There are always ways to work around it ~ hawker centres, public transport
True! That’s why we wanted to emphasise it once again 😇🙌
Really curious how did you guys meet? 😍 very cute couple!
Me and my boyfriend are Indo- polish couple as well living in Poland.
We met in 2019 during a summer job in London 🇬🇧
So cool!
Sorry! My bad! Sometimes it’s hard to pay attention to all the things around you when vlogging 😅👌
Xamzam restaurant near Haji lane is good yummy Muslim foods
Pints in Singapore are closer to $18 and $20 Singaporean $. You pay a service fee then a tax on top of that. Alcohol is so expensive there.
It’s very expensive indeed!
Houses at Nassim on average cost about 60mil SGD
That’s insane 🤯🤯🤯
You visited the same stalls in Tekka , Dosai n milk tea, can’t resist it… you didn’t try Indian Rojak
Hello sir. Great informative video. Can you please tell which card did you use during travelling via MRT ?
We used just our bank card but you can buy also an EZ-Link card 😇
Haha.. the girl recommends JB, yeah but other than eating and shopping, what else is there? Maybe full body maintenance, manicure, perm your hair, plenty of foot massage
I think that’s exactly what she meant 😄 Buying/using the services whichever you want in JB and then come back and live your life back in SG 🙌
Thanks!
That’s so generous!!! 😍 Thank you so much Phat Lam 🙏 We actually gave you a shout out in one of our Poland videos 👀
I am Singaporean :) thanks for promoting us :)
Our pleasure! We love SG 😊🇸🇬
Yeah, it's quite nice not to get dirty hands to be honest 🤗 I loved that Waffle Ice-Cream!
Hi Jayesh, Singaporean here. Vending machines are ok, but there are two ways to even further optimise your drinks budget
Cheaper:
- instead of vending machines, get your drink from the supermarket or the thrift shop (these are usually located in the heartlands). Usually cheaper 25-50%.
Extremely cheapskate option:
- bring your own water bottle and refill them in the family care rooms of the malls 😂
This is such a budgeted budget idea! 🤫 Thanks for sharing haha!!!
Cool bro his trip,I like it❤️
Regards also from Indonesia for you both ya hehe🥰😇
Glad you enjoy watching and following our journeys along 😍🙌
@@JayandKarolina oke bro,ready👍
JB is not 3.5 cheaper. For a closer comparison it better to say its 2x cheaper. 3.5 is exaggeration...
Great to know! Thanks 🙌
don't really need to dip the bread into eggs....you can just swallow the eggs directly. Bread already got its own favor
We've heard there's different ways of enjoying the Kaya toasts 👀👌
We were once an English colony so u will see those type of shophouses around Sg
Yes! The colonisation efforts are still visible 🤠
I'm a singaporean and I dun even know that there's still $2 roasted pork rice 😮
It was such a hidden gem 👀 And needless to say that it was delicious!!! 🔥
100+ in supermaket just 70cen bindeng merchine expensive and the store.
Old banglo expensive property tax
🫡
Why dont you go food court Easy like Geylang, Bedok or Tampines, Changi many good food
At least, it'll help you momentarily until you what's coming in the afternoon.😂
I'm not that surprised tbh.
Singapore, Australia and Canada have almost the same currency exchange rate..1:1
That's so true! Never been to Canada before but I remember it in Australia 🙌
I still consider Malaysia to be MUCH MUCH cheaper.Singapore's hotels ,food, entertainment places are nearly two to three times more expensive
We would say so too 😇
SimplyGo ….. charge will take at least 2 to 3 days to appear………
Not necessarily so. SimplyGo charges are near instantaneous for me. I get push notifications on my phone seconds after I tap out.
Hope u enjoyed your stay here buddy! Come back soon!
We hope so too! 🥳
The uncle is so cute he wants to know who taught you how to order "kopi-o-kosong".😅
😂😂😂 Right! We actually learned it by ourselves because in Europe some people like to put sugar in the teas/coffees but we prefer them drinks not to be sweet haha
Going up to capita spring is free? Im in correct?
Yes!
Are u doing Gig Hustle vid for Singapore ?🙂
Was thinking of filming one but next videos will be from the UK! 🇬🇧 Hope you will enjoy them too! 😎
Do you had problems with maestro and mastercard cards? After japan we worry everytime😂
We don’t use Maestro but never had issues with the MasterCard :)
Okay lah meaning the taste is So So
Great to know 😬 Thanks for sharing! We really enjoyed speaking to that women haha
"Yeo" drink is local brand
It's crispy pork crackling. It's universally known
My favourite 😍
A general rule of thumb for Singapore local fruit juice stalls is that they don't put sugar to the fruit juice drinks that they sell. Any sweetness from the fruit juice drink is the natural sweetness that comes from the fruit itself.
That's what we love the most - pure natural fruit juices 😍💚
@@JayandKarolina So in Singapore, you won't need to tell the fruit juice uncle 'no added sugar or don't add sugar'. The fruit juice uncle will know by default. The only special request that you must tell them when ordering is if you want 'Less Ice' or 'No Ice' in your fruit juice. 'Less Ice' or 'No Ice' will incur extra charges though. If I remember correctly, 'No Ice' will cost an extra $1, so if a particular fruit juice drink costs $3, the fruit juice drink with 'No Ice' will cost $4.
vending machines drinks are always expensive as compared to supermarkets
That's what I thought too but this time around the vending machines in Singapore were way cheaper than other shops!
You both look like a couple. Does that make sense without being rude on my part?
Yes! We've been together since 2019 🥳
No video for 2 weeks already? What’s happening bro?
Don’t worry we haven’t stopped! I had an accident in the Polish mountains and I’m just recovering right now - plenty more videos on the way 🫡

Oh no you took Imodium.
I text you in early video try not to put the chopsticks or fork/spoon on top the tray and table surface is not that clean actually.
Feel sorry for you.
Maybe actually I got some bacteria because of the cutlery on the trays 😳
that loser @ 37:00 totally ruined the vibe but the restaurant opposite, kampong glam cafe (which appears to be closed in the video) is my go-to malay food if i happen to be around the area because it’s very cheap! and the food is soooo good. and yes i agree with janelle @ 48:10. not only it’s cheaper there, the food is better imo 😂
Loser 😂 I like your comment!
Thanks for sharing! It seems like you can find nice places in Kampong Glam when you know where to look for them 😋
👍👍👍👏👏👏
The travel to JB may not be worth it, if you do not have a car. And the statement may be false.
We would need to investigate it next time then 👀👌
Try not to put the utensils on the tray...the tray is full of bacteria. Trays may be cleaned by reusable cloth.
True that! We’ve actually never paid attention to that when filming which isn’t the best thing to do 😳🙏
It’s not museat street 😂😂. It’s Muscat if referring to the capital of Oman or muscat a grape variety. That really cracked me up😂😂😂😂
Edit. Someone already pointed this out. But it cracked me up enough to comment on this.
Thanks for the info! My bad 🤪🙏
if you are a budget traveler or you don’t have so much money,it’s better don't go to singapore.. choose indonesia, laos or cambodia.. a budget vacation is a stressful vacation..

That’s the whole point! It’s great to hear my friend 😍
I think you might be having too much tea and coffee which will upset your stomach 😢
Should not take any milk if you have stomach upset. Stay away from oily n spicy food as well.
We have 1-2 teas/coffees per day each which I think it’s not bad 😉 We’ve seen people having multiple drinks per day too!
my max is 7 cups per day , average is 3. been going at it for more than 40yrs , no stomachache from the drinks.
Perhaps it is different for everyone. Myself and multiple close friends have been feeling very unwell/sick when we take too much tea/coffee. Had to quit/cut down. Some developed gastric issues so ya.
ya , agreed too much coffee might caused gastric issues for some in the long run.
