Chongqing is built above air raid shelters as well. Up until today you can find these shelters. There's even a mall that was once an air raid shelter. Daytime Chongqing looks even more cyberpunk with the air railways.

Not that intensive. Chongqing looks so largely because it's a city on built on hills and mountains. I have been to Chongqing for twice in recent years and am not quite interested in the buildings. I love that city because of the people and food. They are truly amazing!
That is a super cool video! The timings of some of these shots are amazing. For example at 7:48 when we're zooming out from all the people walking and the subway passes. Really pretty. Also not showing the ground very often is a sweet trick. Makes you feel extra disoriented between the builings. Well done!
This video just made me realize how far behind the West is falling to China. Compared to this my city (Los Angeles, USA) looks like a drooling pile of hot garbage that hasn't been updated since 1980.
China is becoming a massive surveillance state and is also advancing much faster than the west in information technology, AI and biotech. Crazy how Dues Ex predicted this almost 20 years ago.
i mean, it's mostly LED lighting that adds to the effect, but in the day-time this city looks pretty boring. Not to mention the incredibly amount of light pollution it creates, you'd need thick curtains if you wanna get a decent night sleep!

@@Unclejamsarmy I work for a company called career China. First leap specifically. Teaching English. In this field there's plenty of jobs all over China but you need a tefl certification. They help me with accom etc when I get there.
i went to chongqing last year, the first impression is WTF ! this is the city of cyberpunk ! this video its only shows the modern building but doesnt show you the slums (by slum i mean old building) stand in the slum and look up in the red sky, its really feels like in a cyberpunk city.......i took a lot of pictures and stay there for half month. damn COOL !

People always poopoo cities, but I love living in cities. I lived in Tokyo as a boy and then later in Seoul as a teenager, and it was just a magical atmosphere. Rural areas and countryside areas are just boring compared to civilization, populace, and awe-inspiring structures everywhere you go!

Naofumi Iwatani The cyberpunk city exists in Hong-Kong, but no longer, the Chinese government decided to remove that crowded community few years ago, now it's just a park. There was a stronghold built at 13th century, later, at 19th century, British invades China and occupied Hong-Kong, at that point this stronghold was not under control of any government, homeless people moved in to the stronghold and lived there. And then, Hong-Kong was occupied by Japan during the WW2, the stronghold is totally chaos, after WW2 those people in there even formed their own self govern society, and the British government completely abandoned that area of city. The famous Triad gang moves in to "the Kowloon walled city", which is what the stronghold have finally becomes, a massive crowd of buildings connected to each other like a maze or rain forest, till then it's the world of cyberpunk, crowded, lawless, chaos, gangs.
