Significance of Chinnamasta Devi Sadhana [Hindi with English CC]

In this discourse, Om Swami answers a question on Chinnamasta Devi - Her form, significance, and sadhana.
Out of the ten Mahavidya of Devi, there is one Mahavidya whom we call Chinnamasta. In this form, Devi is holding her own severed head in one hand. The story behind Chinnamasta's Devi is that - Once Maa Jagdamba was walking with her two friends Jaya and Vijaya in the forest. After walking for a long time, Jaya and Vijaya said that they were hungry, and wanted Maa to arrange some food. Maa replied that she will arrange some food once they reach any village. But, they did not come across a village for a long time. Jaya and Vijay who got a bit upset and told Maa " You are the one who is the mother of the whole Universe, but what kind of a mother are you, when you are unable to satiate our hunger." Based on what is written in the books, it goes on to say Maa took out her sword and cut off her own head. Three streams of blood started flowing from her severed head. One stream went to Jaya, one to Vijaya and one to Maa's severed head. This is the story behind Chinnamasta Devi.

Also one sad thing is that people sacrificing poor animals for kali ma. No God has asked to sacrifice animals. I heared that krishna said in Geetha that the worst sin in life is the tear coming from a soul which is harmed by others for no fault of that soul. Is sacrificing these animals not a sin ????? As I heared the story of chinnamasta devi where she gave her own blood to jaya and Vijaya but not other animals......
Even if it is a furious god they have been only pacified and calmed down by the love and it is same for everyone. One can't win a god love by sacrificing other living being

Its ugra and dangerous if you are doing it for personal gain i.e. kaam bhavana. But nishkaam sadhana to gain grace of Divine Mother, just to be her child, there is no other roopa or Sadana which is the simplest and effective. Chhinnamasta is the unbridled compassionate form of mother and motherly nature. Only want is to be able to sit in her lap and drink Divine Nectar of Love from her breasts. Nothing else matters.

Chinmasta three heads, self cutting head tells us the immortality drinking the flow of infinite nectar.
Other two heads are universal flows shiva sakthi yin yang etc. God and infinite purity is beyond yin yang. The sexual couple is the union of ida pingala with sushumna like the sandya, leaving duality to ultimate source. These are extraordinary creative methodology of subtle medicinal sciences far beyond to modern science.
