- The question is if I can talk about the ten mahavidyaein. It starts from Maa Kali to Maa kamalatmika. That is the essence of the ten mahavidya. First of all, we should worship Maa Kali. Most of the time the devotees of Mahavidya attain one mahavidya by devoting their entire life. They become so devoted that they see the same Devi in the rest of nine mahavidya. So, it starts from Kali. There is a very simple and beautiful reason behind that if a man can see Maa Kali in a naked woman then in the entire sadhana he will not be defeated by sexual desires and sex is a man’s biggest weakness. A man can win anything, but it is very difficult for him to rise above sexual desires.
It starts with Kali that if a man can see devi in the form which can shock a person and if he can find devi in that form also, then he has gain control over his sexual desires. That is why it is started from Kali , that we should first work on this root cause.

Such true words about काम और काम ! I have never found माँ काली to be वीभत्स or भयानक but very beautiful and loving. Perhaps being born and grown up in Kolkata is the reason. This discourse of swami ji brought profuse tears to my eyes....on the verge of wailing, if I am not careful. Why...is that? I don't understand.
