- The Metrodome was famous for including a heavy schedule of amateur and high school baseball games, Mike Max reports (2:45). High School Sports Rally - April 14, 2017
After the Metrodome, For the Minnesota Twins they played at Target Field and For the Minnesota Vikings they played at U.S. Bank Stadium
until I read the comments I didn't know about all the HS and college baseball going on up there, when that stadium was being built I saw one side of the stands are removable didn't know why until now, seems like a good use of the stadium in the off season
Thought everyone knew BB was also being played at the new dump. I will take our old Metrodome back any day along with the old school carpet for turf. The Twins had a real home field advantage back then.
Is home plate in the same place as the dome?
Nope
On the bright side, I'm guessing the ball doesn't get lost in the ceiling, like it would in the Metrodome.
They couldn't be bothered to remove the football lines?
Would’ve been a lot of work, so probably would’ve driven these teams’ charge through the roof

If they're painted, they could be removed, but not necessary. If they're made from white turf and sewn in, no, they can't be removed easily.
I still call it the metrodome.
But it isn’t, cause it doesn’t have those tiny screens, those poor quality speakers, those narrow concourses, and of course, the inflatable roof in a city that gets hundreds of feet of snow per year
Why don't you just play at target field
I think because the Twins were just starting the season and could not give them they building to play at so they had it there
Johnny Boy it's just that the problem with the Metrodome it was so weird inside because it was a dome and it was unretractable
Baseball season for college and Hs usually starts in February/March. Baseball in MN is usually not super playable until first/second week of april so it's really nice to have an indoor place for them to play for the first couple months.
bigjoe686659 I don't live in Minnesota and I didnt know they had their baseball events in March
Oh yeah. It used to be impossible but the metrodome made it very possible. The dome, they'd have games going till the wee hours of the AM (even starting after twins games got done). And from what I understand, similar happens at the new place. When the new place got built, a part of the deal was this stadium HAD to be baseball tolerant. It doesn't have dirt sliding pits or even mounds, but it's usable for Hs and college teams.
I wish the twins played there instead
The stadium they now have is beautiful...
@@wolfiethedog76 which stadium?
Míchele Cobré target field
@@cursed0529 i wished they had a retractable roof on it would be cool but the stadium is ok but not metrodome was even though i wished had a retractable clear roof too
Only if it rains on their game day
The Metrodome and US Bank Stadium both hosted the NCAA Final Four ⁉📚🌆🏀💺There should be a video about that..🎥
