Here, Romeo is trying to broker a peace between the two warring families--the Capulets and the Montagues. Part of what you may hear, or not hear, is simply the characterization, or perhaps the situation. Or, maybe you equate a fast vibrato with cold? I'm not sure what you're hearing that makes you think cold. In any case, really, if you're interested, find some other recordings of hers. She is actually quite spectacular. There is a recording from this past summer, in Paris, where she sings the Barcarolle with Julie Fuchs, which is just marvelous and rich. I also particularly like her recording of "Madre dilette, abbracciami," from her Drama Queens album. It's just wonderful and full of feeling. Just two off the top of my head that may change your feeling about her singing.
