if iron gate would employ smitty just to build random stuff and make the game look less unpopulated, maybe do some side story around this places.... damn it would be a great improvement for valheim
Imagine a premade map with two dozen locations like those scattered throughout the biomes.. That would elevate the gameplay experience so much. Now let the modding scene grow, add unique bosses/elite enemies in there, prevent players from building anything (Beside maybe beds, camp fires and crafting station) and we pretty much turned Valheim from a survival game to an actual RPG. I'd love to play something like that ngl.
As an older person I stumbled onto this video and found it surprisingly creative, I enjoyed every minute of it along with your narrative reasoning behind each of the structures. I hope you find a way to turn this creative pursuit into a real way to make a living, you definitely have a talent.
Yep, I would definitely NOT want to live there. This actually really feels like Tristram. I could just imagine a group of Dungeon raiders discovering a hidden stairwell behind the Church altar only to find King Leorics undead minions waiting for them below. You really nailed the bleak feeling of desolation. Beautiful in a horrid way 😁
I love finding old ruins in games like this, cleaning them of monsters, tidying them up and repairing them again so that I can use them as a base, especially when you're not that far into the game and you've patched up the stone structures with wood it's really brilliant. I wish places like this could be found everywhere in Valheim.
There is a group of modders (two guys lol) who makes RPG game in Valheim. They already did a bunch of very impressive stuff: 5 cities, some smaller POI, quests etc. I feel like your village should be in there. Absolutely gorgeous design.
Holy crap this is very well done! 16:32 even added the raven there and made the cinematic even better!, i am glad i found this trending in youtube lol, subscribed.
Thank you! Honestly I don't even know how that Raven go there - the game just knew it was a perfect spot lol. So happy you enjoyed this! Appreciate the support!
People that make stuff like this blows my mind, i always see things like this and think "i can do that no problem" then vuild my basic ass box house, mad props man keep up the awesome work
The fact that you instilled so much time and focus on details on this is really impressive. You are one of those who would be perfect in level design of games. Kudos!
Thank you so much! Indeed a ton of time and focus go into these projects, so thank you for noticing! Lol maybe I'll take some level design classes and change careers ;)
I couldn’t agree more with all those saying your work needs to be brought to the Big Time! This is such an incredibly immersive and expressive creation! 100/10. I love the background music as well! If anyone knows what it might please do tell!
This build is absolutely fantastic, and truly fitting for October. Thank you so much for adding what mods you use - I keep forgetting to get them until I see another video from you XD Headed to the Nexus now.
Thank you so much! So happy you enjoyed this one - Yes I use some mods, but it's very light, and mostly for convenience than outright game-changing. Everything utilized in the map is still standard game assets. Appreciate the support!
I've never played this game, but this looks so incredibly awesome. This would be such a cool area to stumble into in any game, and its crazy that this was made by a player. Good job dude, it looks so cool!
WOW! This is a f****ng amazing masterpiece of artwork! The atmosphere is captured so fantastically and the story that the village tells makes your blood run cold. My favorite place is the gallows. The consistency with which you approached this project is simply incredible!
I like to build in the swamp. Typically, I find an existing structure (such as a crypt) and build around it. I haven't thought to construct ruins - typically, I construct buildings for me to use when I'm in the area. It might be fun to fill an island or two with ruined structures and villages, all connected by overgrown paths. A world filled with structures like this could be shared so that others who want a world that looks more lived-in can explore its secrets. Unfortunately, anything like this will become out of date whenever a major update comes along.
Wow. I've seen a lot of builds throughout the years but this feels like the most organic one out of them all. I've worked on my own theme park world of sorts here and there but haven't touched the game in quite a while. This would definitely get me back into the game to recreate near the massive graveyard biome I had carved out if I weren't already playing through BG3 atm. Absolutely my favorite build of all-time.
One thing for sure, this game needs locations full of stories like this. You would make a great environment artist for this game or any game actually. Nice work!
Amazing build, i get a strong Diablo / Vermintide vibe watching this one. Not only you nailed the dark fantasy style but you also got the technical stuff with aged building, combat destructions, very well done sir!
The environmental storytelling of this build is so breathtaking! Imagine if IronGate Studios hired this guy to make structures like this that can be generated into the real biomes of the game.
@@smittysurvival I wonder if they are hiring haha. All I know is that they use Unity Engine for this, so C# programming and know how with procedural generated terrain might be key.
I've never watched anything related to Valheim before, and I'm honestly so happy this is my first exposure to it! The town is so beautiful in such a haunting way, and the music you used added so much to the general vibe. Amazing video!!!
glad to see you're starting to get more attention, you deserve it dude. not only are the builds always immaculate and beautiful, the storytelling / presentation of the video is really artistic and excellently done, getting better and better. good shit!
Thank you! Yeah channel has been steadily growing as of recent! Very grateful to be able to share my hobby with a community that appreciates it! :) Makes all the work worth it!
This is a gorgeous build. I don't even leave comments on videos. But I had to make sure you know how awesome I think this build is. Well executed, creative, and unique. I watch a lot of Vallheim build inspo videos and have not yet seen anything like this.
Dreadful build, horrifying presentation, ghastly video. Loved every second, 10/10 :D Story elements were really well done, really brought the whole thing to life... or death?
A lot of people hate the swamp biome, but i love it, the first time i played valheim this place was so spooky the sounds and all, but at the same time fun to explore, very memorable place, to me this is a classic biome of valheim.
You put a lot of love and care into these builds and they're very beautiful. This is basically art in a video game amazing job. I wish you the best and most creative builds in the future
Dude I gotta say, I share the same enthusiasm as you when it comes to world building and environmental storytelling. I just LOVED to get to know your work and all the effort and attention you put into it, its wonderful, pieces of art even. Keep on with the great work, loved the video and how you put it together while explaining what you were trying to do, loved the cinematic at the end aswell. This, what you do here, is truly art.
It’s absolutely incredible! Dream big my friend you have a great talent that should be utilized. Showing all of your great creations here is very wise since now they are all immortalized!
This build looks incredibly cool. Would definitely send a shiver down my spine exploring that place, especially considering how the swamps are already haunting. Great job!
I havent played this game yet, but just watched a lot of videos of it. This video has made the most impact. I got the same feeling as I entered Duskwood for the first time in WOW 20 years ago! As mentioned by others, you should be hired as a level/POI designer, though you might lack the "education" for it, you deliver feelings and a story, and that is in my opinion the hardest thing to learn. Can read in the comments that it actually would be your dream to do, GO FOR IT! You are very skilled for this.
I'm blown away at how good this looks. The cinematic at the end wouldn't look out of place as a trailer for a Warhammer or Diablo game that a team of people would have worked on. Amazing work especially with all the fine detailing.
I really wish they hired you so that we would have more POIs in this game, just like the one you build. Also 100% agree, that it's the small details that really add up to the overall immersiveness. Outstanding job!
Amazing work! Finding this randomly in my travels through "just another swamp" would send chills up my spine and completely trigger my imagination and curiosity. All that's missing is a mini-boss to spawn from one of the two fissures and there is suddenly an epic tale to tell back at camp.
I just gotta say I have been running some of your videos in the background and I have to say you have been a real inspiration for me in building. Course I don't build in creative so it takes me MUCH longer to build, but I get a lot of joy out of that. Looking at my castle I am working on I get a sense of pride knowing I went out and collected every log and stone type of thing. Regardless, you have helped me a lot in ideas to spruce it up! Look forward to more amazing builds!
Awesome! I love Valheim's building system more than most because of the logical way you need to build things with support unlike all these other games where you can float an entire structure from one ground contact. You have to put more effort in for sure, but the results just feel better and are more rewarding if you pull of some nice builds. I also think that limitation creates more aesthetically pleasing designs because it taps into what we are familiar with in our own history.
This is amazing. Build with heart. This is exactly the same thing why I love ELDER RING exploration... it feels like every place has its own story. It explains why I can't find another game like ER that gives me that vibe. If Valheim would be built with your POI I would get what I'm trying to find!
This takes me back to my minecraft days, adding the most minucia of details to a medieval village and make it looked lived in and real was so pleasurous
Y'know, the old jarl useda live out here. It's true. He built his hall right in the middle there. Then it sank into the swamp. So he built another one. That fell over, then sank into the swamp. So he built another one. That burned down, fell over, *then* sank into the swamp. So he tried again. That one burned down, fell over, *blew up,* then sank into the swamp. Then he built this one, which didn't sink - probably because it's sitting on top of all the other ones. Of course he was ruined by then, so he had to sell it. I got the place for a song, and now I just hope it doesn't sink into the swamp. This has been your obligatory Monty Python reference, brought to you by Zoggin Git Industreez. Jokes aside, you did very well on this. Bigtime Diablo 3 "New Tristram" vibes, only overrun and ruined by the dead instead of saved. I hereby dub this place...Niđingsþorpe. Which is just the fancy Norse way of saying "Blight Town". (Oh, and if you wanna pronounce that right, remember that đ, eth, is a soft 'th' like in 'then', and the þ, thorn, is a hard 'th' like in 'thigh'. Nee-th-ingz-thawpa.👍)
OMG a top comment goes to the Monty Python reference! BINGO! Tristram Cathedral from diablo III was a huge influence when I was pulling refence! Great eye!
This is sick! Absolutely epic vision and follow through! I love design like this in valheim! Not one big building. A lot of small ones make a (dreadfully) cozy village
Agreed! I've played/built in a lot of different games, and it's the flexibility of Valheim's build system that always brings me back. The more you spend time with it, the more powerful it becomes too! So much freedom to create and experiment.
I've never seen such a well done theme fitting build in Valheim. Great job. I hope we will get one day all available assets from the game to put in in creative mode without using any commands, mods etc.
Man, so many of your builds and the narratives surrounding them, should be added to the game as actual random locations. Would make exploration so cool and rewarding.
but seriously, I wish there were more POI that looked this good in Valheim. The devs should seriously consider asking for POI submissions from players at this point. Such great work!
This is looks crazy good! Much better design then most MMO have or even had. XD Great job, i love the design and the ascetic, it well fit together IMHO.
Man, your builds look amazing! I love how you start with an overarching idea and build gradually what would make sense for your story. In my early building days, I'd start with a massive structure and struggle to fill it with anything because I couldn't generate enough ideas. Letting things grow like this really gives an organic and interesting feeling to a build. I'm a survival player and I love to make builds that tell my story. I like how my bases evolve with my play time (and I definitely spend way more time building than my friends do). I'm assuming a lot of things like coffins and guck sacks you were able to spawn in because of creative mode. I'd like them to add more tools for building without having to cheat stuff in. Loving the direction the game is going, and can't wait to get back into it when Ashlands come out. Thanks for sharing this with us! It's a great feeling to share things with others, and also for me to get a glimpse into someone else's mind.
I'd consider myself an expert level builder in Valheim, and I have to say, this is some superb work. Great use of the limited building options. My mind immediately thinks of what this town was like in it's prime. I'd be tempted to go find a similar land layout but in the meadows, and build the identical town, but lit up and full of life. Portal it up and you have a before/after time machine.
This is incredible! Your building designs are so creative and way beyond what I thought was possible in Valheim. I definitely need to jump back in and mess around with the building mechanics again.
This game may be more oriented to the creativity of the player, but hey, if these stuff was existing in places randomly, I think it would give the game 100% more attention. I mean, in a world where games are usually min/maxed and people are focused more on speed runs, this game could actually bring back some actual enjoyment with your creativity and what the game provides so far. Great job man! Keep it up! Hope you get the attention your work deserves.
This vid actually convinced me to buy Valheim! Since then, I've been loving every second learning the ins and outs of this game. It may take a while, but someday my viking Kolbrún shall have a banquet hall worthy of her. 💪Great work, I look forward to checking out your other builds, lad!
This earned you a new sub and follower. I love dark and gloomy designs like this. The lighting is incredible, and adding in remnants of battle torn spots is phenomenal. Good job and keep builds like this coming!
this was sick dude, i agree with everyone else, you need to get put on some level design team for a game studio bc the story is so clear and well put together with this one. fantastic my guy
I been watching you since a while and once i thought it, now i can confirm it. If Irongate would give you your own small team design for "Beauty enviroment" for example you + JJ + Versaugh.... Oh boy, i can 't imagine the views we could have in Valheim. The efforts in the little details you work are amazing, please upload videos more regulary haha. Huge love from Argentina
So mesmerizing, so captivating! One could even say... fang-tastic! It's so awesome that even I couldn't resist taking a break from bloodsucking to watch it!
@@smittysurvival Yes that church looks like a perfect place for a Midnight Mass! One question if u dont mind.. How do u record ur character from another perspective while building?
glorious! I know squat about Valheim, but I love the halloween aesthetic anywhere I can find it, and you did a fantastic job! really dig the environmental storytelling elements. makes me wanna work a town like this into my D&D games. 11/10, the vibes are immaculate.
Awesome job - your videos always impress! I'm trying really hard not to play Valheim until ashlands drops so I don't get burnt out, but watching your videos is a happy compromise.
hey man I just played the forest 2 with friends we made a massive fortress then we moved to play the forest for the story line. I never thought I had a liking to building. I've never heard of this game.Very nice work !
man this is so cool! the little details that you came up with are awesome, and the church looks so good looming over the rest of the settlement. Love the effect of the guck in the water and making the church seem like a place where skeletons were emerging from was a awesome idea, i think it came out really cool. Thanks for sharing!! i wish there was a mod that could allow you to place all the things you placed without it putting you into creative mode tho haha, i just wanna have all the in game files / peaceable items available on my regular hammer cuz i love building things in the base game without devcommands/flying around

I love building in this game so much, i have played so many survival games but this one really lets me build what i have in my mind.
Looks like the haunted towns in new world. Awesome work man!
I've never played new world! I'll have to check it out!
XD
Great job, i love the design and the ascetic, it well fit together IMHO.
Awesome work! The church and the fortress are just great. I agree that building in different biomes gives a very different vibe.
This is incredible! Your building designs are so creative and way beyond what I thought was possible in Valheim. I definitely need to jump back in and mess around with the building mechanics again.
Wow, that is incredible! That is the best Valheim build I've seen yet, and that's saying a lot. Nice work!
Thank you so much! Welcome to the channel and appreciate the support!
Great build, very ominous! It looks like this is a scourged village than has plagued by the undead & war for a long time. I love the vibes!
This is one of your best builds yet. So much atmosphere and story telling.
Thank you so much! I agree the atmosphere and thematic integrity of this one is super strong!
this was sick dude, i agree with everyone else, you need to get put on some level design team for a game studio bc the story is so clear and well put together with this one. fantastic my guy
amazing work!!! itd be even more creepy (and more taxing on your system) with the HD textures
Lol my PC would be on fire with HD textures
wow smitty.. that was awsome.. all u needed was like that ghost.. in one of the rooms heh. im impressed, so very well done.
Thanks! You're right! A wraith wondering around might've been the CHERRY on top ;) great idea lol
I had a lot of fun with this game at launch, but haven't played it since. That being said, this is bloody awesome, mate. Well done!
Oh wow it'd be like the Valheim Build Avengers! That would be so cool lol.
Very happy to hear you liked this one! Appreciate the continued support!
Dude they need to hire you because damn. Give you ten minutes and you make stuff better than what's in the game.
So mesmerizing, so captivating! One could even say... fang-tastic! It's so awesome that even I couldn't resist taking a break from bloodsucking to watch it!
LOL! Could be a fitting home for CountBane ;) Thanks for stopping in!
@@smittysurvival Yes that church looks like a perfect place for a Midnight Mass! One question if u dont mind.. How do u record ur character from another perspective while building?
My God! This is the best village I've seen in Valheim. Man, you are incredibly talented.
by FAAAR the most interesting and atmospheric design I've seen. Amaze!
Man, this is absolutely epic! I would love to be wandering through the swamps and stumble upon a ghost town like this. Fantastic work. 👌
glorious! I know squat about Valheim, but I love the halloween aesthetic anywhere I can find it, and you did a fantastic job! really dig the environmental storytelling elements. makes me wanna work a town like this into my D&D games. 11/10, the vibes are immaculate.
This perfectly fits the ambience the vanilla valheim swamp is going for. Excellent build!
Totally agree! Wanted to ensure this project really suited the biome well!
Holy crap man! You have serious talent. You should be like a civil engineer or something. Very impressive very cool
Thank you! Haha maybe in the next life I can go down the engineering path lol
Valheim is a GREAT game! Would highly recommend you try it out, especially if you have friends to play with!
They need to hire you for set dressing. This is character. This is everything.
Very spooky. There must of been thousands of undead erupting from the ground. Amazing depiction of an undead invasion. Great job.
Wish I could just stumble upon this stuff in the game. Better than just random little towers or huts.
13:07 I know this feeling so well, it feels like a personal attack.
Also, at 16:26, I think you should have inverted the crosses to further emphasize the fact that this place has been desecrated.
This would've been a great detail!
man this is so cool! the little details that you came up with are awesome, and the church looks so good looming over the rest of the settlement.
Wow, absolutely love this. This should have been in the game for all of us to play. Nice job!
Man I need whatever string library they used in that cinematic track but I suppose I will never know
Also congrats on building Seattle
You nailed it looks great. Imagine actually coming across such a place while exploring in game would be very cool and menacing.
this is beautful, i love how much thought and care went into every last piece!
They should take this build and place 1 or 2 of them in the seeds so people can stumble across it in their play-throughs. Absolutely fantastic!
This was amazingly well done. I had no idea this game allowed for this level of design and architecture.
