Inga, thanks for this video. For keeping it real and being honest. Life is busy with commitments and responsibilities towards our families, our profession/job and at times I find myself juggling with it all. I don't manage to knit as much as I would like.. Watching podcasts inspire me, however I also find myself questioning if I can ever get more productive. Thanks for the reminder that's its ok... and all that matters is enjoy your knitting. Have wonderful time with your parents. Hugs to baby Nelly and you ❤❤

Yes! Lol .... that statement just freed me! ( My daughter is a knitter/crocheter and is a big help with using my stash and knows that it is probably her only inheritance 😂) . Enjoyed knitting with you today... on a lounger with my feet up, a cardamom espresso, and elbows propped on one down pillow and a Jack Russell.

Thanks for another great podcast, learned more about you and your knitting and loved the way you did the answers to the questions. You are beautiful and your appearance was as pleasant as any other of your videos. Didn’t know you worked as a model before, would love to see some pictures of that time. Nelly is a lucky little girl, one day she will have so many choices to choose from for her wardrobe.

Hi Inga, I love this podcast format and learn so much hearing you answer these types of knitting questions. I especially love how you describe your lack of perfectionism related to knitting mistakes, etc, as you always make such stunning garments and other items.. I laughed out loud when you said that you don’t tell Matteus when you purchase yarn! (I often do the same with my husband) Thank you as always for inspiring me.

I love your videos, and I don't even knit (yet) ☺. I'm just here for the calm, cozy vibes. I do crochet, however, so I crocheted along with you this time. I'm crocheting a cardigan using a bamboo yarn. The yarn separates so easily so I feel your pain. Hope you had a wonderful vacation (if you're home) or still having a wonderful vacay if you're still in Turkey!

Regarding the sleeves on your beautiful red dress, in American English we call those butterfly sleeves, or if they are longer (elbow length), bell sleeves. The do look like butterflies - so pretty!

Thanks for this super chill and informative Knit and Chat Q&A, Inga! 🥰 I was sewing on buttons to a cardigan I knit to wear on my wedding day while watching your video. This made me reflect how much I learned from you. I got into knitting around the same time that we made the decision to move to Norway a couple of years ago, which made me look up "Norwegian knitting podcasters" and you popped up. :) Your podcast taught me a whole lot, about knitting as well as about this beautiful country. I don´t think I´d be wearing a handknit cardigan on my wedding day (in Norway) if it weren´t for your podcast. So thank you! 🥰

Inga I had a long drive for my archaeology job today so I listened while driving. Thanks for keeping me company! Also, I have lost a wip before too. I love that while we’re the same age but not in the exact same stage of life (I don’t have kids but I have a 3 year old niece) we both knit the exact same way. I look forward to your knitting podcasts. Hopefully I can return to mine. However, I’m going to wait until I have a few finished objects. I’ve been learning a lot of lessons from all of my knitting failures. Here’s hoping my current wips go a lot better! I’m really looking forward to tackling the in and out raglan with the flower motif I’m trying to knit. I also finally am getting my hands on the sandes garn booklet in English that has the slip over pattern you love to knit and wear so much. I hope you’re soaking up your trip to Turkey with your lovely daughter. They grow so fast. My niece is just starting to speak full sentences and you never know what she’s going to say! I’m knitting the little Camélia for her in the six year old size.

This Q&A was so enjoyable to knit along to. I have a very random question, I noticed you have a Samoyed dog (I have a Siberian Husky at home) - have you ever considered collecting the shed fur and wash/spin it into yarn for knitting? I started doing it when my old boy got very old and sick, and have also been collecting from my new boy 😅 I feel like a lot of people might find it weird but I thought it'd be cute to have a small accessory to remember my dog with!

    Inga,
Hello from Kentucky! I only began knitting in 2020 when I found my mom's knitting needles and yarn stash. Your channel is the very first RUclips channel I subscribed to and now I have many, many other knitting podcasts I enjoy watching! I am so impressed by you and all the knitters I watch who create freestyle. Someday I will get there but until then I will knit the sock pattern I found that fits me well. Thank you for sharing all your talent with us. All the best to you and your family!

I discovered both of your channels about the same time and am always excited when a new one drops.

Inga, you had me laughing so hard when you said 'faffy'. I've only ever heard my British grandparents and my mom say that. Brought back lots of good memories. I'm so glad that you are still finding time to knit. Hi, Inga.. would love to hear more about your modeling days, that sounds very interesting. I'm currently reknitting the Morning Ramble cardigan from the KnitPicks pattern book called Woodsmoke. It's a fairly complicated pattern and the 1st time i knit it was a great balance to long busy shifts in the trauma/ED as an RN. I'm reknitting it because 6 months after I finished it, it was lost when our home burned down, ( just before COVID)..along with all my knits, sewing, quilts and other fiber work. Finally, we have a home rebuilt, I got to retire, and have more time to knit and watch podcasts. This time the cardigan is much easier and going very well. I'm using knitpicks bramble heather in worsted weight. We live very rurally on a farm near Nodaway, Iowa, so along with house building, I spent 1 year just collecting yarns from fiber festivals, to on line, to any yarn shop i could manage to get to. A girl NEEDS a stash when the moods strikes to cast on. thanks for keeping me so entertained, Jan Lucas

I love that dress, the Lola , I love that whole booklet, I should get it, I think by the time I knit that dress I would be way too old to pull it off, as with most of the patterns in that booklet, that is what has held me back, but I go look at it every once and a while. 😊

I really enjoyed your question and answer period. I know that in the Scandinavian countries, you are given one year of maternity leave so that you can bind with your baby. I think that is a wonderful thing. We do not have that in the US. But as a physician, I wonder how you will be able to keep up your surgical skills if you are away from work for such a long time.

We get 7 months and the rest is unpaid here but its more important for me then becoming a specialist quickly so it will just take abit longer to get into the groove of certain procedures but thats ok🥰

Inga Hi! You are into lace at the moment both for yourself and Nellie and its just one beautiful masterpiece after another You are making - really fascinating. I have a question in making my first jumper after ca 30 years. Nowadays its all top/down. So how are those underarm cast on stitches joined on to the main body work or is there an opening left there or what ? It's very confusing😢
Thank you. Enjoy your precious young motherhood days ❤❤❤❤

You normally cast on stitches to join the front and back as you set the sleeve stitches aside to finish knitting later. When its time to knit the sleeve you will pick up stitches from where the underarm caston stirches are thus closing the gap to knit in the round, no seeming just ends to weave in

Ruffled sleeves is the term I think, for the dress.

The sleeves are called flutter sleeves here in southern US.
