If you had not told us about the technical problems, I don't think anyone would have noticed because your edits are so clean and your segues to the scenes with music and scenery are very smooth and professional (as usual)!
I got winded just watching you guys hiking up that trail! LOL! Even the bears don't want to walk 90k steps!

As I mentioned previously, no need to apologize for the technical difficulties, as your edits are so good, so smooth and so professional that I would bet money that no one would have noticed if you had not told us. Not to mention your "back up" equipment is top notch! Any loss in quality is negligible. And I would not say there was a loss in quality, the picture had a softer look, but still looked great! I'm impressed you made it to the first lookout after climbing the hill! Deer Mountain is about 3,300 ft in elevation. You made this local proud! Kudos :)

We were there on May 15th. The weather was Hot!
We literally just missed you! That whole week was scorching hot 🥵 such a strange heat wave for the shoulder season, we were so lucky!

@@kala-ryanandkala Majestic Princess. We had a forward facing balcony & were so grateful for the beautiful/hot weather. We were on the Northbound from Vancouver to Whittier. It was our second cruise there in May. Both of them were perfect weather.
Kala you did a great hiking up that trail. You go girl 👊🏻. That’s what I want to do in Alaska. Explore myself and look for trails on every single port if I can.

It was a great hike! If you’re there look for the deer mountain trail on google maps, it was easy enough to find. I am not a great hiker but I’d do it again for those views! The footage doesn’t do it justice!

Well, I guess you didn't notice this minor detail on the map, when you were pointing to the trail map at time 11:46 ... but those were "contour lines" on the map. The closer they are together, the steeper the terrain is. So, when you first showed that map, I was thinking, "Man, that trail is STEEEEEP!" haha! However, it seems that you soon noticed this minor oversight?!?! 😁😁 But, what a view at the top! Seems like it was worth the hike! Bunch of champs. 💪💪

Wow, you got so lucky with the weather in Ketchikan, our day was drizzly and overcast.
Alaska is such a toss up for weather. One day it could be bright and sunny and the next is foggy and rainy. I wish we could predict it but it's a total gamble.
Other than the weather we hope you had an amazing trip!
@@ryanandkala Our weather other than Ketchikan was great as well. Ketchikan was not drizzly all day but it wasn’t super sunny like your Ketchikan day!

Honestly that's a good question lol! I think maybe because I can't eat a lot of stuff like breads and desserts because of my gluten allergy.

20:26, umm, black bears eat skunk cabbage. I've never heard the correlation showing that seeing skunk cabbage = no bears.
There are definitely bears in that area.
A quick Google search will give you answers.
Oh no!! Our guide in Sitka said if you see it than that likely means no beats have been around. Thankfully we didn’t see any!

Seems to make sense to me! If you see eaten skunk cabbage, it could be possible that a bear is in the area I would assume. But we just relayed what the local guides indicated, we're no expert.
