Anybody that would get mad at you for making a living need to check themselves. Been meaning to support you for a while, so I'll see you at the merch shop for the micro sale. Thanks, Rob. Appreciate you.
We are so blessed to have Rob Brown. Free, QUALITY content. This channel always gets me motivated to work the kinks out on the pad! Thank you for what you do! PS - Flamuel L. Jackson is hands down the best nickname I’ve ever heard.
I use the swiss triplet, Whatever this is called; ( lowercase is a flam, as it's an alternating triplet) LrLR RlRL, flamadiddles, and inverted flamadiddles as a go to warmup every day. I also use a Paradiddle-diddle with a flam on the accent with triplet phrasing. Good video, man. Flams are awesome workouts, and eventually they teach you to stop fighting the stick and relax so it becomes effortless.
“They teach you to stop fighting the stick” - that is a very insightful description of what flam exercises do! Never occured to me to look at flams like this. Thank you for that! I guess I should go do more flams then.
@@yuriselukoff The same idea works for your feet too. Once you realize you're working with a multitude of levers you can almost literally tap dance on the pedal without any tiredness in your feet or legs.
@@yuriselukoff A thought just occurred to me a moment ago; a Swiss Triplet specifically does freakin' wonders for ghost notes, so be sure to do them with both right and left hand lead.
@@legacyShredder1 thanks man! I’ve been doing this particular exercise for two days now, and I love it. (Although I can’t imagine what kind of a beginner can do 5 min of flammed Swiss triplets at 140 bpm. I wish I was that beginner!)
Apart from a brilliant drummer , you are a superlative mentor in offering Drumming tutorials in the most simplest of ways. I have been following your lessons regularly and learning the ropes. God bless you. Continue to serve the society with your Music.
I think I did this wrong. I thought it was one stroke with one hand, two with the other (as in a triplet). Then he switched. Yet it looked like he was doing something else on the pad. I’m not sure what to do.
I couldn't do the flam at this tempo, so I stuck with you doing LRR then RLL for the second half and switched again the in the third. That was brutal for me without the flams
This was different. I liked it. Difficult tempo for that long! I don’t agree with saying beginners should bounce at 5 min just bc you switch to left lead but its the same thing. If someone played through the first 5 with right flam lead then they should be able to play the left… ya know
I think you should travel to Basel in Switzerland when Covid is over and try out for Top Secret Drum Corp. Maybe you will be - is the clue in the fact you've chosen swiss triplets for this Rob?? (I'm sure you've heard of them, if not Google or RUclips em). I was in the Basel Tattoo years ago and they were too - mind blowing!
Nice video Rob.I play on my drums with left hand with the butt end of stick,is that right to do on my practice pad, what do you thing about that practice?
Thanks for the video, It's a good workout! I don't necessarily agree with the beginner/intermediate/advanced approach here, though. First of all, this is not a beginners tempo, which is harder to remember once you get farther ahead on your drumming journey. And secondly, the swiss army triplet isn't the most beginner-friendly rudiment to begin with. It takes time to develop the stick control that's required to execute the rudiment cleanly, especially the tap that comes right after the accented note on the same hand. I wouldn't want any beginner to feel discouraged just because they can't keep up with the first 5 minutes. Also, you can definitely have some hiccups throughout this workout and still be an advanced player. You won't actually be burning your hands like this for 15 minutes straight in a real musical scenario. If you can play it with control for say 2 minutes and you're an overall well-rounded player, you're probably good to go. You use the rudiment to compliment a section of a musical piece, not to run a marathon. Of course it's great to have the stamina regardless, but on the contrary, you can go through the whole workout with ease and still not be an advanced player. The labelling in this case might give drummers the illusion that they're worse/better than they actually are. Other than that, great stuff, well worth working on!
Hey Rob, great workout tutorial 👍 (A little off topic... Sorry, but what do you use to affix your acoustic foam? I've just got some larger 2'x4' panels like you have up.) Thanks.
Rob, I got a notice from my Experian telling me my info was found on the dark web and the info was from teespring. The only thing I've ever ordered from teespring is your t-shirts. I'm good, just wanted you to be aware. G

I just tried the exercise. The last 2 minutes were really hard, and I got tangled up more than once lol. Great exercise Rob. Thank you

Do more of these practice aid videos, absolutely love it !!
Damn, the initial tempo is pretty high already, takes some practice to get there first, I guess.. thx for the workout
I totally watched this video at .75 speed. We'll get there, it's about doing it every day
Spent the whole workout doing flams on beat on of a 4/4 😂 still got a burn from those doubles.

Just learned the SAT courtesy of you sir. Going to have to do this workout at my own pace until I get it up to speed.
You've helped my playing tremendously. I'll definitely be signing up on patreon brother 💪🏽
Love that kind of video. Thanks Rob.
Have fun with it! 🤓
I got my Sticks and my Pad! Let's Go! Cool, I can bounce after 5 min.👍😂 (Beginner)
Made it the whole way, but that left hand lead section was rough! Also grabbing my marching sticks was maybe not the smartest idea... but it was fun!
Спасибо вам!

Ok, I'm trying. It'd be helpful for me if your drumming were louder than the background beats - I'm old, I get lost, but will persevere.
