OMG, that’s Flamuel L Jackson! Mr L Jackson, you probably get this all the time, but I’m your biggest fan, I’ve seen all your moves! My favorites were, Pulpadiddle Fiction, Deep Blue Flamacue, Triple X Stroke Roll and A Time to Herta!
The beauty of these workouts, the singles, the doubles and the paradiddles can be played at 120,150,180 and onward by changing the playback speed respectively. 1, 1.25, 1.5…all the while giving Flammy his due respect. Another excellent workout with good company. Thanks again Rob!
Been doing this weekly and using a slightly heavier stick called a Danny Carey Vic firth which I love the feel. Then was keeping time with the left foot hi hat and threw in some random bass singles and doubles. Was kind of fun not losing sight of the sticking technique. Hope it’s cool Rob :)
Diggin your vibe and videos man.. been basically watching your channel for the last few years and a few other drum channels. Been playing my whole life and still always able to pick up something new from you. Keep those videos coming! 🥁🤘
Well I’m not even on my practice pad and I’m 3 min in. Practice pad stuff with some sort of backing track is way better than just clicks. This practice pad stuff pays dividends quickly on hand speed and stamina
Great workout, my first time doing the shifts, I stopped after 8-min. But I had already done 90-min. of all kinds of exercises, stick control single beats at 153 bpm, doubles, other paradiddles, singles, triplets, sextuplets, 5-stroke roles, 6-stroke roles, triplets&fast singles😅, you’ve taught me a-lot & my progress has been enormous over the pas t2-years since I started supporting you on Patreon, I just wish I’d have started much younger🤷🏻♂️, but I can’t go back, only forward @ a young almost 71 years of age 🤘🏻🥁🙏🏻
I did this today. I didn’t do it with the displacement. I can do it and will incorporate it into the the exercise. I did straight paradiddles and moved them around the kit. Practice pad on the snare and mufflers all around. I also included the kick and hats alternating. Great workout Rob, I will be doing this on a regular. I can all ready feel the benefits!
The development of my hands has been more than miraculous. I'm one that used to play heavily in church and stepped away after my grandpa passed (pastor). But, now that I've been getting asked play a lot, i thought it'd be good to bust through the ceiling that I gave myself. So, I got a practice pad as my only birthday present this past October and mannnn. Anyways, your videos have been very helpful and fun. God bless!!
Great workout! Theres a point where you go so long you dont want to stop. This would work for those who arent up to 120bm yet by slowing the video down, it would also make a longer workout. Which is whats needed anyway. Thank for this fantastic inspiration!
After years of “sorta” playing drums trying to follow along to favorite songs, I recently began taking lessons with an amazing professional. We began with basic notes & rudiments. The problem being my genius brain only seems able to process/retain it if I can play it musically. Thanks to Sir Rob (he totally gets it), I’m now starting to play para-diddles, although only at 75 playback speed My wife’s recent comment was that it started to sound “rhythmic” to her! 👍🏼😄👏🏼
Ok so Ive been going through the book stick control but have been doing that at half the speed so I know Ive got some form of control. I tried this exercise and am up to 80%. My goal is to get to the speed of this video in 2 months or less. I think its def doable. thanks OG. Oh yeah, and thanks for getting me into funk. I'm from the UK so funk in it's rawest form was never a big big thing over here (because you know we've always had our own musical culture, of course blended with yours (USA i.e mainly hip hiphop and that from Jamaica and Africa). But I'm about to bring that funk thing right back around, just watch me. Keep up the good work RB! 🙏
Love this (and all your videos). Doing this it every day for a month, and LISTENING, I discovered it wasn’t even, so slowed it down to 110 and focussed on my weaker hand (matched grip) adjusting the grip and the relative contributions of my fingers, wrist and arm to match my stronger hand…and presto….much much better sound. At the end I check by switching from Paradiddle, to singles to doubles and back. Huge thanks as always for all the good you do. Peter
Ive been doing this exercise as well as the 4800 double stroke roll (20 minute workout) each day except weekends. I started last week and I can definitely notice the difference along the way. Especially with my left hand. These workouts are definitely worth it. Haven’t perfected the longevity but it’s getting there 👍🏾
Once again I watched one of your videos even though my arms are nerve damage to where I can't do sticks anymore I just watched the paradiddle 20 minute workout my legs got to work out but boy I sure wish you was around back in the late '70s, and of course had the internet back then too then you make it so easy I struggled learning paradiddles I sure enjoyed watching your videos, I thank you sir
love ya content man, i have gotten so much better and more relaxed after following your videos since 2020, especially focusing more on groove rather than outright speed and chops. its all in the groove man. Keep it up Ps love thatr ghost in the machine pster one of favs too!
I loved this longer 20 minute workout. The 20 minutes was no problem but I was bobbling the displacements this first time through. If you could do a workout with paradiddle diddle/paradiddle some time in the future - I'd be sure to do that. RLRRLLRLRRLLRLRR LRLLRRLRLLRRLRLL. I do this one every day. But it would be great to have with the displacements and your coaching plus a backing track and the whole bit. Thanks for your awesome channel.
@Rob Brown this was absolutely awesome please do more things like this! Also is there a good way to PM you for small q/a that may or may not got answered?
Great vid and workout as usual!! I was holding the Qtr note on the left foot. Can't forget the forgotten foot. Easy to do with that click you have. Make it musical, great advice!! You make that 1/8 note forward so dam seamless. Lots of practice, we'll all get there!
I like to start with the displacement while Rob starts on the downbeat. Also I will play various paradiddle patterns over what Rob is playing, while keeping my left Hi Hat foot on the off beat, ( and, and, and ). So much fun !
@@JamieDrumz I eventually have just started coming up with my own ideas. While switching back to what Rob is teaching, just to keep things interesting.

I've got that stick, too!@chazboish

Rob makes a 20 min workout video. Next thing I see is myself sitting behind a pad following Rob for 20 minutes
i did the other one with doubles a lot... i'm at the point in the doubles video that i know what he will say, so i'm glad this new video came out :)
Well I’m not even on my practice pad and I’m 3 min in. Practice pad stuff with some sort of backing track is way better than just clicks. This practice pad stuff pays dividends quickly on hand speed and stamina
Yes indeed!!
Rob , You’re a legend thanks for these lessons! making learning drums and improving so accessible all these years!

It's all about form and control. Cheers, Rob! ✌️🥁 🇨🇦
I love drumming drills! It's like going to the gym and lifting heavy and then feeling the burn right away....great stuff!
Man I love your videos. It’s my everyday’s ritual to check your channel before I sleep. Keep it up!! 🫶
Listening to this without watching feels a lot like a mix between a meditation and a freestyle rap :D Awesome !
That Metronome is funky as hell! !

you did a good job keeping me motivated to do the whole 20. gonna do this regularly - thanks rob!!
Rob for president! Thanks again for the great teaching.
Playing along regularly....every evening for a good couple of weeks. Simple but great exercise.

I slowed this down 75% playback speed and dropped out around the 10-minute mark. Great exercise! Thanks, Rob!
Love these workouts, thanks for the session.

rob! My bro, thankyou for these videos, some of my favourites online
This is going on my list of Rob instructional videos, foe sheez.
Flamual L Jackson NEVER disappoints! Shifting by an eighth either way wasn't as easy as you made it look!
I love this exercise, along with the doubles workout of robs I'm feeling much much better at swinging these sticks baby 👶
You are an awesome drum instructor. Subscribed.
Great workout. Even though I have been playing for a little while, I found it much more comfortable to slow the playback to 75% speed.
I love drills...Great chop builder
I love these I need more of these workouts
Let's GOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!
Keep up the great work

Did you hear me? I've been asking the universe for this video for quite a while 😁! Thanks man.
Dope exercise!! 🔥 definitely feel the burn. First time doing it and lasted the full 20...used marching sticks to get that extra burn! 💪🏾🔥🔥
Great Workout.
No one can complain about the metronome being paid we get all these boss lessons for free!
Just bought my copy - cheers Rob!
Love this .
This video humbled me thanks rob 😭🙏🏽
Awesome! Rob
You're inspiring me ( as a rhythm guitarist) to write more songs 🎵
@Rob Brown this was absolutely awesome please do more things like this! Also is there a good way to PM you for small q/a that may or may not got answered?
Thank you Bro!
I’m impressed with how well you can keep it going while taking. I mess up every time I try to talk lol
The goat did it again
great workout i feel it the hands and arms
When they ask you at the gym, "what the heck are you doing with all that stuff?" Just tell them that you're there for your workout.
Groove it out!
damn. this trains hands like nothing else
😮🔥💪 Figuring it out but we stuck with it!
Thanks!!
Killer workout man! My nose started to itch BAD about halfway thru tho. Could quite get it with my shoulder either 😂
Love the click vibe!
Beatdown Dude, I certainly do thank you. I'll be back. :)
That metronome going HARDDDDD BRUHNH💯💯💯💯💯

Really cool. I hope you do lessons on all the relevant rudiments.😎
Oh don't worry, he does!

Good point man. That left foot is where the goove is ;)
Just like butter! 5:06
I wear VERY similar gloves!, Flam-u-well! Mine are by Harbinger.
I have no idea what a paradiddle is, but I'm tapping my toe.
I didn’t think I’d get a boring click this time 😂🎉❤
Gracias
After this workout i consider myself as a paradiddle
Flamuel L Jackson!!!!! I’m ready!
This video has revealed just how much I still need to work on lol.💪😓
Great lesson, Flamuel L!!
Ima do this 👍
Rob this is awesome. How is it possible to come to Athens for a workout? I really want to meet you and talk about drums for hours.
Go its remember me a fews years ago i allways do it since good !!
I like to start with the displacement while Rob starts on the downbeat. Also I will play various paradiddle patterns over what Rob is playing, while keeping my left Hi Hat foot on the off beat, ( and, and, and ). So much fun !
Cool idea - gonna have to try that

What's the metronome? I like it!
What is that practice pad that you are using and where can I get one? Never seen it at my local drum shop.
Also, what app are you using for the click?
