The problem in watching NRL games live, audience wont have someone there to explain what's happening on the field. This is gonna compound the issue that the audience are not that familiar with the rules. That's why sometimes, it better to watch these games on television, because you have that benefit of commentator explaining to you why there's penalty, infraction, six-again, knock-on, etc. The only fun thing watching it live is you can witness body banging at each other, and you have a view of the whole field.
I think they had people explaining what was happening during the state of origin game they played in the US in the 80s but yeah, not this time.

As an Australian who enjoys rugby league it’s incredibly annoying to see RL referred to as Rugby. As in this video title headline. There are 2 forms of rugby type football. One is RL and the other is Rugby Union. They are completely different forms of the game. One is a gentleman’s game played by thugs. The other is a thugs game played by gentleman. RU is a truly international game like soccer and cricket. Whereas RL is played in only a couple of countries.
