In this very first episode with Kirk Norcross as co-host, Dan and Kirk begin to explore a new format for the show! Dan and Kirk talk about what you can expect from the show going forward including how their producer John, who has been there for every episode but isn’t an addict, will be getting involved to offer a unique perspective. Menace to Sobriety isn’t just for addicts, but also for those who are around them to learn about what addiction is and how they can potentially help those close to them suffering from addiction.
Kirk and Dan also open up about their own addictions including what they think defines a drug and drink problem and why becoming sober is the best thing to happen to them. Answering questions from the community, including whether alcohol advertising should be banned and how to deal with FOMO, this a jam-packed episode full of tips and ideas on how you can start your sobriety journey and remain sober too!

thank you dan and kirk for doing this i was in a really dark place and tried to kill myself over drugs and i see a councillor and he told me one that always stuck with me where he said if you fall how do you get up and he said you reach out and let people help you stand up and that’s like watching your podcast it’s helping me stand up and appreciate it so much

I’ve been avoiding these videos for a while because I was drinking and doing cocaine again, but glad you are still doing them and going strong with your sobriety, I’ve been on and off with sobriety for the last 3 years but always end up drinking on holiday, it’s my trigger and I know it, I normally do 4/5 months then go on holiday and start again. I’ve not lost hope because each time I make a mistake I’m learning from it, I’m excited to get back to my sobriety journey and not let anything stop me from the end goal which is to be sober for good, I think once you try sobriety once it’s hard to not keep going back as you know all the great benefits. Fantastic content this I can totally relate to being on the packet as well. I stopped by not going to my local boozers and started going on days out do my garden etc etc basically try to stay busy around the times I used to get on it So to speak. Saving some serious coin as well and treating myself to new clothes trainers and booking holidays abroad. Thanks for this channel 😊

Love the podcast really helping. recently realised i have a problem with gear. Now seeing the damage to my life ive caused but cant stop. Turned to Freinds i thought would be there but they aren't interested which made things worse

Guys keep going with this work and please get yourselves to our schools and youth clubs and start talking to kids about mental health ❤ you are so engaging and relatable and you get it. Learning to have a relationship with ourselves was never taught in schools.

The 25th of July is a year for me n if I’m honest I can’t believe I’m nearly there my life was a mess this time last year n honestly started to think ending my life was the only way to stop doing the things I was doing 12 months from that I’m in the best place I’ve ever been in in my nearly 36 years on this earth so if your out there and thinking about stopping the shit then u can do it ✌🏻❤️🙏🏻

I loved this podcast today. REally natural but keeping it real and offering support to those that need it. I definetley think u need to be kind to yourself and be careful with inner chat. So everday u need affirmations such as i am confident and loveable etc.

I was very tempted I managed to have 2 drinks and then call it a night it was hard gets in your head bad but drink was never my problem it’s what ended up being associated with it eventually.. I’m damn proud of myself and can thank you both for that .. now having an iced coffee and reading a good book and feel really good about myself Iv been with my partner 13 years never tried it till a year ago that’s how slippery that shit can be but Iv decided to get off that merry go round from hell and even though he’s still on I know I can just watch from the sidelines and maybe even drop some help and hints for him too Iv mentioned your podcast to him hopefully he will give it a look 💚
