Wow! Claudia described me exactly. Sitting there watching how slow other people drink, wondering how long I had to wait to get another drink, hoping my partner would go out for a while so I could sneak drink. It is a mental disorder not a flaw in character. I am an otherwise healthy, happy, loving hard working person. She is a godsend. I now see a path forward to being in control. Thank you. Hi Claudia. Thank you for your informative presentation. I went to a clinic, and I was first receiving the injection. Then went to the Naltrexone pill form. I became aware that I could drink on the medication and thought the medication was not helping so I stopped and went back to drinking I have read books, gone to AA meetings but the results were short lived. Had I received the information you have provided on the TSM I may have stayed on the program. All I was told was not take the medication and stop drinking. If you don't have all the right information, how can you make a rational decision. Now after watching your videos, I have hope again. I have gone back on the medication and understand the process and how to incorporate this medication in my program. I trusted the wrong facility.
I just went to an addiction specialist instead of a general practitioner and they prescribed this to me same day (after a drug test and liver/kidney function test).
I’ve been on it for six months it’s made such a major difference in my life. I drank til blackout almost everyday. I drink once or twice a month now and I can feel my desire for even that amount going away.
Starting naltrexone tomorrow. Thank you Claudia for your journey and helping us!! Been praying for something that works. I’d love to help you get the drug into the hands of those who need it. 💖
well right after I started Nal a year ago, I found out I was pregnant. So I abstained throughout pregnancy and 7 weeks of breastfeeding. Baby decided she preferred the bottle and my low appetite wasn’t good for milk production. About the beginning of December I started Nal again and it is working great! I only take the pill if I am going to drink and I end up drinking half what I used to, pre-Baby. Alcohol free days are pretty easy and my favorite beer no longer has its claws in me. Very happy so far! Husband doesn’t drink and he’s very supportive. That helps a lot. He can see the difference.

I hope so much that I can try this and I'm very positive that it might very well work for me. My fear is detox or going to rehab or going back to AA or having them just treat me like... But all the time even I'm so afraid of the detox that I will just keep drinking until I die ughhh. I'm terrified of detox. And the memory thing about a not really happening just to be honest. What's shared in the meetings is shared otherwise as well guaranteed I've been there done that.
I tend to drink on the weekends. Unfortunately I end up drinking way more than I intend to. I drink faster than those with me and faster as the night goes on. Will Naltrexone help with being able to pace myself and drink in moderation? Thx
I only got proper help after not being taken serioisly until i had a seizure (30standards a night,) it took a near death withdrawal experience before they'd even let me bring in a printed study on baclofen and naltrexone for them to read (I was a pharmacist but they still didn't think i knew if it was bad enough to medicate)
I tried nal in 2015. just made me angry that I wasn't getting 'high'. and the thought of needing a pill to 'control' myself is just humiliating. I'd rather be free wo willpower or medicine. Hope it helps someone else but not for me.

Tried a drink 3 times over 4 days, nasty now! Have not had a drink in 60 days since and do not want one. You gotta get NALTREXONE!!!
If the doc won’t prescribe it to start with get it from online. Reliablerxpharmacy. That’s what I’m doing right now and it’s working . Also there’s mdproactive, an app where you consult with doctors online

4:10 - 'willpower willpower' in AA? you were misadvised about the aa book and contents but it doesn't matter, as long as you are happy again that is very good news. You are a good inspiration and comfort.
@@ThisNakedMind Yes absolutely. I wanted to point out that AA's fundamental premise is that willpower is no use in staying sober - so Claudia's view of AA seems awry. Personally, it sounds to me as though Naltraxone is an 'early resort' rather than a last resort. I always think that AA is more of a last resort. It'd probably save confusion and hassle if Naltraxone etc. were tried before AA. There is a also a big difference between 12 step treatment centers and AA. AA is free for a start (unless you want to contribute for tea/biscuits/venue hire etc.) whereas treatment centres are expensive.
someone very dear to me is alcoholic and there is no way he is stopping. we have tried everything . he went to AA and detox and a rehab but a few months later claps again . his MRI shows a little brain shrinkage , it is terribly sad to watch this young beautiful soul into 3 DUI and what not ,,, he is not a bit agressive too..... i am not in usa , what exactly did u say what medicin is it .
yes it does. I no longer want to drink, ever..with the pill there's no effect so there's just no point. The only thing you're left with is the taste and NOBODY drinks beer because it tastes good (hence the commercial failure of non-alcoholic beers) . I much prefer lemonade these days :)
I just wonder what percentage of people who use Naltrexone, stay sober for a long time 5 - 10+ years. It’s a little difficult to believe they’re doing the deep inner work, introspection, challenging their core beliefs that are required for long term sobriety.
Are they also running through how they’re going to handle all the different social scenarios where alcohol WILL be offered them with social pressures? The weddings, business lunches, dinners, birthdays, holidays, after softball socials, vacations, deaths, funerals, first dates, lonely friday nights etc... ?
Yes, it should. Look up the book The Cure for Alcoholism, which is a free pdf online. There is a chapter which shows the applicability of The Sinclair Method to other forms of addiction. I wonder if it is emphasized for alcoholism alone because alcohol is both legal and extremely deadly. It doesn't work on the Alcohol itself, just the opioid receptors that the endorphins one generates from drinking bind to and which is probably the similar process that just about any addiction goes through. It would be a tougher sell to use the Sinclair method with Heroin because of its stigma, danger and illegality. But for overeating or sex addiction or gambling, I really do wonder why there's not more promotion of The Sinclair Method.
@@ThisNakedMind Thanks for the recommendation. They require you to come in multiple times a week it seems. I'm going to keep plugging away with ADC. 2 months in and it is making a difference!
Hi Claudia my husband is picking up the prescription today! Thank you ! I’m so glad I found you on RUclips! By the way I’m using his name lol! But I’m his wife.
My husband is also 60 and like you I’m pretty sure he started drinking in his teens ....he is starting naltrexone today or tomorrow my hopes are high!🙏🏼🙏🏼
I don't agree with this. Maybe SOME alcoholics find naltrexone useful. But I see it as way to drink WAY too much to try and obtain the drunken effect to the point where they are sent into poisoning. Clarification should be made that this should be done WITH the 12 step program. Our willpower isn't enough!!!
I hide beer around the house, I get to five o'clock when Im off and I can't relax, if I go out and come back 2 hours later after beer I feel relaxed, the next day I feel like shit but I do it again and again.
Using The Sinclair Method, reading Dr Roy Eskapa's book on the method and reading Annie Grace's book 'This Naked Mind' are the smartest 3 things you can do to understand AUD and more importantly, how to best taper away from the alcohol.
All modern medications are artificial. Alcohol is artificial and brings artificial joy. Naltrexone is sort of an antidote for alcohol. Good for tapering off alcohol. No drinking, no med needed.

If someone told me to just stop, my mind would almost laugh saying good one, oh yes few days even few months no prob, but soon the vicious craving wld just be to strong (and believe me I'd fight it hard) But the 2-3 day a week huge bingeing would be back. My wife, bless her said only after a short time on this method, you have changed. I said Thankyou. That means the world. But staying compliant and knowing I don't want to be that person again, only this method after never giving up and believe me I nearly did a few times as it exhausts you is working. Many blessings. Chains are releasing one by one.
Ben from Aus.
Congratulations. It really does work ❤
I hope so much that I can try this and I'm very positive that it might very well work for me. My fear is detox or going to rehab or going back to AA or having them just treat me like... I'm just unsure of how to buy it and get it imported to where I live. Everything you say resonates with me so much I'm so glad I found this. But all the time even I'm so afraid of the detox that I will just keep drinking until I die ughhh. I'm terrified of detox. And the memory thing about a not really happening just to be honest. What's shared in the meetings is shared otherwise as well guaranteed I've been there done that.

Research it out. It works. It has changed my 5 family members ❤
It took me 5 months to reach extinction now I'm totally abstinent.
Good for you! Congrats!
This Naked Mind. Thanks so much. The other side is so much better.
Can I ask you how much you were drinking before you stopped.
@@bobtodd6163 I binged red wine bout a gallon a session
This is probably going to piss so many "addiction is a choice" people off
Probably!
thanks for this podcast. Claudia is a wealth of information :)
She truly is!
Hi, I wanted the link of the book which helped Claudia about the Sinclair method
www.sinclairmethod.org/sinclair-method-book/
I tend to drink on the weekends. Unfortunately I end up drinking way more than I intend to. I drink faster than those with me and faster as the night goes on. Will Naltrexone help with being able to pace myself and drink in moderation? Thx
With the Sinclair Method it could.
Yes it will. It has for me!
An awesome interview!!!!
Thank you!
love this story
Why isnt this more mainstream? this really works!!!!!!! XDDDDDD
It really should be!
That's just ridiculous. Hope you're doing well now!
I tried nal in 2015. just made me angry that I wasn't getting 'high'. and the thought of needing a pill to 'control' myself is just humiliating. I'd rather be free wo willpower or medicine. Hope it helps someone else but not for me.
Figuring out what works for us and what doesn't is an important part of the journey!
The stripper from The Hidden will help me to kick this craving. What a great timeline!
FYI I had a psychiatrist suggest I try this method before I knew about it. Chicago area
Lol!
please help me ,,, where do I start with this program ,,, send or give me the information ,,, you have inspired me more than you know ,,,it and you seem like the answer to all of my prays ,,,
thank you
You'd need to consult with a physician to start the medication.
Have your doc prescribe one 50mg tab NALTREXONE EVERY morning, started working for me first day, took the dopamine high away from alcohol, so now it's a poison I avoid.
We love you thank you
Thank you!
Im not a fan of portrait tattoos but im getting you realistically serious(still looking good) right above Amy Winehouse on the back of my arm in pin up style with a bottle of tanq. Idc im doing it. Danny Devito as Frank Reynolds on the other arm. It will be expensive because im not getting a portrait if its not perfect. The relation is serious though. Especially when you mention OCD. Man oh man. Much love to all of you!
Glad this connected with you!
How do I purchase this sinclair method is this available I cannot find any information on how to purchase
You'd need to check with a physician.
They can go to a behavior health doctor at any local hospital
Not every medical professional is up-to-date on treatment and help options.

4:10 - 'willpower willpower' in AA? you were misadvised about the aa book and contents but it doesn't matter, as long as you are happy again that is very good news. You are a good inspiration and comfort.
Everyone will have a different experience.
It is naltrexone.
Aloha Claudia I really need help, I don’t know where to start, or where to go to get Naltrexone? Thank you
You need to consult with a physician.

Will I be able to book a normal doctors appointment to start the process? I'm from England.
Not sure.
Loved her as Hexina!

How is Claudia now? its been a year since this video.
She's still doing great!
where can I order it on line.
You have to consult with a physician to be prescribed Naltrexone.

Never forget?
.
Im hoping someone can help me with this question. I want to get to the point of abstinence with alcohol, does this method work to that effect?
yes it does. I no longer want to drink, ever..with the pill there's no effect so there's just no point. The only thing you're left with is the taste and NOBODY drinks beer because it tastes good (hence the commercial failure of non-alcoholic beers) . I much prefer lemonade these days :)

What are your thoughts on Acamprosate? I'm on week 3 of sobriety. Feeling good finally.
I don't know enough about it to really say!
Most studies show a success rate around 70-80% long term with Naltrexone.
does this work for food?
Not that I know of.
my girlfriend started nicking my pills when she saw I ate less on naltrexone, wouldn't advise it without talking to doc first though
@stephenpitkin is that The Cure for Alcoholism book by Roy Eskapa? many thanks
@@NatalineDaycreator1 Yes it is, Nataline.
I need this in ND, can't find anyone through your foundation or ria health. Thank god for AllDayChemist, but I question the quality.
Try Ideal Option!
@@ThisNakedMind Thanks for the recommendation. They require you to come in multiple times a week it seems. I'm going to keep plugging away with ADC. 2 months in and it is making a difference!
How to find a physician and the medicine in Thailand or other Asian countries ?
www.cthreefoundation.org also there is a Europe version also. Google it.
Not sure!
So beautiful

💖💖💖
Is vivatrol the same thing?
Yes
My Dr said they'd only give me meds once I was able to quit 😅
You can look for another physician!
Thank goodness so many options exist so that everyone can find what works best for them!
Hi does it work for heroin addiction?
Yes, but you need to be much more careful and under a doctor's care. Check 15 of Dr. Eskapa's book discusses many other uses for TSM.
It's working to curb my appetite too, I lost 5kgs in a week on it
I don't have experience there to answer that.
I want to stop drinking and feeling crap the next day.
Claudia, Im weak and can't feel happy unless I've had a pint.
I hide beer around the house, I get to five o'clock when Im off and I can't relax, if I go out and come back 2 hours later after beer I feel relaxed, the next day I feel like shit but I do it again and again.
Hi Claudia
Not a big fan of annie grace, but appreciate her having Claudia Christian on

@@ThisNakedMind Your graciousness knows no bounds. Thank you for all you do!
Using The Sinclair Method, reading Dr Roy Eskapa's book on the method and reading Annie Grace's book 'This Naked Mind' are the smartest 3 things you can do to understand AUD and more importantly, how to best taper away from the alcohol.
My doctor refuses me to prescribe naltraxone
Have you considered looking for a different provider?
It's hard to go doctors when you have kids and tell doctors about this medicine incase they get Intouch with socail workers

@@ThisNakedMind Yep
I’ll stick to Annie’s method thanks.
M.G. Her methods never worked for me.
Dont like her method, it's to artificial,
Thank goodness so many options exist so we can all find what works best for us individually.
All modern medications are artificial. Alcohol is artificial and brings artificial joy. Naltrexone is sort of an antidote for alcohol. Good for tapering off alcohol. No drinking, no med needed.
This has changed my. I'm very angry about the parasites in the treatment industry
May you continue to find freedom!
