ogpu1 Yeah. I still have this motorcycle, haven't been riding it much lately due the New bike on the scene. Mainly riding the Kawasaki Versys X 300 to get the kilometres up for it first service. Once there, will start riding the SWM again. COVID-19 restrictions has made hard to rack up the Kms, we are restricted to a 5km radius from our residentially address & only allow to commute to work. Hopefully lockdown restrictions will be eased in the future & I can do what I enjoy...weekend trips etc.
I have this bike too and everyone says the 6 speed gear ratios are great. They're not. The ratios are rubbish for am adventure bike. 1st is too high and 6th is too low. SWM decided to fit the narrow ratio gearbox from the SM630 instead of the wide ratio box from the TE630.
Yes. If you’re riding off-road and highway, which I want it for, wider ratios would be better. Don’t know why SWM went with the Motard gearing. Strange thing is, the SWM RS650R manual lists it as having TE630 ratios, which is wrong. Not sure if this was fixed for the Superdual manual.
Actually Dodger you can turn the abs off front and rear and no not by pulling the fuse lol its a bit of a procedure but can be done .. dealer showed me how when i bought mine :)
@@craigbielsky115 put the bike up on the centre stand, start it, put it in gear and spin the rear wheel .. throws the abs into fault disabling both the front and rear .. off you go. to reset it cycle the ignition through the key .ie: turn it off wait a few seconds start it again ...
Neil Lawday Had issues with battery & electrical but since been rectified. The other issue I’ve had is the front forks. Bike has been with the dealer for 10 weeks now waiting on parts, due to COVID-19 repairing them has been delayed and a long process. Hoping to have the bike back soon.
he didn't say cold - but I came here expecting Australia to be always warm/hot. How wrong was I - it'd be very easy to die of exposure on this big wide continent es[ecially when well away from the coastline
Dear Dodger, have you ever measured the wet weight of the motorbike, maybe? There are a lot of contradicting information available on the internet, and cannot find someone, who put the machine on a scale.
constraints.on.minds Finding the true weight of this bike on the internet is all over the place. For a mid size adventure bike It’s not bad weight wise. It doesn’t feel heavy once moving, but that could be said with all bikes.
Using the bike as a daily commute, had a few little issues but now running great. Lockdown in Melbourne once again restricting trips. 🤞hopefully get out to do some touring in the near future. Vaccine 💉 booked this Saturday.
Don’t curse the rain FFS. I’d die for anything at all brother!
Looks like you picked a winner, high spec Italian style at a very reasonable price with great performance.
Ol UK dreamer, enjoy it
Thanks for your so honest information Dodger. Regards from Catalonia( Spain) and sorry for my basical English. I.m improving little by little...
Thanks Dodger, 👍 appreciate your experience and insights.
After watching this review I gonna start to save money for this bike
You have earned my subscription today Sir!
Next Week I’m heading off on a 14 day trip on the SWM. Will be an adventure to some remote parts of Australia 🇦🇺.
Great video! Do you still have this bike now? thanks for posting

@@DodgerMohr thanks for your reply. Keep safe!
Exelente trabajo saludos desde Argentina
Hi Dodger! The SWM's are definitely underrated. I love my RS650R as an all-rounder
Have a safe trip.. Look forward to some more video
Roger Vize Thanks. Will try upload videos on the go but no guarantee.

The problem is pressure of motor, no the ratios. the pressure is 12,4:1 and because this it work high.
Maybe need other muffler more open

Thanks for the vid....this bike is definitely on my list!
Good review mate, I was talking to a guy today who just bought one and sounded impressive. Might have a look at one myself in the future. Cheers Bazz
Thanks 🙏
Started watching but can’t take you seriously with that hat on dude 😂, good luck though 👍🏻

OK GOOD TO KNOW

@@DodgerMohr thanks for getting back to me so quickly. So, would you buy this bike again or pay more for the competition?
Now it's between this and the KTM 390 Adv
I had a 390 Adv, but didn’t like it. Too much like a road bike. I’ve ordered a Superdual X, hoping it’s more dirt friendly
@@snbird yeah, that's kinda where I'm at too. For me it's currently between the Superdual and KLR not that I have the money for it at the moment :)

1. Any reliability issues?
2. Would you buy it again?
