By the way, he shows them at the same time, with a flourish and keeping the 3 back a little from the 8. There is a trick going around Internet which is a different play on the same theme - we don't pay attention to the cards we didn't pick. It shows you six cards and asks you to remembre one of your own chosing. Then he shows you the cards again and lo and behold, your card disappeared. Wow. Now do it again, but write down the cards on the first batch. Then let the trick play through, and compare: none of those cards are in the second batch. when you do the trick you shouldn't mention the name of the card just have the spectator say yes or no to each card. When you mention the name of the card you run the risk of embedding it in their brain and more of a chance of them realizing they saw the same card twice.

How to make the location of the third card at the beginning not obvious? Should you just look really fast or what? Because wouldn't the audience in front of you really easily see that you're looking at the cards quite specifically?

I did it on my prom night and i just watch the original video for like 200 times a do it half chris way and half my way... I just learn it, that trick from the video :D its not that hard but definetely not the easiest... best show for prom night :D

A great variation to a card trick I learned in the mid 80's. Same trick, different presentation. This is great.
I like moving the forced card to the 2nd position, so you only have to do the glide one time, and the spectator doesn't see the same card twice.
