I can't believe Andols ever thought he wasn't as good as he is. I live with depression so I understand it but it's just awesome watching him just being a beast.
@@RobArnoldWorld With all that pussy singing! LMAO! I actually love that song. I totally understand your beef with it at the time, but I do love that tune.
Andols is hands down one of the best 2000s metal drummers ever. He's so well rounded, and he added so much to all the amazing riffs you guys had, and you can noticeably tell the lack of his presence on the albums he wasn't a part of. No other drummer added as much to the bands music like he did. Man is not only a machine, but a clock.
Chimaira had the most brutal live shows back in the early 2000's that I went to. This is so rad to see behind the scenes with funny commentary. Thank you Rob for sharing 🤘😎
I've really enjoyed these, Rob. Please keep 'em coming! I love the little nuggets of knowledge such as the fact that 'Dead Inside' began life from one of Chris' samples - pure gold! Loved your guys' music most of my life and much like Pantera, when I re-visit your albums I'm reminded of why I hold you so highly. And a massive shout out to Mark, I dig his vocals massively and love the Crown of Phantoms work. You're low key one of the most influential guitarists to me and I didn't even realise it until earlier this year...been playing since 2005......it's been a rocky road, shall we say......let's leave it at that ;) Horns up!
Rob, coming across your channel has caused me to sift back through Chimaira's music and I just need to say that you all had such a great band. You all were underrated as far as I'm concerned and I never got to see you all live. I grew up in the in late 80s and 90s and saw tons of bands. My cousin grew up with and played with the guys in Flaw and that's when I got into Chimaira, so early 2000s. Anyway just wanted to communicate that over to ya. 🤟
Very cool seeing the level of dedication to pre-production. Dissection and refinement all the way. Having the drive to re-record over and over just to get better is elite level work ethic for sure, no pun intended...
Please do more of these. I love the Chimaira writing rehearsal and recording footage, especially your input on these videos now and seeing how far it's all come and developed as musicians. The more the better.
I'm so thankful this channel exists. Chimaira may be over but your RUclips channel has gotten me closer to the band than ever! Thanks, Rob, and I wish you the best!
After finally getting the opportunity to record an album in a studio, these videos are something I can relate to. I totally enjoy watching and seeing the similarities that bands experience when prepping and jamming. Keep ‘em coming!
Loved y’all since my high school days when Pass out of Existence came out. Would scream into my speakers singing Sp Lit, Painting the White to Grey, etc. that album is a cult classic in my eyes now. It’s why I wanted to become a singer but learning your riffs is always fun as hell! Chimaira for life!!!
The riff MFA played was the intro/outro riff to 'Stays The Same' that I actually did a HQ cover of this particular week! Would love if you checked it out Rob!
Genuinely loving these videos Rob! I absolutely appreciate seeing how it's all broken down and dissected so much. Always struggled with breaking down songs since I was so impatient but I can definitely see the beauty of dissecting it now.
Love to see these rehearsal videos Rob. Thanks for sharing with us and letting us see inside of what it is to be in Chimaira. As always very inspirational 🤘
This stuff is awesome!!! Please do more. The making of and behind the scenes stuff is great, especially for us guitar players. I look forward to all of videos and can't wait to see more of the studio build as well 🤘🏼
Keep the videos coming, Rob. They're great, especially when I'm stuck at home and rely on RUclips to keep me entertained. Chimaira is still a big part of my life so more content is better.
I’d LOVE to hear more! I love hearing Chimaira songs in their infancy plus I record at home with Studio One, Superior Drummer, running direct with my GT-1000 so I’m always interested in others recording and song writing process, especially when it’s from one of my all time favorite bands 😃😃😃 Thanks for sharing with us!
This is so cool! I think we'd love some more of this style of video! Looked like you had a ton of fun making this album! Pretty cool to see the process behind the creation of these songs 🤘🤘 you guys shred!!!!
Thanks again Rob for another kick ass video!! Love the content and how you guys did it back in the day. Inspiring me more and more on my own journey with my power metal band that I play drums for. I think you would like it. Old school power groove metal. That’s another story. Put more videos up bud!!! You have any ones you could put together with you guys in the studio? Drum takes, guitars, bass, & vocals? That would be great. I’ll be on the lookout.
Love seeing the more human side to the band and recordings, keep up with the awesome content Rob! \m/ I started recording songs a couple months ago, and the learning curve is HUGE! The stuff you talk about in in your videos I can definitely relate to. More recording tips and tricks would be great man! And as a bass player I really appreciated that last part with Jim man!

Awesome dude! Post or send me a pic on IG or FB if you can! And I just might have some alternate covers I can share. I'd have to run it by the guys though to make sure it's cool first. 🤘
Another great video taking us behind the scenes. I loved the working titles, being a Steve. I can't believe you guys worked on this album right down the road from where I used to live in Sanford. Also, I appreciate the quick recording tip for dual tracks to create.a master... Beats re-tracking a song completely for one little miscue.

Once again thank you for another video and of course we want more!! Love to watch you play 💗🎸
Hey Rob, I personally think if you have the footage, you might as well put it out there for us to see. It really can't do any harm to anyone by having extra videos out. There are so many albums that I wish had behind the scenes footage from other bands or maybe they do have them but it was never released. I do have a question though that ties in to this subject and maybe it can be covered in a future video. Considering how you mentioned that you dissect every little part and are very thorough and particular about the songwriting process, how does it work when Mark and Spicuzza write their parts after the four of you have written the main song structure? Curious to know how much say you have on whether a sample or vocal pattern or even lyrics will stay in the song or how it might change the feel or outcome. Lyrics, especially, can make or break a song. Thanks for all the great videos!
Hey Rob! Love these videos bro so keep them coming! Us fans would never get bored of your content and I personally love watching the process of you guys putting these songs together or behind the scenes footage showing how you did certain things. I sometimes wish I could share some of my old bands footage to people if I still had them. Keep up the good work man! 🤘
Dude one of my favorite DVDs of all time is the one from the second album because it has all the studio stuff in it. I love that sort of stuff. If you've got more, put it out there. I'll, at the very least, watch it.

Watching Andols play the title track, it really shows what he brought to the band, he has the fills and double kicks, but he has this sense of swing and groove that was really unique to him, the other Chimaria drummers were monsters also but he had this style that was really interesting. This is one thing that really set the band apart from their peers
Hey Rob, yes please - keep these coming! Also, if it's not too difficult, maybe set-up a zoom call with MDV, Jim or Mark and run a group commentary? Would love to hear those blokes thoughts, feelings and stories from their perspective as well. \m/ Much love from Sydney.
