Reflecting on his divorce from Christine Baumgartner last year, the seasoned actor shared how he managed to maintain a brave face despite feeling completely "broken" from the end of his two-decade-long marriage.
Costner revealed that he threw himself entirely into his upcoming production, "Horizon: An American Saga," to cope with the turmoil. He said, “I’m not going to lose myself. And what I’m going to do is - because we are now after the white whale, okay? So I can’t let go of this rope no matter how much my heart’s on the ground, no matter how broken I may be on a daily basis, I can’t let go of this rope because if I do, this thing called Horizon will stop.”
He emphasized that it wasn’t about prioritizing the film over his other commitments but honoring the "level of responsibility to those guys that invested with me." Costner continued, “And so it doesn’t matter how much water’s hitting me in the face, I can’t let go of the rope that is this thing.”
