Emo tried to kill the metal, but Emo killed itself.
Nice One
Steve B Hahah
Literal and figurative
Damn that’s the funniest comment I’ve ever seen on RUclips. Good job Steve B
Oh no 😂😂😂😂😂
Did jack black just do a perfect tornado kick?
Gwyn's Last Knight but them nut punches though
Gwyn's Last Knight For a rather... stout guy, Jack Black's really agile!
It's because he's kung fu panda
I would say it is comparable to Connor McGregor's.
That because of the training he went through for the kung fu panda trilogy.
Tenacious D is one of the few bands where a live performance also includes a boss battle.
lol made my day
Iron Maiden and Eddie
i want to see a showdown between Eddie and the metal
HAHAHAHAH XD
I like how The Metal doesn't see Techno as a challenge at all.
None of them was a challenge.
Because it is not.
Metal is forever, techno is like some biodegradable thing
@Zarion 11 Anti-Christ
“Thechno? You’re kidding, right?”
"I hear machinery.. making modern music." That reference is gold.
Run to the hills!!!
No it’s Rush, Spirit Of The Radio 😅
@@fluffyfortin1766 I think the reply meant his Iron Maiden reference after he said the line from Rush's song
ITS RUSH!
It took 5 years, but here is your 666th like brother! *\m/,*
I don't know what's more impressive; the fact that Col. Sanders, Charlie Chaplin, and Jesus are in the band, or Jack Black being able to do karate AND jump.
He is Po Panda! He must know karate! (I don't even mind about deactivating lasers with his dick xD!)
Thats not jesus its anti christ
CurtisAlfeld All that's missing is Carmen sandiego and Bruce Willis.
He can't jump in Brutal Legend
Fidel Guerra the most under appreciated comment
Damn... Jack Black has a LOT of energy. XD
Yeah
the metal powers him
Though hes fat, he is more agile than me lol. Did you see those kicks?!
hell yeah he does
literal Bob from tekken
yo that jump kick at 3:05 was pretty damn impressive
+Jordy R That is probably one of the last things I would have ever expected from JB lol
+Hugh Jaynus dont say that thats jack black and when you see jack black you use the whole name jack black
+Jordy R It's a butterfly kick
+Lord_Trumoo Most metal butterfly kick ever \m/
Jack likes to call it the Iron Butterfly. Get it? ;) :P
That awful, awful moment, when a parody band pulls a better gig than most of today's serious metal bands... And you still love them!
+Plamen Dobrev Dunno what your'e talking about, but I loved that moment!
+Plamen Dobrev
Wouldn´t call it parody. I think comedy metal is the better word but you´re right - Tenacious D totally rocks.
+Plamen Dobrev is not a metal band ._.
+AssKickedXL 99% of metal band literally just stand in one spot playing their instruments, rarely if ever moving. the singer might walk back and forth across the stage, there might be some headbanging and helicopter head banging, but they dont really give a SHOW. i stopped bothering going to cannibal corpse concerts for that exact reason. i dont go to listen to the music that i have in higher quality on CD. i go to see a show and be entertained.
+Tetra Digm So, basically, something on the order of the shit KISS and Rammstein pull?
Can we talk about how the dude playing The Metal was moving so fluidly in that giant suit?
😂He was giving his best
JR Reed.
He's pretty cool
THE DUDE? You mean, LEEEEEEEEEE?!!?
jack black's voice is severely underrated
I agree, i think he is more musically talented than 90% of the top artists today.
Not anymore after the Mario Bros movie dropped.
Who the hell says he has a bad voice??? Literally everyone knows jack black is a good singer.
@@I_am_a_cat_he never said "bad", he said underappreciated.
@@leoborn4013It’s not bad but of course he had to do it for the movie so don’t blame him.
1:45 that harmonization was heavenly
1:54 am i the only one impressed by that vocal range?
1:56 Sounded obviously autotuned to my ears.
I don't think it was autotune, but I'm not sure
DamnationEternal You must not know what Autotune sounds like....
Brock Martin Not to act like a parrot but i would say the same to you, it might not be as blatant as the autotuning used by "singers" like Kesha or T-Pain but here they apparently chose to add a unnatural effect on Jacks voice for just two seconds 1:56-1:58. P.S Just to clarify i am not "hating" on the band, i myself listen to a fair share of bands that utilize vocal effects like distortion etc.
Don't be too impressed, that's supported head voice. Not a about range, it's a technique anyone can use. As for the autotune debate: It does sound unnatural, but people have been known to sometimes produce unnatural sounding noises. Also note that Kyle's mic is close to Jack's mouth there. The crosstalk should've exposed applied pitch correction, but it seems it didn't.
“I hear machinery, making modern music.” The most subtle Rush reference ever. So great.
The Metal has nipple rings.
+John Keys Naturely, what else should The Metal have?
nice catch i did not see that
Duh!
Probably a Prince Albert too😂
When you realize that Jack Black is re-enacting Kung Fu Panda all over again xD
I don’t think he pulls the Super Nuttercut in Kung Fu Panda
@@PG_Biggins deleted scene :)

0:34 RUN TO THE HILLS
Joey Saldana RUUUUUUN FO' YOUR LIIIIIIIIIVEEEEEEES!!!!
I wonder how many people missed that allusion.
Galloping through ghost lands and Barron wastes.
@@jw9662 that and the "sounds like machinery.. making modern music" reference right before it lol
Best iron maiden reference
When he said "I hear machinery, making modern music." That's actually a line from Rush's "The Spirit of Radio". That's awesome.
1:54 Those harmonies are on par with Queen and Alice in Chains. Blessed be Tenacious D!
For me he sounded a little like Chris Cornell in his early recordings
140 people are trying to kill the metal and will FAIL.
1:54 I think we should take some time to appreciate Jacks Vocals
1:55 Jack's voice is so amazing, so clean and brilliant
This is so stupid... that it has transcended into epic badassery.
Tenacious D in a sentence
Run for the hills!
- i think i know what it is ...
- What is it ?!
- Mordekaiser
Number uno, shield always win.
+Karthus Pentakill Morde enemy :/
Karthus Pentakill when the enemy mordekaiser is feed xd
hueheuheuheuhuehuehuehueee
Karthus Pentakill lol
JB still surprises me every time with his vocals. Guy can sing.
One of the tastiest riffs ive heard ever. I love the D. Bout time to watch the movie again.
That roundhouse kick was impressive as hell, but can we get some appreciation to the editor for adding the subtle little swoosh sound effect
The camera effect for "The Metal's" entrance is a nice touch
3:06 Dude... Jack Black will fuck you up
unexpected, but very well executed!
Steven Young Considering how fat Jack Black is, i was surprised he could pull that move off!
So good I bought the whole dvd pack.
MrTohawk worth it?
Bubbles
It is.
Justin Bieber tried to destroy The Metal, but he failed when he walked into a glass window.
Makoto Mikami lmfao :)))))))))
True
Justin Beiber tried to destroy the metal but he had a tantrum as a bottle was thrown at him
+Makoto Mikami hahaha
lil wayne tried to kill the metal. hahaha...
I was just utterly blown away by that capoeira kick. It was literally perfect form and he got a ton of air
When i realised The Metal is the pizza-dude from the pick of destiny i died laughing ahaha xD
He wants revenge for what Kyle did to his car.
3:15 Dark Souls
"YOU CAN'T KILL THE METAL! THE METAL WILL LIVE ON!"
"You can't kill the metal... The metal will live on" \m/
Doctor: "You have 3 minutes and 59 seconds left."
Me:
THE METAL IS UNDEFEATED TRUELY
Jesus on guitar playing metal.
Its actually the anti christ. Watch Beezlebub live, he says it there
Best comment of all time
I mean... Have you seen his hairstyle? It's heavy metal af
NOTHING CAN DESTROY THE METAL!!!!!! ITS JUST TOO AWESOME!!!!
0:27 Oh, JB. There really was no rush to make that reference, you know.
Lmao "i hear machinery...making modern music." XD
TurkeyRaider that's fucking golden
I was hoping someone else caught that
TurkeyRaider spirit of the radio reference?
Yep
It can still be open hearted, at least on the one condition that it's not so coldly charted.
Saw them in Dallas 4 years ago, I get to go see them September Again! I can't wait! They are rock Gods!!!!!
Jesus is pretty sick on guitar
Descubrí está joya gracias a Guitar Hero, 15 años después sigue siendo de mis canciones favoritas de ese juego
Every time I'm feeling low, this song shoots me back up into the air!
was too distracted by the performance to realize jesus christ himself is playing the guitar
It's actually the anti christ. Watch Beezlebub live he says it there
All of the Karen's and religious people will be mindblown to see that Jesus Christ has loved Metal all along. Which is opposite of what they have assumed since the 60's, lol.
the metal scares the shit outta me.
0:28 when jack says "i heard a machinery, making modern music..." he refers to rush's song spirit of the radio, that have the same verse in the 4th chorus :)
That second ahhh note jack black hit was gold!
This must've been the fucking greatest show, I wish I could see them if they ever decide to do another album
The best heavy metal song in the world..!!!
The whole galaxy should witness this greatness in music history !
hands down to the Metal, Metal is so unbeatable
Jack can not only sing, act and write music and movies, but he also got one of the smoothest and most effortless kung fu moves in the GAME, truly he and Kyle are LEGENDARY, and I salute them!!!!........
0:56 the guy who just yelled hail satan in the background is a fucking mood
That moment when you realize that the comic relief actor known world-wide as "The fat guy" is way more athletic than you are and is fully capable of preforming a perfect tornado kick...
Nobody calls him that
Jack was a complete man, he could do all.. all the things from acting to singing playing guitar and some karate 🥂
The guy in the Metal suit killed it.
That guy in "THE METAL" outfit had to be enjoying the hell out of this
The fact that Black can sing like that while moving around says something!!
These guys are a national treasure!
Metal is not the greatest genre in the world, metal is just a tribute
Jack black just did a perfect tornado kick, front kick and a roll. Impressive
0:52
"I think I know what it is..."
"HAIL SATAN!!!"
This comment has aged for seven whole years and has only gotten four likes. Plus one, including mine.
Wtf
Weird ass niggas
It's nice to see you here Swegta :)
Altar of sacrifice by Slayer
Dude! Jack Black just blew my mind with that spinning kick haha
Twelve years later, JB is still my favourite metal vocalist.
i’ll tell you what, Jack Black is one hell of a showman
This must have been one of the best concerts ever performed.
Damn, those were some well executed kicks.
this is so good that I dont even know how it's not illegal
What a kick from this man 🥺
dat nirvana reference is just AWESOME ... 02:30 (drums)
+C ourage You're awesome if you were able to hear that :D
+C ourage Strangely enough, Jack cites Nirvana as being the best concert he ever went to.
It took me a couple listens but I got it.
wat
Oh shit. I'm surprised I even got that after reading the comment.
Possibly the greatest true story ever told via the medium of music
The metal is a truly a powerful thing, being able to fight the Dragon Warrior and remain standing
10 years on this song still kills it :)~
That drum part is really hard, props to the drummer. Hail Dave Grohl!
The only comment about the drumming, couldn’t be without it. ❤️👌🏼
That is Brooks Wackerman on drums my friend
Thats not dave grohl... thats Brooks Wackerman
Wacker.
As in Brooks "The Master Drum" Wacker.
I know. I'm saying that the part was written by Dave Grohl
and that Brooks does it justice. My apologies @@nR00R
Colonel sanders killing it on the drums
Metal with those dance moves tho
incredible show. incredible performance. Jack black you are a master, i cant even find the words to describe what i think of your greatness. I wish i could see that kind of show live. At least i can see it on youtube, thanks to the uploader. Greetings from Argentina.
Grunge and punk rock are friends with metal. It is that music that hides behind auto tune and a computer.
Agreed
They’re all different ways of addressing the same issue. Modern pop is the music that ignores every issue.
I love tenacious d my brother introduced me to it now cant stop !!!
“I hear machinery.. making modern music..” 😆 proof Jack Black is a true Rush fan
1:34 The way RageKage just pokes The Metal 🤣🤣🤣
Damn these guys legit give me chills LOL
The most metal tenacious d song, THE METAL!
Just got my tickets to see them in Wilmington, NC September 9th!! I am SO STOKED!!
1:42 anyone else love how lifeless the metal looks doing some sick ass moves
Then proceeds to shadow box
Jack Black is surprisingly athletic.
Accumating over 78 bands and music makers as victims, The Metal remains undefeated in the world of music.
You can never destroy the metal!
They harmonize so well it’s insane one of the greatest voices I’ve heard in rock.
this song is better than it's supposed to be
I went to that concert and it was just awesome and I saw jack black in PERSON!
ahhh, jack black. never ceases to confuse the hell out of me.
I need him to teach to do that Tornado kick flawlessly
"I hear machinery making modern music". Nice Rush reference.
I saw these guys last month! One of the most entertaining shows I have EVER been to!
Jack Black is the unsung metal singer/martial arts we all need but don’t deserve
