Why is there so much malice in people? A man has won a lot recently, and when he loses once and draws three times in a classic game, he is suddenly criticized from all sides. It's obvious that sometimes he will do well and sometimes not. The fact that he says he wants to play good games and have fun shows that he tries to approach the tournament without pressure. And after losing, people can write things like: "He lost to Vidit, so he has his content". Why? The other players with the same number of points are supported, and Hikaru, although his score is worse than many people expected, is criticized.

This is a great interview, asking good and pointed questions that the guest is willing to elaborate on. You got a great answer, it's really well done!
I agree with Nakamura, chess people should show more to the public and put themselves out there. But that's my selfish POV, I get it if someone just wants to study the game and not deal with fans. But they should consider that if more people want to watch, then they'll attract more sharp minds to the game and the prize pool will increase - so it's not just good for the fans but it's good for chess and for chess nerds too.

Hikaru is right. You don't have to do anything to help promote the game, but if you are going to complain about the prize pools, then you better be doing something to help promote the game, or else you are a hypocrite. It's a similar argument to complaining about elections, while also claiming that you don't vote.
And this is my first time learning of an eclipse. It gets dark every day, so what's the big deal? I cared about that stuff when I was an impressionable child, but now that I'm older I really don't see what the fuss is about.
