Johnny was a very dear friend of mine and I miss him greatly - as do we all. Johnny was inspired by all of the steam bent solid drums that he grew up with and so am I. The actual manufacturing of the shells is rudimentary. What sets a solid shell apart are the treatments and components that make the the finished drum.
I love the sound but not the price , I can make my black beauty or Supra sounds if not better equal to this , of course with all do respect, dunnette may have money to spend all on details which is very valuable , BTW signia premier snares has the same future on removing the snare exact same way . Just wondering which one did it first
Over the years I have used many wood shell suppliers for both ply and solid shells. I choose these manufacturers based on quality and their ability to meet my specifications.
Thanks for the excellent video Nick!
😎👊
Another great review Nick!
I have never, ever had a bad
experience with Ronn's drums!
No matter what material the
shell is made of!
Very nice drum,great presentation Nick.
Very nice. First hearing of Dunnett. Won’t be the last.
Very precise & informative review! :)))
What microphone is being used for the snare? Sorry if I missed it. Good content!
Would love to see you demonstrate the Ludwig Bronze snares...one of my favourites.
Influenced by Johnny C I would say. That throw off is very nifty.

Doesn’t Unix make the solid shell drums for Dunnett?

It sounds a bit like the Tama SLP G Maple 13x7”..
10/31? What a pity it isn't Halloween-themed. Gorgeous drum, regardless.
Review sonor sq1 please
