Happy anniversary and, no, thank you. Thanks for coming up with this channel, the videos, and the idea. It makes my Fridays all the sweeter. Also, thanks Dylan and David for all the work you two do. You guys are killing it. Also, thanks for covering the Questions and Answers, when you didn't need to, at least for me specifically. Lastly, on a related note, I love guessing what games are coming the following week. Really ups the anticipation
These remind me how old I am lol, but always the first thing I look for on Friday now, reminds me of old video stores and not creaking when I move, thanks for these jerd and co
@@Nowinthe90s happy 1st anniversary!!! :3 love time gal's star(like reika was inspired by lum from urusei yatsura, she also shows up in castle of shikigami 2 with a redesign and would love a switch rerelease with the 90's anime games we've seen return/along with mail from popful mail would definitely be my obscure picks for super smash bros. 6 with her time stop.:3) & animation(favorite of the laserdisc fmv adventure games & especially love the music in the original/beautiful song in the sega cd version.) having fun with the time travel aspect(especially her funny chibi death scenes.)and is awesome the tales of series creators worked on it.
Given that so many smaller titles often got forgotten in broader retrospectives/documentaries about gaming, Now in the 90s is a really effective reminder about some underrated releases (and whatever wacky sports titles that Dylan encounters).
To the team behind this show, thanks for making this a part of my week that I always look forward to. As I get older I find more joy in having consistent yet chill content that I can tell people are having fun with. I hope you guys always have time to relax for yourselves, because the stuff you do really does help me decompress after a long day.
Tiny Toon Adventures: Buster's Hidden Treasure is my favorite game of all time. Not just because it was the first game I've ever played, but mainly because its the game I can go back to and play many, many times and never get tired of it.
How did Blaster Master 2 get highlighted and Buster's Hidden Treasure downgraded to the quickies? I mean, it's not Rocket Knight, but I can still hum the fist level or the overworld theme (which are both a bit weirdly creepy and uncanny, but still iconic). It's one of the better Sonic clones from the era.
@@mademedothis424 excellent question. Maybe because Blaster Master is more iconic in the gaming zeitgeist since it was a cult hit on NES. Tiny Toon could easily be disregarded as yet another mediocre tie in game, but it's far better.
@@BladeBlur In the US maybe. I had not heard about Blaster Master until Zero came out, and to this day I have never seen a physical copy. The NES wasn't as much of a big deal in general, but I knew multiple people with one. I saw more copies of Willow than Blaster Master, though.
9:41 this segment with „Tuff E Nuff“ was gold. 😂 I was so confused when I saw this title the first time in the Super Nintendo collection of the Switch Online membership.
Wow. Congratulations on a year of this show. It's been a huge milestone. And I remember seeing the first episode on ProJared's channel. Now it's got its own channel. Let's keep this going.
Reika the Time Gal also made an appearance as a playable character in the 2005 arcade shoot ‘em up Castle of Shikigami III, since the game was also published by Taito. The only Western release of the game and Time Gal’s appearance in it was on the 2007 Wii port.
@@jackronesto8182 No, there was some game that had castle in the title that was a normal game on console but had adult themes on pc. I never played it myself though so can't remember the name.
Congratulations, Now In The 90s! Turning into this channel very friday has become a weekly tradition for me. You know its Friday when it's a new Now In The 90s video is up! Hope to continue this tradition🎉
This version of Time Gal was quite censored, if you wanna play this get the PS1 version it has full English support, better graphics, and quality of life improvements like level select and more continues.
I remember renting Tuff E Nuff as a kid multiple times. Having recently tried it again on the NSO SNES emulator, I realize that was a terrible decision
Congratulations for the anniversary! Editor Dylan obviously looks like a frail fighter dressed in chain mail, what else. I am looking forward to a month from now to see releases on my OG birthday week!
Lol, Idd-E-Utt Congratulations on one whole year! This show has been a weekly 10-15 minutes of relaxation after work that I think I've come to rely on a little! Here's to many more years!
Congratulations! What a milestone, the first anniversary of Now in the 90s. I remember hearing you talk about the project, watching the first episode. It instantly clicked. You guys are doing an amazing job. Joy bring joy to the hearts of loads of people.
I would like you to cover Bubble Bobble Part 2. Bubble Bobble Part 2, known in Japan as Bubble Bobble 2 is a game in the Bubble Bobble series. While it was never released in the arcade, two versions of the game were developed independently from each other (for the NES and Game Boy systems), with each game receiving a different story line as a result. The Game Boy version is known in Japan as Bubble Bobble Junior.
Shoutouts to Jared, David and Dylan for giving us such an informative show about gaming every Friday and showing us all the hits and bombs we missed as a kid. You guys are the goat. Also happy anniversary of the show c:
I look forward to entries in this series eagerly. I watch it with my 9 yr old daughter and she loves it too. Thank you for making it and keep it up buddy!
In the words of Frosty The Snow Man, "Happy birthday!", Now In The 90s! And I'm really glad you didn't waste any time talking about one of the greatest Pinball Machines ever made.
Buster's Hidden Treasure was one of the first games I ever played. As far as Sonic knockoffs go, I'd say it's one of the very best. I still play it every so often.
This is easily one of the best shows / channels on RUclips (my personal fav). Thanks so much for doing this, it's been a pleasure & I can't wait to see what else comes. Once we hit the late 90's (if it's still going in a few years) it'll be fun to see N64 titles, but I'd love to see some PC titles included then as I started to get into PC gaming around '96. My first console betrayal wasn't until the Playstation with Final Fantasy 7, so I got it on PC instead. Oddly ported by Eidos who Square would later end up owning.
Thank you all again for ONE YEAR of the show! We can't wait to bring you more every single week. Hopefully for at least seven years more, am I right??
I'm really glad that this has lasted a whole year, because this helps put the games in perspective.
Happy first year! This show is a highlight of my week, alongside Video Works!
