This days any laptop can produce music it depends on ur workload. Ur workload determines the level of computer u use . Even an iPad can produce music so any laptop should do most Daws minimum requirements is i3 dual core
Yes, technology has improved immensely since I started 18 years ago! The current iPads even offer Logic Pro which is awesome for those getting started!
yeah lmao i make music on an iphone fucking 15 i was ordering a laptop but i canceled the order cuz im overthinking the specs i need cuz i had fl lag up on me because of no ram
Thank you for the advice.I am looking to get an iMac for Logic X.I have to factor in Audio Interface too.I used to keep my Apple Loops and so much more on two External Drives plus a Time Machine Drive and One more drive. So I'm confused by the available USB connections on newer Macs !
That’s in an AWESOME computer setup! 👍 Better than most people have (including myself). I would say that any Mac computer with an M1 chip (or newer), with 16GB of RAM and 1TB is more than enough to get anyone started with music production.
@@devinjones5199 when recording with effects try bringing down the buffer size of your recording software and (if you use Logic Pro) make sure that “Low Latency Monitoring” is selected.
@@devinjones5199 then I don’t know what the issue is. depending on the audio interface you use, some have direct monitoring which lets you hear the dry signal without latency. You’ll just need to add the effects in posted
I guarantee it’s the ram or cpu. Both of mine are dogshit and my latency is dogshit lmao. What daw you got? Cause I figured out a way to fix latency on flstudio even without upgrading anything
I have an older model 2015 intel core i7 16 gb storage 500gb . it still runs . do you think this is good enough . i have hesitated to add all the plugins because i feel i should get a new one that will last me a good 7-10 years. THis one will last but dont want to push it. what are you thoughts.
I would only upgrade IF your need to. If your sessions are crashing or the computer keeps freezing or it’s taking forever to load plugins etc… With that being said, i upgraded a few years back from an Intel Mac to a M1 Pro MacBook and the difference is night and day. Incredibly fast! 😊

Nice! I’m a Mac user myself and I love Logic Pro. 😊

What would be good for like EZDrummer or other drums?
@@jellyjam138 I would recommend getting 16GB of RAM to run those types of plugins
