Swap out the Gimbals for 4 fixed size 3s and you'll match the firepower of the Freelancer and C1 Spirit. I run 4 Panthers on my Cutlass Blue currently. If you have a friend along to man the Turret you instantly out gun any other ship in it's size range and find out where this ship really shines. A decent Cutlass Pilot combined with a good Turret Gunner can make short work of anything smaller than a Connie. Many times I've had my Turret Gunner take out an Arrow or a M50 while I was still turning to get a shot. The only real weakness in the Cutlass Series is the fact that if you lose an engine you are pretty much done. The only thing you can do is go into VTOL but you lose a lot of forward/backward maneuvering when you do this.

Another great review. I’ll be glad when this ship gets a remodel

I still like this more than the C1. I hope they give it a refresh though, some things really scream "old" (and I don't mean changing the style, I love that raw, harsh, metal look that it has everywhere)

If you go ROC mining, the cutlass black ist you best choice. The ROC does not really fit into the freelancer and the C1 does need a football field to land.
But I hate how much hydrogen fuel it soaks up at atmosphere.

I wouldn't say that the tractor beam is useless, just could be improved. It allows for quicker transfer of cargo between the loading ramp and the outside, limiting the work needed to be done on the inside.

Exactly, people want the world yet this a drake ship. The less running back and forth you need to do males it so this is still useful.
Drag the boxes in range of your cargo chucker to pick them up and load up without having to leave the ship.
Meanwhile the freelancer has no beam.
My favorite is C2 owners seeing the writing on the wall and demanding it gets a beam. 3.23 is going to force timers or loading by hand and suddenly the king of cargo is challenged by the Caterpillar and taurus for convenience. Also emphasizes the role of the c2 as a vehicle hauler with the ability to chuck some boxes inside as well.

it's the multirole monster and with the panther all around, no gimbal, it's a panther hunting for eggs or widow maybe

of all the ships i have right now i use the Cutty Black the most. Corsair and C2 are to big for some things and i cant fit a Roc in myC8 or Cutter.

Wtf mate. The cutlass black is a work of art. Did you just start playing? The love they put into the rework set the bench for the rest.

I dunno about comparing it with those other ships. There really is nothing at all at this price point that competes, I was hoping c1 was going to be that ship but it’s not it.

I cant stand flying cutlass because of one thing: Cockpit light. Its too bright and the screens reflect it it's simply bad. Well lit scenes are okay but when there is dark outside it blinds me. So I would love this ship but I am bitter about it and don't fly it ever.

I am utterly convinced they placed the tractor beam turret poorly in order to have an easy successful "fix" to check off later, giving themselves more work that is as easy and predictable as possible, and can be understood by the average player as an objective improvement.
They seem to do that a lot. It's a controversial opinion but the game is riddled with flaws that are simple design flaws and not just "not working correctly".

For a lot of design, the idea that "If I did my job perfectly, you won't notice I did anything at all.", while In a project like Star Citizen it is utterly critical to make development impact as frequent and visible as possible in order to continue funding.
