- Dozens of NYCHA apartments in the Sotomayor houses in the Bronx have been without hot water for a total of 14 days since the end of October. Jim Dolan spoke to the residents.

Smallest of gas leak/repair Con Ed shuts down service. Even if the leak is fixed, Con Ed takes a lifetime to get back and restore service. They don't discriminate who they are. They shut your a5s down. Coldest of cold days, your gas boiler obviously won't work. They don't give 2 fyck's.
Haven't you people gotten it yet? Just keep voting for them, that's all they want.

horrible how can people live this way when the owners are collecting their rent money and using it for their own expenses when it’s needed to be for repairs for them (SAD)
How much money in rent do you think they collect? I'm on the tenants side! But it's not like the city gets money for rent to cover basic expenses! The residents don't pay gas, electric, or water!

Why should it take for you guy's to have to be called in before they try and act as if their doing something about it. They treat us as if we're beneath them. I am also a tenant. It's a shame. We have to call a number that only takes complaint, and issues a ticket number. This is a shame before God. There aware that these things are going on. Yet they do nothing I've had water that flooded from upstairs apartment from pipe in bathroom. It was on all three rooms for 2 days. I'm Disabled. Yet no one came. NYCHA is out of control, and we call on you the City to make it right. Your aware of this ongoing problem.
This happens in all buildings! Maybe more in public housing! The residents must have forgotten how old nycha is! They are not perfect! And they also don't bring in enough funds to keep nycha going correctly .. My friend once told me, if you're not happy, do something about it instead of complaining! That goes for jobs & your living situations! Maybe this isn't the case for seniors & the disabled but ... Maybe the only way to fix nycha, is to demolish them & start over! The buildings are old while the surrounding buildings are modern with less issues! Central heating, air conditioning, air circulation, indoor parking, etc...
Clean buildings, no pee in elevators, broken lobby doors, modern appliances, windows, crime-free, etc! The nycha workers, work hard and they try to keep the buildings clean! So it's all NYCHA'S fault.. Maybe they don't have the funds for new boilers? Who knows!

Nobody wants to live in NYCHA... If you knew anything you would have retract that comment, it's illiterate. People move where they can't afford to live, and yes they made that choice instead of being homeless. If you knew anything about how the system works projects etc. You would be in the know
They also know the problems that comes with living in NYCHA! So yes.. It's true! Move in, & complain after! I'm on the tenants side! However, like my friend told me many times, if you're not happy, move! Or stay for generations & complain! There's excuses for that too! If one really wanted a better quality of life living, they would find a way! Save, work hard, move! I have no kids bc I can't afford them! I guess that's called responsibility..
They know that you won't get the same luxury if they move out! I used to be embarrassed as a kid when I lived with a fam member in NYCHA! The pee in the elevator was daily! Who wants to live like that? Years later, the residents & their kids still pee in elevators! Nothing changed! The hot water & heat goes off where I live too! Things could be worst! Like paying 6500 for a 2 bedroom with no heat thanks to urban renewal & .....
Why wouldn’t they just move out… this makes no sense.
