Hold your hand upside down immediately after application to get the apex with the help of gravity. You can begin to cure this way for a few seconds and then flip hand over for the remaining time.
With builder gel I would recommend after the base gel apply a thin layer of gel and do NOT cure it under the lamp , after that you want to add a thicker layer in a “u” form (if you can angle your finger down to use faculty to help) and then turn your finger upside down so the gel can self level and add an apex to the correct part of your nail, then cure like you normally would. I would recommend doing one nail at a time ✨
Can Someone please help me with this : Im using Born Pretty 8 in 1 builder gel. Im putting on a thin coat an curing it 2 min it still remains sticky 😕 What am i doing wrong please?
thank you for showing you putting on a mask & glasses! i wish people did that more often bc it’s important for viewers to see and follow those steps. i see so many people doing this stuff unmasked and it’s so dangerous for your lungs and eyes with the particles in the air 😭 a dust collector alone isn’t enough
I think base gel for builder gel is KEY! I would have some lifting after 3 weeks (i kick butt on my nail prep 100%) and after I started adding base gel under the builder gel, builder will last me at least 1 month no lifting!!!
Hey BIAB user here! My best tip is definitely to use a very thin coat and DO NOT CURE but then add a bead on and float the gel generally over the nail then flip your hand upside down for like 10 seconds. Most BIAB is self levelling so can leak onto side walls very quickly so make sure to work fast and cure asap
Polish the gel in thin coats like you're doing regular polish, let settle for 10 seconds and then cure full 60 seconds in between each layer. It will allow you to BUILD them as thick or thin as you'd like and you don't have to do a ton of filing. You're welcome 😊
Try a different builder gel that is not so runny. Also try keeping it just in the middle and then use a thin liner brush to do the sides it will prevent flooding. Flip you finger upside will help level it in middle for the right structure. Modelones or bottles both have good builder in a bottle. I personally prefer potted builder gels they tend to be thicker n move less but most are hard gel and you just fill
Perfect timing!! I just ordered some builder gel in clear and natural. This helps with the different steps. Im hoping builder gel will help my nails grow longer without breaking 😊
Just tried doing a flower for the first time on my nails because seeing you came so far was really inspiring. It didn’t turn out great but I’m sure with practice I’ll get better❤️❤️❤️
I use builder gel to do my nails by myself and I thinks it’s very nice for extensions if you don’t want acrylic. But I think that you have to use a little bit less gel in your nails and do it in layers so that there’s more uncured product 🤗
So you can overlay builder gel over nail extensions, similar to acrylic? I’ve been looking all over the internet for this answer because I’m thinking about trying it for my homemade press-on nails.
What works for me is building my nail structure at the very end right before the top coat. I tend to be easily annoyed with texture on my nails so what I do is do all the nail art (w/o 3D charms) then build structure using clear builder gel then top coat. The builder gel creates the structure and support for longer nails while also masking all the bumps and texture that nail art and stickers have.
Let thinner coats is better! I used to put one thick one and it got everywhere lol bc it does move a lot but thinner coats end up being a lot better! Your nails are gorgeous!!
For builder gel, you did a great job but if you’re having trouble with it moving around or leveling in the wrong areas, flip your nail upside down until you see the apex at a point you like then cure. (From experience)
As someone that used to wear extensions that currently does overlays over my natural length.....extensions actually saved me way more time surprisingly. My natural nails grow at different angles (?) Some are crooked.. some curve downward some are perfectly straight.... trying to get all of them symmetrical/even with one another took significantly longer than building from scratch or putting a tip on. Just my own personal experience😅
girl you are so talented, i swear everything you do is gorgeous! this is my long term plan now that i have gotten better at applying the gel x nails! i look forward to seeing how this works out for you!!
I’ve never done my nails using gel polish and builder gel before and I’ve been watching a lot of videos in preparation to for the first time, but this is the first time I’ve heard this! So glad I did before I tried it. Thanks for the tip! 💜
I have to trim my nails every time I do a new set… Kudos to the ladies that don’t have to worry about their jobs breaking their nails! You don’t have to use a base gel but the base is what helps the gel move on the nail easier. Also acts as a binding agent
Builder gel tips: you can add a slip layer by applying one thin coat of the builder gel and cure it for 30 seconds then use a bead of builder gel and light tap it where you want it to go (it will only go where the gel has already been) I suggest one nail at a time and also putting your nail upside down so the majority of the product will go to the middle of the nail creating an apex :) great job btw! Love the pink with the designs!
Use a fine sanding ban or a fine grit file to wrap up your nails really good, clean your cuticles really well with the diamond bits. I prefer to do a dry manicure but to each its own. Then I dehydrate with acetone and go in with Young Nails protein bond. If you want a thinner and more natural looking alternative you should try fiber glass Gel. Didier is good.
Can I just say that you are like an inspiration! You’re a literal queen and your good at everything! You can make dresses and you can do your own nails??? You lolm professional and have that cart thingy and a bunch… of professional looking things?
For builder I find to get the best shape and apex if I turn my hand over for 10 seconds before curing it really shapes them nicely and smoothly, congrats on your nail journey! X
Start with a slip layer and then a larger bead. But less then you were using. And use a detail brush to get it perfect around the sidewalls and cuticle area. I would recommend a finish file to perfect the shape too.
Builder gel is self leveling! Flip your hand upside down for a few seconds before curing to great a nice smooth apex that gives your natural nail strength
Tip: flip your hand over for a few seconds before curing the builder gel so the product can flow to the middle, where you need the strength, and to even it out
@@KianaBonollo ok, to make it easier put the drop few mm away from your cuticles, then get a really thin brush and with a really light hand move the brush towards the end starting from center, it will be way smother already, and with that, flip it for a 5-10 seconds it will end up like a perfectly smooth surface! Don’t forget to cover the very edge of your nails, it makes them last longer 😄 Another tip is to use LED lamp instead of UV, it cures faster so this way gel has no chance of moving while curing P.s. sorry if my English is not totally clear, I am Russian
When working with builder gel, you can hold the nail upside down for a few seconds before putting it in the lamp, it helps the gel pool on the middle of the nail instead of in the cuticle
That’s exactly what I do! Now I only put an extension on if one of my nails breaks lol builder gel has totally changed my nail game. No more acrylic for me and I’m able to grow my nails, finally!
Not sure what you found that said base gel isn’t necessary but for gels it is, things like builder gel or hard gel a base gel provides adhesion to the natural nail. Now some soft gels can hold on pretty well to the natural nail without base (like the Young Nails Fiber gel) but that’s a trial and error thing. It’s always safest to just use a base gel prior to a gel application. Oh yes and I’m a licensed nail tech promise I’m not just giving random info without being able to back it up 😂❤
I am late to the home nail salon game. However I already know I will need a trolley because all the things I have learned in the last two weeks has made me into a kid with a new toy.
Apply the base, cure than another thin coat. The builder gel sticks better as you apply. Oh and flip your hand before the cure. The builder gel will level nicely!
Put a swipe of gel like nail polish do not cure it then take brush with product go back and forth in the middle do not go from side wall to side wall it will naturally level use thin brush for side walls to help level
In my whole life My nails have never even approached this length. Now 2 of my nails have damage that doesn’t allow the nail to grow smoothly; you are so lucky 🍀

Where can I find that moving rack where you keep the products on?( looks very practical and qt)

I call this first thin coat the "slip layer", I use this technique with every gel no matter the viscosity 😊
yessss i use this as well it works so much better
I was about to comment this as well

@@ElectricAngel181 sticky as in its not cured or sticky as in sticky layer still?

BOOSTING THIS BECAUSE YES
Yeah I did my nails last night doing dip and the stuff burned so I had to grab a mask, I didn’t think to use glasses but now I’m going to 😂😂😂
Good points! When I have done my nails (gel base, with dip), and the chemicals would always cause my eyes to water, and my nostrils to burn! 😭😷
🤓😷
Hate to break it to you, but a disposable face mask isn't going to do much for you if you're avoiding dust particles. You'd need an actual mask.
the amount of respect i have for people who can fully do their nails is huge, i can’t even paint my right hand with plain nail polish😭
At the beginning of the year I couldn’t either but I kept reminding myself I don’t have $70 to spend getting them done.
The bottle is so cute and the nails look amazing! ❤
I think base gel for builder gel is KEY! I would have some lifting after 3 weeks (i kick butt on my nail prep 100%) and after I started adding base gel under the builder gel, builder will last me at least 1 month no lifting!!!
A tip to get it to be in a correct shape is to position your nails upside down so gravity can mold the builder gel to your nail's natural shape.
Yes, I even turn my smallest light upside down and set them one at a time. ☮️

I've been doing gel on my natural n😮ails for years. I got tired of doing acrylic and then doing the gel, so I decided to skip a step.
Ive always done gel on my natural nails, ive never been a fan of long nails and anything extra on my nails other than polish always bothered me
@vixenn6 that is the truth. I want my nails to look nice, without a lot of fuss. Doing my nails is self care time. 💜

Could u share how you organize your nail tools? I see you have the shelf with wheels.. that's such a good idea! Would like to see it in detail!!😍
Apres now has an extend gel that is all in one you don’t need the dehydrator or the primer and it works fabulously!!!
Let thinner coats is better! I used to put one thick one and it got everywhere lol bc it does move a lot but thinner coats end up being a lot better!
Your nails are gorgeous!!
i’m actually starting nail classes because of you! thank you!!🩷🩷✨

The key to builder gel is working in layers not all at once ❤ or you’ll flood the cuticle and ruin the shape and file a lot!

❤ this is what I’m working on doing
I’m impressed 🙌🏻🙌🏻🙌🏻
Builder gel is self leveling! Flip your hand upside down for a few seconds before curing to great a nice smooth apex that gives your natural nail strength
U should teach urself how do to acrylic nails... u would do so good
Try doing fills instead of doing a soak off each time, as prolonged use of acetone is prone to weaken the natural nails. I hope this helps ❤
Tip: flip your hand over for a few seconds before curing the builder gel so the product can flow to the middle, where you need the strength, and to even it out
BEAUTIFUL ❤❤
For such liquid gels just flip your hand upside down when u have a thicker coat and it will center itself, then quickly flip it back and put under UV
I did this! I just have to keep practicing I guess!

I just added all this to my Amazon cart 🛒 so I’ll be tuning into your channel because I want to grow out my nails but also wear long nail extensions

use rubber base if you don't want the gel to run best to use as its thicker and already coes with color
Ok your tattoo is so cute!!!
Right after aplaying the builder gel turn nail upside down for 30 sec and cure this makes the layer evenly
need base gel for natural nails. you don’t need it if you have something in between like gel x full cover tip
Those earrings are super cute
super cute
Beautiful
you can always flip your nail upside down before curing builder gel to make it build thick on the apex , minimizes cuticle flooding as well
Love them
She is good at everything looks,nails,designing,body and everything u can image Where I am good at nothing ;-;

They were cute
very cute❤
You did an awesome job , I'm learning still do you recommend tips or the full nail. Advice please
Unless your building gel is a “trinity” style product you definitely need base coat to help with adhesion & retention
I need that rolling cart for my nails supplies..
Ok, the purple nail covers to remove old gel. Where did you get those?
Very cute nails too!! 😀
Very nice
I am late to the home nail salon game. However I already know I will need a trolley because all the things I have learned in the last two weeks has made me into a kid with a new toy.
I love your natural nails! I love the almond shape. If I would ever stop biting mine😢....
Apply the base, cure than another thin coat. The builder gel sticks better as you apply. Oh and flip your hand before the cure. The builder gel will level nicely!
Yes, a base gel isn’t a necessity; however, it gives the nails a polished finish, and provides a longer lasting polish.
Put a swipe of gel like nail polish do not cure it then take brush with product go back and forth in the middle do not go from side wall to side wall it will naturally level use thin brush for side walls to help level
Builder messed my mum's nails up! Even at a salon, so do be safe out there with it folks
I’ve heard some people develop an allergy to it. That’s why she should have used a base coat.
Just flip your nail upside down babe! Let the builder gel make the apex on its own and quickly cure when it’s flowed to the shape you want!😊
Gorgeous..Just like you. ❤
You mean a wrap that’s what we use to get at the nail salon when we didn’t want to get a full set
Turn your hand upside down and let gravity build your Apex. Cure it upside down as well. I usually at an additional cure right side up.
They say hold ur nails upside down for a few seconds to get that apex and gel in place
Nice
Someone please show how doing both hands everyone can do one side…
In my whole life My nails have never even approached this length. Now 2 of my nails have damage that doesn’t allow the nail to grow smoothly; you are so lucky 🍀
I'm new to Gel. I'm just not sure how to control the builder gel. How do you stop it from flooding your cuticles?
I think my nails were so damaged when I put my gel nails on, they kept popping off
U don’t need base gel for builder gel?😭 it’s literally the base for any gel manicure.
..i'm trying to understand that one too lol.
Where did you get your pink cart from?
After the builder gel, do I put a base gel then gel polish and top coat? Any advice is appreciated 🙏🏼
The only time base coat makes a difference is if i put any colored polish directly on natural nails without a base coat first
Turn your hand upside down to help you with the builder gel application. You can use gravity to form a perfect apex and shape.
2 thin layers of base gel cure 1st layer then add 2nd layer and they will be unmovable
Takes me 5 hours to do my nails 😮💨😮💨
Don’t forget your slip layer when applying builder gel on natural nails!
The pink top is that an extra piece or that’s part of the lamp
I’m new to nails. Why use builder gel over your natural nail if it doesn’t affect length? Is it to protect your natural nail??
Is it okay to do your nails without a base? I can’t find one that works
Try do coffin shaped
Where do you get the the drills and files? I've gotten some like cheap ones at the stores but they don't work too well.
Online or a nail store
❤❤❤❤😊😊
Dehydrator goes on before the primer
Hold your hand upside down for a second then put in the lamp to cure upside down.
