- Hello friends!!! Today I am going to be trying gel x nails for the first time as a beginner who doesn't know how to do nails... and spoiler alert I am never going back to the salon. This was SO EASY and affordable!! Love you all!

If you put acetone in a sandwich bag bag, then put the bag in a bowl of warm water. Let you nails soak for maybe 10 mins. The nail just comes right off! Dont forget to put a towel over your hand.

Yeh if it isnt 100% acetone its not going to cut through the gel. Acetone wont take longer than 15 mins, doing your own nails is defo a learning curve but you do get used to it.

I have a tip for rhinestones. Don't actually saturate the entire gem, when a top coat goes on it removes some of the shine and makes it "cloudy". Just seal the edges with a small detail brush and then put the top coat on the surrounding nail. They will sparkle SO much more!
Yes! I said same thing I've been practicing for at least 3 years but still not enough, we can always learn. I'm telling you the solid glue gel is a game changer! You've gotta get it.

Yaassss! Girl that is all that I use and it’s the best! I like it better than the extension gel glue or some use base coat, because once you lay the nail down you can’t let go, the solid glue has a suction to it, so you can check your nail make sure it’s on straight, not like the base coat or other gel glues, the nail will come right off the minute you let go, or you have to be a pro and make sure you know how to put them on straight without looking, I can’t do that and I always had one or two nail’s crooked!
The other great thing about the solid glue, they come in different colors, I have a baby pink, nude and clear. I use clear the most, but with the pink you can do a easy french design , and Nude goes with everything lol just makes it so easy not having to use a gel polish for your base color, just the solid color gel glue and design your set it just saves time and is also the best thing invented! The brands that I use are, Born Pretty & Kodies off of AliExpress or you can get them on Amazon they have tons of brands
Girl, I did the same thing!!!! I do my now too!! I can't do the fancy stuff but they still look great and I get complements all the time! Go and experiment! Its so fun!!

When doing clean up of the gel polish before curing, you can just use isopropyl alcohol. This will prevent any previous gel from being removed.
You need to hold the drill while using your pinky as a fulcrum to stabalize the efile so you dont get issues in your wrists from the vibrations. A bit hard to explain but thinking there are videos from young nails or the nail hub about efiles and how to use/hold them. I learned this from nail school so i wanted to pass on the info to you and any other diyers who may read this

I just did my first gel nail my self . It’s soo satisfying when you are able to get it done your self
I know this is late to the video but you actually don’t need a gel base before polish. Since the fake nail can’t produce natural oils the base isn’t needed to provide extra help since it isn’t necessary.😊

Just found your channel, I am also a beginner and I've done the gel x one time but will continue to do it more. Your nails came out nice. And yes you should get 100% acetone it will soak the nails off faster. Also, try clipping the nails with a nail clipper or a nail cutter it will save time on soaking the nails off. Can't wait to see more videos.

Yes, it does! Except you were doing your own nails and still finding your way - whereas it's almost like she didn't do even a modicum of research or practice offline before creating what is effectively a how-to video - or will be viewed as such - for an audience of over half a million people... 😳

You don’t have to use anything on top of the gelx after you remove the shine from them. You can put the gel color strain on top. Just wanted to tell you so you save time and product because it is really is not necessary

Try dollar tree make up pads… they hold in the nail polish removal and removes all the gel..

you can put a little more pressure when filing with the e file. I would recommend starting slow and watch a few videos on e files. You also need 100% acetone when soaking off the polish otherwise it will take longer and be more difficult to remove the acrylic.

ummhh HELLO????? they are stunning and you did a perfect job especially for your first time!
If you get gel around you cuticle before you put it in the lamp have a nail brush with acetone ready on the side next to you on the table. Also to prevent the gel coming out the sides is before you put the nail on squeeze the sides together then when you put it on the gel shouldn’t go through.
Or if you cure the gel with a little on your cuticle use the nail drill to sand it off
I tried gel x last night….. I’ve been doing my own dip at home and sometimes do tips for added length so I thought oh this will be fine…. WRONG I was shaking and making a huge mess 😂 I will attempt again tonight or tomorrow

You will always need 100% acetone and doing nails at home. It’s the only product that will remove gel or acrylic.

Apparently they are *supposed* to protect you from the UV rays from the lamp HOWEVER mine is an LED UV lamp so I’m not sure it does anything haha
