I can’t believe I’ve been speaking English most of my life and got 19 I really thought I would be advanced but since English was not my first language I guess that can be explained
According to my understanding, there is a way to hint at the right answer through the question. When you write something and provide answers that are all applicable, how can I make a decision if the scenario of the question is not clear enough? Your Effort is greatly appreciated. you showed me I need to work a little bit more on myself. :) I got 19
I am 15, I live abroad and English is my third language. I learned it before moving to Iceland and learning Icelandic but got better at it over the years as many immigrants or half-Icelanders here prefere to speak English and I have a lot of friends who mainly speak English (that being their second language too)… I got a 23-25🤩 (depending on the situation as some questions clearly had multiple options of answers)
For some questions it really depended on one word or how the phrasing was, that’s why they gave multiple answers that could fit. But according to the official English grammer just one of the answers was 100%. Go look at it again and see if you can explain why some answers are correct and some incorrect, that’s the faster way to learn (:
I've got 23 out of 25 which is what I thought since I got an international c1 English certificate. I'm so proud of myself for this goal I've reached, which is speaking English fluently. if I could for course you can as well. Blessings from Colombia!❤️🙏
I got 17 correct answers, but I think it is ok because is a B1 level of English and I know that I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for this amazing test.
i answered "a lot of" and i got surprised that my answer was wrong yet "a lot of" is still correct and i guess people won't even notice it in real life
I knew something was off about that question, I even said to myself “I have never really heard anyone use ‘range’ especially where I am from” we’re more than likely to use ”a lot”
I am not a native speaker, and my spoken English is heavily polluted with a very harsh Dutch accent, and yet I have no memories other than those where I have always spoken my English entirely by ear. The only grammatical rule I know by heart is the gerund, and even that knowledge has begun to fade away I've noticed. For as long as I can remember I have always conjugated my grammar, and formulated my sentences solely based on what sounded good in my head and what looked good when written out on paper. That should be sufficient background information for you to understand my situation, so if you'll allow me to move on to my actual question: I got every question correct except for the 24th, and I think this question tripped me up precisely because of the fact that I formulate all my English by ear. I really think that my ears have failed me this time, because according to them the acceptable and seemingly correct answer to question 24 can honestly be any one of the options B, C or D, because they really all sound correct to my ears. It slightly worries me that I see people debating the answer to question 25 in the comments, and I did get that one correct thankfully, but disturbingly I don't see anyone debating the answer to question 24 in the comments? To me, that must mean that I'm wrong here, and the only valid choice should indeed be C, right? So, I was wondering if perhaps a more proficient native speaker could help me by explaining to me why it is the case that option C is the only acceptable correct answer for question 24? Even if you can't help me with this peculiar conundrum, I'd still like to thank you for reading my entire comment, kind stranger! I hope you have a wonderful day! 👍😊
Hello, I read your entire comment. ❤ Confident: You can achieve something without effort, or that you have no doubts about something. Determined: You work for something, no matter how much it takes. You put your mind on a goal and achieve it. According to the context, (winning an argument) requires effort, so determind is the correct answer. 😊
@@EnglishLearningHubOfficial Thank you for the reply! But I am not certain what 'context' you're referring to? Was there additional text or description given other than just the sentence and the 4 options? Because in my head, just speaking about what would be valid English, these are in my opinion all 100% valid syntax and grammar: B. He was yelling to win the argument. C. He was determined to win the argument. D. He was confident to win the argument. the only one that produces incorrect English is option A, namely "He was tried to win the argument." does not seem like valid English to me whereas all the others do.

As a teacher (20+ years' experience) I would say that such a test is not very indicative, first of all because it's just multiple choice. That means that any learner has a 1 in 4 chance of getting the correct answer each time. It tests vocabulary and grammar, but what about listening and reading comprehension?? (speaking and writing are obviously not possible in a youtube test). Much more evaluation is needed to give an accurate result.
@@gloomax5712 Exactly. Also, any multiple choice test is highly subjective because it tests the grammar/ vocab that the teacher expects you to know... but you may know dozens of other grammar / vocab structures which aren't on the test....
Thanks for your nice comment. We do agree with you. Going with the crowd, we prepare these kinds of tests to help English learners improve their vocabulary and grammar mostly and be motivated to improve their speaking and writing skills as well.
I am a 12 year old and I love to read and write! I always research on certain things and write about them. I love writing poems, books and songs. I want to be a writer when I grow up! I was hoping to get a good score in this test, which I did! Proud of myself. I got 23/25 correct and I am incredibly delighted! This was an amazing quiz! PS: Depending on the meaning intended, Question 25 may or may not be apparent. Does the first clause, "his breath was so awful that you could smell it when his mouth was closed," represent an independent clause? A semicolon should not be used to separate a dependent clause from an independent clause if the first scenario applies.
I got a B2 level, a year ago i didn't know how to say basic things in english, now i can say that i have a very good pronunciation nevertheless i have to improve my vocabulary.

May I ask if this is a "certified" kind of test? I know for sure that I'm not even close to C1 or C2, yet this test puts me right up there in the mastery range. So, I guess my question is: how scientific and verified is this test? Or did you just come up with it?
Hello, thanks for watching! 😍 Yes, this is a certified test, but it only assesses your reading, listening, and understanding of grammar and vocabulary.
@@EnglishLearningHubOfficial Well, there is not really much more to a language, in my humble opinion. That's what it comes down to, even in my native language :) Thanks for the clarification! It's much appreciated.
24/25, im 15years old and live in colombia, i learned only by watching and hearing english in my daily live... I only have a question, why in the question that was "His mouth's smell was ....bad that you could smell it even when it's closed" we had to choose so? I mean very would work and so would incredible :/
Hello, thanks for watching! Very and incredibly are also correct, but this question is a bit tricky! In here, we've asked for the "best" answer, and 'so' is mostly used by native speakers in such contexts. Thank you anyway! 😍
23 out of 25. But really some of the sentences didn’t provide a clear enough context. The breath can be so/very/incredibly bad. If it was “His breath was ...... bad, that you could...” it would be a very clear collocation for “so”. But the way it is - it’s very questionable.
@@ninjochoya6017 no, "So" is used so as to put emphasis on how bad it was If however "very or incredibly bad " was used it would still be grammatically, contextually and syntaxtually correct but the little subtle emphasis(on the badness) would be gone. Hope you have a nice day
I got 24, and i am sure that my lvl is C2, I’ve taken other exams just to make sure of it and I got the same exact level of English. I got 22 at 14 as a czech-born girl. I think I could have even more, because some of the questions have multiple answers but I finally know where am I at and so I know slightly how to improve at certain things. Thank you for posting this video!
You're most welcome! ❤
i got a total score of 21 points and throughout this test i noticed that i lacked in confidence i think that if i were to improve in anything in life i ought to put my fears aside and collect all of my confidence and hard work together because since i'm a perfectionist i stress when i can't find the right word to use in a daily conversation or when i'm writing ... i'm currently fifteen years old and i know i still have the time to improve but not too much so i really hope that one day i could bring all of my courage and speak fluently with nothing ever stopping me
I can’t believe I’ve been speaking English most of my life and got 19 I really thought I would be advanced but since English was not my first language I guess that can be explained
Congrats! ❤
Wish you all the best!
Thank you so much dear for this class and also please do it more and have a nice weekend...
Most welcome dear! 💙
I am very proud of my score tha was 22/25, as a Swede with English as my second language I feel like B2-C1 is a amazing score
Wow!
Wish you all the best!
According to my understanding, there is a way to hint at the right answer through the question. When you write something and provide answers that are all applicable, how can I make a decision if the scenario of the question is not clear enough?
Your Effort is greatly appreciated.
you showed me I need to work a little bit more on myself. :)
I got 19
I am 15, I live abroad and English is my third language. I learned it before moving to Iceland and learning Icelandic but got better at it over the years as many immigrants or half-Icelanders here prefere to speak English and I have a lot of friends who mainly speak English (that being their second language too)… I got a 23-25🤩 (depending on the situation as some questions clearly had multiple options of answers)
Congrats! ❤
Wish you all the best!
I also had the idea one or two questions had more options.
For some questions it really depended on one word or how the phrasing was, that’s why they gave multiple answers that could fit. But according to the official
English grammer just one of the answers was 100%. Go look at it again and see if you can explain why some answers are correct and some incorrect, that’s the faster way to learn (:
@@EnglishLearningHubOfficial I got 12 out of 25
I reached 17 in 25 - I am so thankful for that simple test, but so helpful. I really enjoyed it. Good job!
Thanks for watching!
I've got 23 out of 25 which is what I thought since I got an international c1 English certificate.
I'm so proud of myself for this goal I've reached, which is speaking English fluently. if I could for course you can as well.

I got 17 correct answers, but I think it is ok because is a B1 level of English and I know that I still have a lot to learn. Thanks for this amazing test.
That's great.
Thanks for watching!
I felt like #17 was a little unclear, it could either be “a range of options” or “a lot of options”
i answered "a lot of" and i got surprised that my answer was wrong yet "a lot of" is still correct and i guess people won't even notice it in real life
Then it should sound like: There 'are' a lot of options
But, I also was a little bit confused in this question
I knew something was off about that question, I even said to myself “I have never really heard anyone use ‘range’ especially where I am from” we’re more than likely to use ”a lot”
@@kiyaaxo4 but you would say "there _are_ a lot of options" then
23 out of 25!! Most of them were so simple!! I just mixed up some phrasal verbs, that is all..
That should be sufficient background information for you to understand my situation, so if you'll allow me to move on to my actual question:
I got every question correct except for the 24th, and I think this question tripped me up precisely because of the fact that I formulate all my English by ear.
Confident: You can achieve something without effort, or that you have no doubts about something.
Because in my head, just speaking about what would be valid English, these are in my opinion all 100% valid syntax and grammar:
B. He was yelling to win the argument.
C. He was determined to win the argument.
D. He was confident to win the argument.
the only one that produces incorrect English is option A, namely "He was tried to win the argument." does not seem like valid English to me whereas all the others do.
13 answers, get out, there was at least 4-5 questions where you could answer anything and all of that was correct
I've been super rusty with English lately and I thought I was starting to forget about it but then I took this test and I was kinda relieved when I scored 23 out of 25. I guess I'm not as rusty as I thought I was😅

So true, I have b1-b2, but in this test my result is a2 💀
@@gloomax5712 Exactly.
I got 21 right and considering that i am 15 years old i think im where i should be . Keeping in mind that i still have to focus on more staff

You rock! 😍
Question 25: two independent clauses separated by a semicolon.
The other 2 options are also correct, but we asked for the best option.

May I ask if this is a "certified" kind of test? I know for sure that I'm not even close to C1 or C2, yet this test puts me right up there in the mastery range. So, I guess my question is: how scientific and verified is this test? Or did you just come up with it?
Hello, thanks for watching! 😍
Yes, this is a certified test, but it only assesses your reading, listening, and understanding of grammar and vocabulary.
@@EnglishLearningHubOfficial
Well, there is not really much more to a language, in my humble opinion. That's what it comes down to, even in my native language :)
Thanks for the clarification! It's much appreciated.
24/25, im 15years old and live in colombia, i learned only by watching and hearing english in my daily live... Never really had a professor or anyone to teach me on how to speak fluently, although i can understand it the hardest part for me is speaking, since i have developed a spanish accent im still lacking on the speaking part.
Im a 13 year old from Egypt, my second language is English and even tho they don't teach us that much at school so we can speak fluently I've made progress on my own, I got 20 answers correctly so I'm in level B2 :) I'm honestly really happy that I can speak in English or just live in a foreign country!
I only have a question, why in the question that was
"His mouth's smell was ....bad that you could smell it even when it's closed" we had to choose so? I mean very would work and so would incredible :/
Hello, thanks for watching!
Very and incredibly are also correct, but this question is a bit tricky!
In here, we've asked for the "best" answer, and 'so' is mostly used by native speakers in such contexts.
Thank you anyway! 😍

23 out of 25. But really some of the sentences didn’t provide a clear enough context. The breath can be so/very/incredibly bad. If it was “His breath was ...... bad, that you could...” it would be a very clear collocation for “so”. But the way it is - it’s very questionable.
The context was in the second part of the sentence
@@charataru1805 Even with context they’re still correct
@@ninjochoya6017 no,
"So" is used so as to put emphasis on how bad it was
If however "very or incredibly bad " was used it would still be grammatically, contextually and syntaxtually correct but the little subtle emphasis(on the badness) would be gone.
Hope you have a nice day
I got 24, and i am sure that my lvl is C2, I’ve taken other exams just to make sure of it and I got the same exact level of English. I can watch things and speak thoroughly fine, I had a blast while answering these questions, and imma keep studying until I get to move outta my country and start my new life in a English-speaking country

No worries!
This test assesses your reading, listening, and grammar skills. If you can speak English fluently, that is great!
If you only need English to communicate with people day to day, you'll be fine. Don't sweat it. Even if you make many mistakes, you'll be understood.
