- I give my honest review after installing the Everlast 82i cutter on our 5x10 table and doing a few test cuts on 16ga and .375 material.
For best cut performance, always be sure to match the consumable size with the amperage being used. 40 Amps would require about a .9mm cutting tip. Also, the torch now has CNC specific consumables that are shielded available for this torch and are available from several US suppliers of the PT/iPT 80 torches, FWIW.
Thank you for the info Mark! Getting used to the different tips will take some time it would be nice to have a drag tip
Could you do a video on how you connected/wired you 82i to your CNC machine?
I would love to see that as well
Keep the reviews coming please. I have been trying to find detailed reviews on this unit used for cnc cutting. Thanks!
Wow! Thanks for the review guys. Look forward to see what you guys build with the 82i. #cutmeancutgreen
Good looking machine. I'd really like to try this 82i on my table. I use the 45xp now. And needing to cut thicker metals.
I would love to put this on my Langmuir Systems Crossfire Pro. From what I saw in this video it looks like a great option!
Really dissapoint of you Everlast welders ! I PAY 1200 dollars for the power mts 211si , and use it about 4 times and it's messed up by itself, now I send to repair , and i jave to pay the shipping to get it repair and to bring it back home ! Cheap warranty service and customer service if i just could get my money i would !!! But its been a year since my purchase , why after a year ? Because i have another welder that I was using
Thanks for making this video! I've been considering upgrading my CNC plasma table to the 80i for a while now. This was very helpful. Keep it up! I checked out your channel. I want to encourage you by saying 3000+ views on your very first video is better than 99% of new channels. You've got a good format. Make more videos! :)
Great Review. Nothing like REAL world experience from real fab shops. Thanks for taking the time and keep up the good work. Love to see some suspension stuff too!
Thanks for your review. I'm particularly glad to see you compare it to the 45xp which is one of the most popular cutters for the smaller setups like I have
What about the lifetime and cost of the consumables ? The only things I have in mind might be: not made in USA, reliability and maybe bad technical support ? I greatly like and recommend Hypertherm (but yes they are expensive but you do pay for Quality), I've been to their manufacturer location done training and worked with multiples HPR unit (260XD, 400XD) and some smaller powermax. They are built tough and last decades. However can't tell alot about Everlast, they are still very early for now, only time will tell.
Do you have a video of how you connected the port wires to the CNC?
I could make that video but it wouldn't be very helpful unless your table uses the same drive box mine does which I highly doubt unfortunately
Hypertherm is the worlds best plasma because they've spent a LOT of money and effort telling the world that. Just like Kaeser compressors has done. Does not mean they are. But it does let them charge the highest prices.
Everlast seems to be a mixed bag.
My Supercut 51p died. Sent it back for repair, they lost it, then sent a new 25 something (Half as capable). I went ahead and paid to go to the 52 (supports CNC and is inverter based). We'll see how it goes.
That said, I am happy with my Power I-MIG 200E.
Like I said, mixed bag.
Any update? Have you ran the 52?

I have run it. It did a decent job on 1/2" considering my lack of skill. Of course it devastated thinner material.
I have an 82i on the way; non-CNC. I have to ask though if Hypertherm does or does not offer a pencil torch for your HyperTherm machine. There was no option to move away from handheld on the Hypertherm?
Great video! I'm looking at Everlast machines more and more. Was also using Hypertherm..but they have gotten extremely expensive. Not sure if they are worth the investment
You have had this roughly a year. Are you still happy with this plasma cuttet?
Still cuts like the day I got it
The question has already been asked but there has not been a reply. How did you figure out the pin out to the CNC. the Hypertherm is a 7 pin versus the 9 pin on the Everlast. I just got the Everlast to replace my Hypertherm 85 and having trouble figuring that out.
What cut and pierce height are you using?
Are you using plasma quench or engine coolant in your table
Home made plasma quench
I use ldscnc's steel guard additive in my table it works really good
What type of compressor are you running
7.5 hp ingersoll 2 stage
I have a 82i brand new with the ptm 60 machine torch. I can't figure out why I get error e04. Hand torch no error
Ours has the ptm 80 machine torch
@@labbuiltfab where did you buy the ptm80 from? our 60 only has 2 pins vs from what i can tell on the 80 it has 4
@@Muzickification it came from everlast with it
@@Muzickification There was an extra circuit added for the new "2i" series for cap/parts in place detection for an extra layer of safety.
@Paul Winberg Air pressure i think..
