- With the return of Harry Osborn in Spider-Man 2, Paesano composed a new theme for him that's cemented itself as the standout musical motif from the game. His theme starts off with a gentle three note motif, building off of it into a more complete melody carried by woodwinds and soft strings. It portrays Harry as a gentle, kind soul, yet one with a lot of trauma and burdens laid upon his shoulders. As he works to heal the world, his theme evokes his heroics through thunderous brass and choir played over Peter's ostinato, but his theme becomes twisted as Venom takes his toll on the poor, fragile kid. Distorted electronics carry his theme as the musical language of the Symbiote infects Harry's theme, the two battling back and forth for control throughout the game as Harry's theme becomes a signifier of what the true conflict at hand is; a battle for Harry's soul. As such it becomes a musical identity more impactful because of the emotional weight it has throughout the story.

I think this is best representation of Harry Osbourn I've seen in Spider-man media. They didn't make him an absolute piece of garbage, he was actually likeable and you could see why Peter became friends with him.
He had no personality lol he didn’t feel like a real person. The Raimi Harry was so much better

“Representation” uh huh sure. Insomniac’s Harry is nothing like his comic counter part.
One of my best friends passed away last year.
He was a huge Spider-Man and Dragon Ball fan, and we watched the last two Spider-Man films in the cinema and talked about Dragon Ball every time.
He was very enthusiastic when Playstation showed us the gameplay of Spider-Man 2 during the Playstation Showcase, but he died before the game was released.
I think of you every day when I play Spider-Man 2 and hear that soundtrack.

This game did a better ill Harry storyline than the Amazing Spider-Man 2 film. And at least Peter and Harry's friendship is established across the games. In ASM 2 they were like 2 strangers who the film portrayed as great friends.
Not to mention, did a better job of Harry being Venom than Ultimate Spider-Man.
Also better than Raimi one

6:10 For some reason sticks in my head, it’s heroic and tragic at the same time. You can hear Harry trying to be good but the overwhelming feeling of his downfall because of him being venom. It reminds me of the Toby Spider-Man films soundtrack

I think the best thing about the game in the story is the relationship between Peter and Harry, from minute 1 you empathize with both, they have charisma and chemistry, you are happy for their achievements and sad when they fail, I thought that Harry would die in the end, but it will be interesting what they save for him in part 3

Love Harry’s leitmotif
8:50, This part of Harry’s inverted theme due to his illness and Venom’s influence is reminiscent of Venom’s theme in Spiderman 3, specifically when it was attached to Eddie Brock.
Aside from Kraven’s theme, Harry’s is the other most prominent one in this game and it fits very well for the journey this character goes on. At first, it evokes nostalgia and peace, as Harry’s presence after years of absence brings Peter comfort, while also gradually evolved to fit each stage of Harry’s journey, 6:11 from his superhero adventures, 3:46 to his declining health, 8:23 to when he is fully under Venom’s control over him in order to facilitate its invasion plans, exploiting his desire to leave a lasting positive influence on the world and 11:25 and finally at his most heroic when he elects to allow himself to be deprived of his only source of life support in Venom for the safety of his friends and the rest of the planet.
I really do hope Harry does somehow come back in Spider-Man 3. Insomniac made him a fun, compassionate, and likable dork, and he really deserves a happy ending after all he and Pete have gone through together.

Definitive relationship between Harry and Peter and the venom ark that unfolds this story has a ton of heart and the soundtrack is amazing
The entire game, I really wanted to do everything. Everything that could prevent Harry from dying, but eventually we all know how that turned out. Though he's alive, it's very hard or even knowing whether he would wake up again.
Harry Osborn. A boy who only wants to heal the world. This portrayal has become one of my favorite iterations.

@@bogymanthedarkmaybe he'll learn from his mistakes and actually try it in himself first, then sadly turning himself into the Goblin but they later use a more secure goblin serum on Harry so he's fine
@@ryderls2729 other theorize peter giving up his anti-venom suit for Harry, but the symbiote didn't really cure his sickness so it's most likely some version of goblin serum. maybe he'll become the hobgoblin.

He does. It plays the moment Lizard jumps out to attack Peter and Miles before running out the port house (its hard to hear though). And it also plays during the fight against the Lizard.
