That was the best 23 minutes of my night! The rock has the right density, and you got wore out with the tennis ball. I would reference Willey Coyote footage for ideas. Im now waiting for the 6 part series on you training a Koala to retrieve the drone. Excellent work as always!

What you need is another drone to drag the line with 😆
The way we do this in some parts of the States is with a homemade bolo (marble-sized weights will do for this quarry), an open-face spin reel from fishing, and a wrist rocket slingshot. Very repeatable aim. Or of the goal is just to knock it, a single hard rubber ball on the end of the line. On second thought - just build a pneumatic tube launcher for the tennis ball (something that uses a repeatable charge of compressed air to fire it) so you can get the aim right. The tennis ball should lose enough velocity (by the time it reaches the drone) that it can't knock it too hard.

Been in the same predicament (drone stuck in a tree). Thin rope works better than string. duct tape the rope to a cricket ball .

Tree work people use these little bags filled with sand that have a ring sewn to it. And the string is a bit thicker. When pulling the string back in, let it fall losely into an open bag.
Well and they also have large slingshots on a pole for accurate placement. Maybe have a look into that technique.

I don't think they're like super poisonous (unless you're allergic or something) and I've heard they will bite, but I've never been bitten they mostly just want to get away. It's mostly the super sticky webs all over my helmet and visor and camera that I don't really enjoy 😬

Just switched this on, I’m looking my forward to this. Also I’d like to see a stick taped to the screen to take out the spider webs, I’m sure you’d be the first person to ever pioneer that technology against the golden orb issue
Mate I did have a prototype of that idea a couple years ago. Big stick jammed in the T7 crash bars. Limited success at low speeds, go too quick and it tends to whip the spiders at ya face as ya go thru 😅
May I suggest two sticks in a large V. Otherwise invite Jesse and trick him into going first
