    This video shows the various parts and features and also a demo of longer program (70 deg C) of washing Indian utensils (mostly oil , milk and tea stained stainless steel) in my Bosch dishwasher SMS40M52EU. This video was made for all my friends and relatives who had queries about the capability of dishwasher for Indian utensils. I hope it would be useful for anyone who wants to buy a dishwasher but has lots of doubts.
    This is the first in series of videos. I plan to release more videos showing dishwasher use for different utensils like aluminium, glass, plastics, ceramics, etc.

      May I ask what would you do when you had only a simple meal with few pieces of utensils to clean? Can you keep them in the washer and wait for more? How long would you keep them? Can it be overnight? Thanks again.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  7 лет назад +2

      That's a good question Alice. Many a times i too come across such a situation, and I generally leave them soaked until some more dishes are ready for wash. I do this so that the dishes don't dry up, because i do not have the pre rinse option. The newer models have the pre rinse option, which helps rinse those dishes that are loaded earlier and left in the dishwasher for a while. So it is okay if you leave few dishes and wait for more.Yeah overnight would be okay, provided you run the pre rinse before the actual program as the dried dishes won't be cleaned properly without a rinse; especially milk, curd, rice utensils, kadais and such other dishes with stubborn particles sticking to them. I still prefer the conservative method of soaking utensils, as I would do if I were to wash manually.
      Thankyou once again and trust I have answered you satisfactorily! Happy dish washing!! Please feel to write to me if yiou have any more queries. I would be glad to help you. I am sure you will perfect the art very soon.

    Thank u so much .. really impressed.. i was actually about to buy a dishwasher in August but again had my apprehensions.. in these days of lock down i hv repented my decision of not taking a dishwasher would have made my life soooo easy now ... We don't know the future of letting our maids home sply when fear of infection is always there .. but getting a washer as soon as the lock dwn is through !

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад

      Thank you Aparna. You're very right. Dishwasher is really a boon and definitely makes life lot more simpler and stress free, as I've mentioned in the video. Especially at such times like now ; during lockdown period I'm sure most households not having a dishwasher and who do their work themselves or get it done by domestic help, the work load will be felt. Owning a dishwasher would have been God sent at such times. A family which can afford and have a washing machine can easily have a dishwasher. The water consumption by a dishwasher is much much less than a washing machine (hardly a bucket needed for a load). The total operating cost per month is roughly one-third the cost of a maid.
      All in all a must investment. Day is not far when every household will have a dishwasher, just like washing machine.
      Hope you buy yourself one after the lockdown period.
      Thank you.

    After watching all your videos on Bosch Dishwasher, I ordered the same model from Flipkart. It cost me Rs32999. It arrived in only 4days but the installation part was very tedious thing as literally I was after them for more than 6days with constant calling and emails. But as far as this machine is concerned, I find it quite simple, elegant and cost effective. I also had problem understanding water hardness n TDS concept as in my area TDS us 350. But for that part too mechanic advised to use salt+rinse aid along with Fortune 5-in-1 tablet. First I used Quick wash, but utensils were dirty. Then I used Quick +excess dry program n yes, that worked for me. My utensils had no residue, were shiny n very clean. Even my father who was scolding me of wasting my hard earned money on machine was very surprised. I am still learning to use this machine n struggling with use of detergent or tablet option. Also, I dont know about descaling process properly.But yep, I am happy for my dear mom. She always used to wash by hand as maids ke nakhre hi kam nahi hote the. I also taught my mom everything I know n now she is super happy. Well, thanks a lot for your video series.

Thanks for sharing your experience with me. I know Maine kud bhi maids ke problems see pareshan hokar hi dishwasher li this, 7 saal pehle and I don't regret my decision. I couldn't see my mom struggling with these dish washing when she is sick or the maids stop coming all of suddenly, I simply opted to this.
    Tension free and was good to go with our daily works.
    Compared IFB and Bosch. Bosch stood best against IFB.
    Bosch is good for our Indian Kitchen stains and to remove kind of Oil.
    Best value for Money.
    eg: 4000/5000 for Maids Per Month x 12 Months = 60000 Thousand + Headaches and Complaints
    i spend 36000 on this Bosch and 49000 for iRobot 900 Series Roomba 960 Vacuum Cleaning Robot .
    Cleans the house best and on Scheduled timing.
    Saves Money in longterm. Hassle free.

    Hi Bhuvana,
    Thank you for sharing your experience with Dishawasher. I have been watching this item for last couple of years with out much satisfaction of functioning.
    I have couple of queries regarding this, hope you would calrify it.
    1) How much effort is needed to pre-process the vessels? Like, cleaning up rice chunks from vessel before placing them in dishwasher
    2) What happens if vessels with leftovers items are directly placed in it?
    3) How did you finalise Bosch machine, considering alternatives like Siemens, LG and IFB machines available in market?
    Thanks again for showing interest and helping the community.
    -Rajesh

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  7 лет назад +2

      Hi Rajesh....thanks for your appreciation after watching my demo video! Sorry for the delayed reply. Coming to answering your queries :
      1. Utensils in which you cook rice are better soaked for a considerable duration before loading in the dishwasher for optimum results. What I mean here is your rice container will not come out clean (there will be starch, rice particles stuck) even if washed in a longer cycle if you load it as it is without a bit of rinsing and soaking at least. On the contrary milk, curd, oil containers, etc., can be loaded as they are, provided they are not dry. If they are dry, pre rinse is essential and recommended.
      2. As mentioned in the above, cleaning will not be effective especially if leftovers are dried up. So you should load into the dishwasher before the leftovers dry up and then run the machine with or without pre rinse. Alternatively, if you are not loading immediately, please keep vessels soaked/filled with water till the time of loading.
      3. When I purchased almost 5 years back, Bosch had just entered the market, only other choice being IFB that time. Knowing that Bosch is a trusted German brand, I went for it and have not regretted it till date.
      Today besides IFB and Bosch you have lots of reputed brands like LG, Samsung, Siemens, KAFF, etc from which to choose. You could go for a brand of your preference based on factors like price, features, support at your place, etc.
      Thanks once again for watching and commenting. I hope I have been able to give satisfactory answers to your queries.

    Thanks for the video Bhuvana. I also purchased a dishwasher and using Finish salt, detergent and dishwasher but dishes are not coming out clean. Even the hardness setting was set by the technician but I am not getting good results. Every time i am washing with it, a hard white film is covering almost all my dishes. I tried reducing detergent, increasing rinse aid, various temp. settings & even vinegar rinse but no use. Do you have any idea where I am doing wrong?
    Any help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance!

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  7 лет назад +2

      Thanks Shivi for your appreciative comments. From what you have written, I feel that the problem being faced by you is due to the hardness of water. Since hard water has dissolved salts, these get precipitated on heating and coming in contact with a metal surface. The hard white film you get on dishes is the scale deposit of this precipitation. Please try increasing the salt setting so that more salt gets used and the water becomes somewhat soft. This could definitely give you better results.
      If this does not give satisfactory relief then try using low temperature cycle as much as possible and use high temperature cycle only when absolutely necessary. The amount of scaling (white film) increases with higher temperature. Of course, this is not a correct advice as you should be able to use any program cycle without any restrictions.
      This problem can only be solved if you are able to get soft water supply for connecting to the dishwasher. The machine can then be expected to work trouble free with best cleaning results.
      Hope this answers your query.
      Thanks once again and hope that your problem gets solved.

      Thank you Usha Rani for watching. The dishwasher uses hot water for cleaning (temperature from 40 deg to 70 deg). Aluminium tends to lose colour/becomes black in high temperature. It can be washed only in low temperature (40 deg program of 30 minutes) in which aluminium does not become black/discoloured.
      If you use stainless steel vessels they can be washed in any long (high temperature) program and it will give good wash results. Wherever possible shift from aluminium to steel vessels.
      Bigger vessels, cookers can also be washed in the dishwasher, you should take care that the vessels, cookers do not touch the upper rack.
      Hope you are satisfied with my answer.
      Thank you.

      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Nithya, sorry to know about your problem. You haven't mentioned which detergent you've used. Also have you tried other cycles as well and have you faced the same problem?
      Water drops are found on utensils only if the rinse aid is not enough or there is some drying problem in the machine. Please check the rinse aid setting, proper setting ensures correct drying of the utensils. Adjust the rinse aid setting and if your problem still persists, contact your service centre. I hope this answers your query and your problem gets solved. Feel free to write in case of any other problem and let me know when your problem is solved, thank you.

    Hello Madam, just now I visited your channel. It is a very useful video. I have the same model dishwasher. Is it not necessary to fill rinse aid for every wash. The vessel in which I boiled milk, the stains will not go. What is the reason. Pl reply.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Shanti, thank you for finding my video useful.
      1. No, it is not necessary to fill rnse aid for every wash. You fill it once to the brim of the rinse aid compartment and again refill it only when the rinse aid indicator light shows red. I have shown this in another video - how to fill rinse aid and salt in another video which you can watch by clicking this link : ruclips.net/video/H0Ro1rP59EQ/видео.html
      2. Cleaning of highly soiled utensils like milk pans, oil containers, stubborn stained kadais etc. is always a challenge. It depends on several factors like - degree of stains, whether the utensils were soaked, were they placed in the right location in the dishwasher (more stained to be kept at places where maximum water is sprayed by the spary arm, mostly periphery), quality of water, program cycle selected and last but not least the type of detergent.
      I am sure you must be taking care of these factors. If not try to address the above suitably and you should get correct results. You can see my other dishwasher videos as well in which I have addressed numerous issues and common doubts. Please watch the videos in the playlist - ruclips.net/p/PLvZ681nV6tYrXkjwrFQC7-MSnWRNpfsq2

      Hi Murtaza Tarwadi. Thanks for your query.
      1) I am in the process of researching the various dishwasher detergents and tablets, rinse aid, etc., and shall be posting a comparison video very shortly.
      2) Because of the cost factor, it is advisable to use tablet only for heavily soiled vessels of steel, glass, etc and long cycle. For lightly soiled vessels and also mixed load of plastic, aluminium, etc. it is better to use shorter cycle with detergent. As regards rinse aid and salt, maintain their setting based on water quality at all times. And refill these only when the low level indicator lamp lights. You could watch my video on this - ruclips.net/video/H0Ro1rP59EQ/видео.html
      If you are planning to use tablet permanently, then you could keep the rinse aid and salt setting to minimum level.
      3) You may not be doing anything wrong, but please check the location of placing the heavily soiled vessels exactly above nozzles of the spray arm which has more holes. Because in the case of heavily soiled vessels, even in a long cycle and with tablet, one may not get good cleaning if the location or placement of utensils is not correct.
      Hope this solves your problem. Thanks once again.

    Hello Mam,
    I am using IFB neptune VX Dishwasher from last 4 months, but after the wash the utensils having white rough patches and the milk, tea container are not cleaning properly having the residue. Hi, you've not mentioned which program cycle you have used for these dishes which had white patches and also the milk and tea utensils.
      If milk and tea dishes have stubborn stains, cleaning will be a challenge. They have to be washed in intensive or auto program only. It would be better if they are soaked before being loaded in the machine. Because there is no scrubbing involved and cleaning is by spray of hot water, you have to take care of the following:
      1. Place heavily soiled dishes in the bottom rack around the periphery, as spray arms spray more water around the edges
      2. Select correct program cycle based on degree of soilng.
      3. Use good quality of detergent or tablet and the correct quantity as per soiling.
      4. If you're not going to wash dishes immediately after use, keep them soaked in water.
      5. Adjust your salt level setting based on your water hardness. If you have soft water, level can be lower and higher if you've hard water.
      White patches generally appear if your water is in the harder side. Try washing in a low temperature cycle. If IFB tablet isn't good, try washing with Finish detergent or tablet. I find that Finish gives good cleaning results. I've explained about this in my Detergent comparison video.
      I've answered various queries in my various other dishwasher videos in the dishwasher playlist in my channel. I'm sharing the link below, please watch the other videos, wherein you'll get answers to many of your doubts.

    Thank you for the review. Today I went and saw Bosch SMS60L18IN model which is the latest available. I had some reservations but your video has cleared them all. I only have one doubt which the shopkeeper told me but I was not convinced... We need to add 3 things to the machine - salt, detergent and rinse aid. While I understand that salt and rinse aid need to added only when the indicators come but detergent needs to be added every time. He also said that there are tablets available and if I put this then I dont need salt or detergent or rinse aid. Each cycle needs one tablet only. Is this true?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад +7

      Thank you Parambir Singh for liking my video and finding it useful in clearing your doubts.
      Yes the shopkeeper is right. All the three things are essential for the dish washer :
      - the salt is used for water softening (quantity and frequency of adding depends on hardness of water)
      - the rinse aid is for giving sparkling cleaning and drying of the dishes (you can skip using this, but absence of rinse aid is likely to leave water spots on the dishes which would be markedly visible and leave a stain over a period of time, more so if the water is very hard)
      - the powder is the soap which cleans the dishes (you cannot do without this).
      The tablet is all these three things rolled into one, so obviously it does the job of all the three. When you use a tablet you can set salt and rinse aid to Zero in the dish washer, so that indicator does not show. This is, provided you plan to use only the tablets always. You can do this, but the only disadvantge is the tablets are very expensive. About using tablet, yes one cycle requires one full tablet.
      I alternate between tablets and finish powder with a lower setting of rinse aid and salt (our water is fairly soft), because lightly soiled dishes do not require a tablet according to me. I use tablets for heavily soiled load of utensils in a longer program cycle. This gives excellent results. This way I stay well within my budget without compromising on quality of cleaning.
      I hope I have answered you query satisfactorily.
      You may want to watch my two other dishwasher videos in my channel.

      Hi Bhargavi, sorry for the delay in replying.
      Thanks for finding the video useful.
      Mixie jars can be washed in short low temperature cycle, because the paint/coating on the bottom of the jar will wear off in the long run if washed in high temperature. It is also said the blades tend to become blunt. So you can wash in dishwasher on and off which is what I do.
      Yes it can clean any good quality heat resistant plastic. Also any microwavable plastic is safe to be washed in the dishwasher. Pet bottles get deformed in higher temperatures so wash them in low temperature only.
      I have not had the opportunity to call for service as my machine is working fine since the last 7&1/2 years. But I am sure their service is good.
      I am sure I have cleared your doubts satisfactorily.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Suresh, sorry about your problem.. I think your problem of white patches on your dishes could be due to water quality. If your water is hard, there are chances of limescale formation, for which you may have to increase the salt setting. Before that it would be better to get to know the water hardness (calcium & magnesium salts in water) in your locality, from a reputed lab. Based on the hardness you can adjust the salt and rinse aid setting..
      One more thing you could try is using other brand of detergents.
      Also please let me know whether this happens in high temperature long duration cycle or the short low temperature cycle. Hard water mixed with detergent precipitates on the utensils, which increases with temperature. So try washing in low temperature program and find out if there is a difference.
      Hope this helps. Please write to me if you need more help... Thanks.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 года назад

      Hi Ujwala, the user manual mentions the minimum water pressure needed for operation, which is at least 0.5 bar ie. about 15 feet. This means that if you are closer to the terrace and the difference in height between water tank and your machine is less than 15 feet, the water pressure could be less and the dishwasher may not work. Thanks.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад

      Hi Felicia, To the best of my knowledge, the detergent remains in the compartment -
      1) if the dispenser compartment is not dry ( if the dispenser compartment is wet, the detergent in contact with the wet portion will stick to it and not get dissolved)
      2) if one is using more detergent than required for the degree of soiling
      If you take care of these, then the detergent should dissolve completely.
      Hope I have made myself clear. Thank you.

    It is so useful. I have a doubt about aluminum vessel's. Can we use aluminum in it??
    Because most of our Indian vessel's like pressure cooker and milk cooker are made by aluminum.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 года назад +1

      Hi Surya, it's generally not advisable to wash aluminium in a dishwasher as it turns black over long usage. None of the manufacturers recommended this. But I've been washing aluminium utensils, idli plates and cookers for many years without any damage to the cookware as I wash them in low temperature short cycles. Also aluminium cookware does not blacken in my dishwasher as my water is fairly soft. So it depends on water quality also. In case your water is hard, you have to try washing aluminium a few times to know whether they get black, if not you can continue to wash in the dishwasher.
      Even then, I've reduced my aluminium usage by disposing few utensils and switching over to steel cookers and kadais since I wash almost all dishes in the dishwasher.
      I've very few aluminium which I use occasionally.

      Thank you very much Rama Ananth for watching, liking and commenting on my video. Although vacuum cleaner is quite good as you have rightly said, it is a bit cumbersome. For the job of dry and wet mopping, I have a servant at present. But servants are quite unreliable. I have changed many servants and there have been lots of times when I have been without one. At such times I use Leifheit Power Delta battery operated sweeper for dry sweeping. For wet mopping, I have a Leifheit classic mop set which involves manual twist squeezing and mopping. In Leifheit there are other advanced models available but they are quite expensive. They are available online through Perumana in their website. I am sharing the link below - www.perumana.com/index.php?route=product/category&path=37_154_155
      I have also shown a demo of the Power Delta battery operated sweeper in my channel in which I have shared my experience and comments. You could watch it here - ruclips.net/video/FZETlw6tEXs/видео.html.
      I have not checked out Scotch Brite dry cum wet mop hence I cannot comment on how it is. JUst saw them online. A similar one is made by Leifheit also. You can check out other Leifheit preoducts in the above link.
      I have also seen robot cleaners (capable of both dry and wet) a brand called MILAGROW. They claim to be very advanced with lots of features, but I found them very expensive. You can check these out on their website.
      But by far, for dry mopping, I found Leifheit Power Delta to be most efficient. Not that it is perfect. It has its own drawbacks, but it is better than the other options. This is my opinion. You may check out the above which I feel would help you to decide based on your assessment and convenience.
      Thank you once again. Hope I have answered your queries satisfactorily. Would be happy to help in case you have any more queries. Sorry for the delay in replying.

      Hi Arup, glad to learn that my video helped you in deciding to buy a Bosch dishwasher for yourself. I am also happy that you are finding it fine for your dishes.
      As I have explained in my other dishwasher videos, even aluminium kadhais get cleaned well but in a low temperature cycle. Higher temperature tends to discolour aluminium.
      I have already shifted to steel kadhais and use aluminium only sparingly. You can check out in my Dishwasher demo - Full steel utensils long cycle (ruclips.net/video/KLO6XJ0f12Q/видео.html) where I have shown cleaning of VINOD make steel kadhais, milk pan etc. I find VINOD make SS utensils, milk pans and kadhais to be of good quality and finish. I use induction compatible ones which are sandwich bottomed that does not allow food/masala/oil residue to get stuck in the bottom after cooking/frying etc. Whatever little residue also gets cleaned well in the dishwasher. Even PRESTIGE make kadhais are available.
      I hope you find my answer helpful. Thank you for watching!

    Hello Bhuvana A,
    First of all, let me thank you for taking your time out to answer all the queries raised through comments. You've done a wonderful job clarifying all the doubts clearly. Yup! I've gone through all the comments.
    Thanks again for posting the review of the dishwasher and about it s features and demo.
    By the way, I've seen in another video of yours washing tea pans and milk pots. Usually, these are two most difficult vessels for the servants to wash properly. While washing these in the dishwasher, do you pre-soak them? (On the other video, you had mentioned about 1hr20 min 70deg cycle).
    By the way, how is the BOSCH service? Do they attend to faults at the earliest? How are the spares availability? Do they find it difficult to source spares? (Our Whirlpool washing machine's gasket was not available in Chennai for about 20-25 days. So had to switch over to IFB). If you could explain about service concerns too, much appreciated. Thanks!
    By the way, I'm sharing this video on my fb wall, especially for the comments section. Cheers!

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  6 лет назад

      Hi Mr. Babu, first of all thank you very much for your detailed comment. I am overwhelmed by your appreciation. I appreciate that you've gone through the comments section of all my videos. I've noted that most people don't go through all the comments and because of which I've had to answer same or similar questions many times to different people. I haven't minded it though, as I am happy if my answers help people.
      Yes, you've rightly pointed that tea and milk containers have stubborn residue and hence difficult to clean even manually. Hence it is challenging to clean them in the dishwasher too. But pre soaking does help a lot in this. Whichever the program one may choose - low temperature quick program or the longest high temperature wash cycle, soaking does half the job of cleaning(I believe this to be the case even for manual cleaning).
      After all dishwasher just sprays a jet of hot water on the dishes and neither the highest of temperature nor the longest of program would give a good cleaning if the vessels are going to be dry with lot of grease, grime or residue. Hence soaking is a must if you are going to accumulate and load all the dishes at a time and not immediately after they are ready to be washed. If you've noticed in my demo videos, I throw the water filled in all the utensils, before loading in the dishwasher.
      Selection of program cycle depends on wash load. Generally long high temperature program cycle should be used for steel load with more grease and grime. Ordinary mixed load can be washed in the quick 29 minute cycle with quite good results. One can learn this by trial and error and by experience.
      I have been having and using my machine for the past 6 years without facing any problem whatsoever. So I am not in a position to answer regarding their service, promptness and spares availability etc..You could try contacting their helpline to get more information on this.
      But based on my experience with my BOSCH dishwasher, I am sure you would not find the need for service/spares. Of course much depends on the water hardness. Most of the problems in dishwashers as well as washing machines arise due to hard water scaling etc.. The dishwasher salt does the job of softening though.
      I hope I've been able to answer your queries to your satisfaction and you find them helpful.
      Thanks once again for not only watching but also sharing on your fb wall. After all the whole purpose of my demo video is to help people understand dishwasher in the context of Indian utensils and be relieved of maid/servant/domestic help problems that everyone faces these days. In case I've missed out on anything please feel free to ask.
      Thank you!

    Thanks for answering my question Mrs. Bhuvana Adi. My dosa Tawa is Futura and one more doubt . can I put electric rice cooker vessel and h and Hindaluminum cooker and Kadai and non stick Kadai

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад +1

      Hi Venugopalan, in my reply to your query, I meant iron dosa tawa to be safe to be washed in a dishwasher. Futura had got anodized coating, which though can be washed in short duration short program cycle, it is not advisable as the coating and shine will wear off after a few washes.
      Electric cooker vessel if aluminum, can be washed in low temperatures only as again the aluminium(hindolium) will get discoloured in the long run.
      Again it is better to avoid washing non stick in dishwasher.
      I've switched over totally to stainless steel utensils and cookers only for my cooking.
      Since I am totally dependent on my dishwasher for all my dishwashing needs, I avoid using any of these for my cooking. I have very few aluminium kadais which I use. For dosa I use only iron tawa, which I wash in the dishwasher.
      Hope I've cleared your doubts. It's my pleasure to be of help to my viewers. Please write to me in case you have more doubts about the dishwasher usage.
      Thank you.

    I purchased bosch dishwasher after checking few of your videos. Now enjoying the dishwasher after going through all your videos. A question: the edges and especially the pointy ends of the tines make small dents on vessels, even the on the tough SS cooker. How do I avoid this from happening?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  2 года назад +1

      Thanks Daisy. I'm really surprised about this as i have never faced this in all these years. This shouldn't happen as there is no movement of dishes, only water is being sprayed with a force. And I don't think water spray will cause dent.
      I can only suggest that you avoid keeping heavy stuff like cookers on the tines.
      I always keep my cookers on the flat portion only.
      Hope this helps.

    is bosch and siemens of the same quality(considering the fact that they jointly sell in india)? i could see that there are two major variants.. one that's the EU(european?) and the other one that is IN(indian)..is there any difference? how does LG compare to these brands?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  7 лет назад +2

      Thanks for the query. I am sorry I am not that knowledgeable on the brand value and commitment in India of Bosch & Siemens. I am aware that they both are German brands and are now part of the same group. Regarding individual performances, features and their adapting to Indian conditions, I cannot say who is better. I have no idea whether they get the same EU machines to India or whether they are adapted for India. I personally believe that Bosch is a reliable brand based on my experience. I have my Bosch dishwasher for almost 5 years and I have no complaints. Not everybody could be as lucky. My machine was from the first batch after launch in India and I am sure my piece was directly imported from EU. It had the EU plug and European manuals. But now I noticed that they have addressed these points.
      Regarding LG, I think as a brand it is good since I have their microwave oven and washing machine. Both have been working well. I saw their dishwasher in the showrooms and I thought they were good.
      In India dishwasher as an appliance sells in very less volumes. Because of this most companies are not focussing or putting any efforts on the item or on increasing the market. This is my personal opinion. I would request you to do your own research on the brands and their performances and other aspects.
      Thank you once again.

      Bhuvana A thank you so much for the detailed reply, and yes by watching your video, we are pretty much confident that it could be helpful for my house too! And just a quick question, can it wash the vessel in which clarified butter ( ghee, tuppa :) ) has been prepared?

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  7 лет назад

      Glad that you are convinced about the usefulness of a dishwasher. Sure it will clean the vessel/kadai in which ghee has been prepared.How effective will the cleaning be depends on whether your vessel is aluminium or steel. Because if it is an aluminium kadai, you can wash in a quick cycle only, which will not fully clean stubborn particles/residue stuck to it. Aluminium tends to discolour if put in a longer cycle of high temperature. But you get total cleaning of such vessels only in higher temperature cycles. So I would advise that for preparation of ghee use only steel kadais so that you can load them in higher temperature cycles.
      I plan to put a few more videos clearing various doubts raised by many of the viewers very soon. Please keep looking out for the same.
      Thank you once again and sorry for the delayed reply.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  4 года назад

      Hi Rajeswari, the dishwasher does not do any scrubbing. Cleaning of dishes is by powerful spray of hot water from the spray arms. Since you are using tablets you should be getting almost 95% cleaning of your dishes. But it depends on the following :
      1. dishes should be soaked if you load at a later time, if not it should be pre washed. Never load dry utensils.
      2. select correct program cycle, because lightly soiled dishes can be cleaned in a shorter low temperature cycle but moderately and heavily soiled dishes require to be washed in longer and high temperature cycle.
      3. dishes are to be placed properly and also not be too cluttered. Place more soiled ones around the periphery in the lower rack where spray arm sprays more and less soiled ones in the upper rack.
      4. adjust salt and rinse aid based on yur water quality.
      You can use Finish detergent for lightly soiled load instead of using tablets always.
      Follow the above and you should get best washing results. Please let me know how your cleaning results are after following the above instructions. Thank you.
      P.S. Watch all my other dishwasher videos on my channel, I've answered lots of queries in my 2 FAQ videos and have also covered various topics on dishwashers in the other 15 videos.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Renuka, you cannot open the machine half way during a cycle. The only method is to end the program by holding and pressing the start button, till it displays 1 minute remaining time. It will drain out all the water and end the cycle. Only then you can open the dishwasher to retrieve a vessel or change a program etc. After that you've to set a new program and start the machine.
      Hope this clears your doubt. Thank you.

Anyway, the latest models available now are mentioned in their website www.bosch-home.com/in/products/dishwashers/free-standing-dishwashers.html. I believe SMS60L12IN and SMS60L18IN are quite popular. However, I request you to check out the same at any showroom near your place before arriving at a decision.
      Assuming one load every day with a mixed use of long and short cycles, the power conumption per month should be around 40 units. Assuming a rate of Rs. 7/- per unit, the power cost per month should work out to about 280/- to 300/-.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад +1

      Hi Sreenidhi, thank you for finding my video helpful in clearing your doubts about dishwashers.
      Yes, you're right. The 3 things required for any wash in the dishwasher are 1) detergent for the cleaning, 2) salt for softening water and 3) rinse aid for spotless and shiny dishes.
      Detergent is a must for cleaning dishes, and the quantity depends on the degree of soiling of dishes.
      Tablets are a combination of detergent, salt and rinse aid and hence you need not use it rinse aid, provided your water quality is very good(soft). If your water is hard, you must use salt and rinse aid for good and effective cleaning whether you use detergent or a tablet.
      1 tablet is generally used for one wash cycle. Tablets being expensive and being a combination, it's better if it's used for a longer high temperature cycle than for short cycle, as it may be a waste for a short cycle. If you have very lightly soiled dishes, you can break a tablet and use half of it. You will still get the same cleaning.
      You can see few other videos on salt, rinse aid, water hardness, detergent comparisons and many more dishwasher related videos on my channel to get a more clearer picture about everything. Go to the dishwasher playlist on my channel to see the other videos.
      Thank you.

      Hi syed saif ali! First of all, I am very sorry for the delayed reply. I seem to have missed your comment totally. When I was checking my comments column today, I just came across your comment which I had not answered.
      From what you have written, I feel that the problem being faced by you could be due to the hardness of water. Since hard water has dissolved salts, these get precipitated on heating and coming in contact with a metal surface. The white stain you get on dishes is the scale deposit of this precipitation. You can try to get the hardness level of the water in your area (in fact in your house) so that you can set the salt and rinse aid consumption
      according to that. This should soften the hard water sufficiently to get good results without scale deposit.
      Also sometimes, some detergents could work better for your water type, so please try out two or three types of detergents to find out which is best suited for your area and water quality. This has been mentioned by one of my viewer. She informed that some of her problem got solved after shifting from Finish to Fortune.
      Actually before selling the machine, the company should visit your home, check the water hardness and advise you about the effect of water softness on the cleaning. But I believe no company does this.
      Hope this answers your query.
      Thanks once again and hope that your problem gets solved.

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  5 лет назад

      Hi Renuka, If the vessels are not cleaned properly, there could be many reasons - the programme chosen, location of vessels, degree of soiling of the vessels, quality of water, quality and quantity of detergent used and whether the spray arm nozzles are clogged.
      You have not mentioned whether all the vessels in the lower rack are not cleaned or only some. You have not mentioned which programme you have used. If these are known, it would be easier to find out the actual reason. Actually as I have mentioned in my "detergent comparison" video, more amount of Fortune detergent is to be used as compared to other detergents. Also try to place the more soiled dishes at the periphery of the rack where the spray arms have more holes thus spraying more water.
      Thanks.

      Thank you Attaulla Khanji for watching my video and liking it. I think at the end of my video I have shown the specifications including water and power consumption details. Anyway, mentioning them again for your information. According to their catalogue/manual, the water consumption per wash cycle varies from a minimum of 9 litres to a maximum of 19 litres. As you can see, even the maximum (which I would believe is for the longest and intensive cycle) consumption is less than one bucket of water. This economical use of water is a big advantage of using a dishwasher. Any kind of manual washing of dishes would definitely involve more water usage especially if done under running tap water. I hope I have answered your query.

      Hi Vijayalskshmi, sorry to learn about your problem.
      I'm indeed surprised by it, because once any wash cycle is completed and you open the door, there is bound to be little dampness in the inside of the door, which dries soon enough.
      Do you mean to say the water on the door is stagnant and doesn't dry at all over a period of time? In that case there must be some issue. Also let me know if there is water at the bottom of the machine? In that case there could be some clogging in the drain filter system.

      If there is a half load option (and you do not mind the time taken) in your machine you can use it. Else you can rinse and stack the used dishes in your machine till you actually run a cycle. If needed you can once again pre rinse and then choose a suitable program cycle.
      Except the Quick cycle, every other cycle has a half load option in Bosch.

    Hi ma'am..
    Are dishwashing detergent and rinsaid harmful for health??

    • @BhuvanaAdi
      @BhuvanaAdi  3 года назад +1

      Dishwasher detergents and rinse aids like all soaps, laundry detergents are chemicals indeed. But I have been using them and try to take precautions like just rinsing the washed utensils before use when I take them out from the shelf.
      Detergent though can't be avoided, using rinse aid is optional. You can avoid it if you have good soft water in your locality.
      But both detergent and rinse aid get thoroughly washed and dried totally by the end of the cycle.

    Tell me abt the electricity bill.n detergent cost ...is it equal to keep a maid.....plz clear this misconception

      Hi Pooja, I have answered this query in the comments column for a lot of viewers. Assuming one cycle per day, the average electricity consumption per month would be about 40 units. If cost per unit is ₹7 then monthly power cost is ₹280. Detergent/rinse aid/salt should come to another ₹180 to 200. These are my consumption levels and it could depend on the hardness of water at your place and also the level of soiling of dishes. I have posted two videos showing FAQs on dishwasher answering a lot of queries. Please check them out too. Thank you.
