Wambach is such a legend around the world. I see her as one the best football players out there (yes, including male players.) she's among my fav players. She's a true leader.
@@CarterIngram Look up women's soccer team gets beat by u15 boys. There is credible information to prove it. Also look at the Ben Shapiro video where he talks about why women are paid less. You might learn a lot. Other than that have a great day.
Abby Wambach is a legend who will never be forgotten for her fearlessness, commitment, headers, and especially her incredible impact on U.S. women's soccer.
Josh G where planet I was living? How I missed that? Me a USA 🇺🇸 soccer 72yrs old fan a grandmother. Never missed World Cup male and miss the females, I remember the World Cup woman in the USA in New Jersey. What channel show their games. Somebody can tell me?
I went to school with #ThanksAbby and #OnlyOneAbby written on my arms. everyone asked why and I said a soccer player who I looked up to was retiring. Everyone said I can find someone else to look up to.... that's not happening. You'll always be my roll model and the person that I look up to Abby. ❤ ❤❤
+Niraj Saini You're exactly right. Her playing days may be done, but that doesn't change who she is and what she gave us. And while she's retiring as a player I doubt this is the last we see of her. At the very least, we see her influence in the rest of the team.
+Sand Man you say you don't care, but then that begs the question why you are here commenting. Multiple times you come back to say how little you care. I suggest you take a long hard look at how pathetic you are, and do something to fix that before you hate yourself too much. Then maybe you won't be such an utter waste of everyone's time.
It's corporate greed has ruined the beautiful game, because the fact that you can't place a Bud light or a Buffalo Wild Wings commercial every two minutes has held back soccer in the United States for so long. It the youth sport which has the largest participation. The world's most popular sport yet here in America it is not embrace because the format doesn't work for the big broadcasters.
she is my hero! i am a change soccer player because of her ! if she wasnt a soccer player what will i be? she has tought be alot thourgh the years! THANK YOU GOAT!
That last minute goal against Brazil in the 2011 World Cup is literally what sparked my eventual obsession of the women's team. "WAAAMMBAAAACHH! TWO TWO! THATS WHAT YOU CALL USA RAZZLE DAZZLE!" 😆😆😆
Me too! Typing this in 2019, I've been an obsessed USWNT fan ever since that Wambach's goal. Most USWNT fan communities I know started at that time too. It was one of the biggest turning points of the USWNT history.
@@est9949 i mean tbh most countries don't give the women's teams nearly as much support as the USA does, therefore there is little to no competition. For example the women's team beating a South American team that has little to no support 6-0 is not entertaining at all
I only watched her for recent few years, but I like her playing style from the first moment I saw. She's big, prolific and strong. A complete forward. Unfortunately, I just knew that she was retired. I don't know if I will watch USWNT again with her absence. And I think it would be a long time before the world found another talent like her. Good luck Abby!
Even if I'm canadian, Abby was one of my idol. Always loved the way she was playing and her attitude. I play hockey (no I don't play soccer) and I choose the same jersey number than Abby. I got the chance to see her at the world cup when she came in Ottawa. She didn't play a lot but just having the chance to see her live was one of the greatest moment. I put my two ticket stubs in a frame and hung it in my home gym beside my Abby wambach poster. Abby you are the best :-)
What a truly inspirational, incredible, and undeniably amazing woman. So completely and utterly magnificent. An amazing role model and an amazing soccer player. today is an extremely important day in the history of women's soccer. I'll never forget it and I'll never forget Abby.
I haven't touched a soccer ball in over 10 years. I'm an equestrian, not a footballer. I'm even new to the whole world of the USA women's football team. But still, in that short time I knew her, Abby managed to inspire me more than anyone else. She made me realize there's no end in sight. There's no limit to how far I could take my riding. She made me realize my goal of wanting to be one of the top ranked riders in the world, in dressage. She made me realize that I can't do that by just sitting here, hoping it'll someday happen. I need to get up, and work harder than anyone else, when I'm both on and off my horse. For riders, training never ends. I'm up at 4 every morning to go train with my horse, before going to school. And when the day's over, I go back to the stables to see him again. Abby made me realize, that I can be whatever I work to be. One day, it'll be me winning that gold medal at the Olympics. One day it'll be me who is in the FEI World Equestrian Games. And they'll ask me who inspired me to go as far as I did. I won't say any rider's name, I'll say.... Abby Wambach. Thank you for helping me realize everything I can become💕
she tought me to always believe in my dreams and never give up.... she is one of my favorites soccer players... it is nearly to be 1 year since she retires but i still crying
I'm kind of sad cuz I wasn't able to see her career and her last few minutes, I wasn't able to watch her last game and the first full world cup tournament, first WWC i watched was 2015 I was happy to see her in the lineup and play and participate and she did great and she was a great leader and still is on and off the field. 2015 was the only tournament I was able to see her compete in and a little bit of 2011, but something in 2019 with this world cup you kind of listen to what Abby said in that discussion Huddle, she says "the first 10 minutes we score a goal" because of that, the USA women's team has scored a goal in the first 10 minutes every single match. I think this team is remembering and thinking about Abby. Amazing video.
Father time is undefeated. But Abby Wambach did more before the clock struck midnight than almost any other athlete in the history of international competition.
She is an icon, never to be forgotten.
DUI arrest and she didn't lose her job. If a man did the same thing she did he'd lose his job

Don’t ever compare women’s football to men’s, that’s disrespectful
