    No...you stalled it! and that arm unstuck from crash damage:-D
    Just the same, all the time you were flyin, it looked like it wanted to fly faster! for a stol model it sure likes it's speed!!!

    Rob that flew fantastic looked awesome in the air my heart jumped into my mouth when she stalled at the end didn't expect that. The damage could have been a lot worse thank God it was in one peace alittle fiddling and she will be back in the air good video guy's chin up rob well done fantastic job on the build.👍👍👍

    Great building job Rob and it flew very well, what impressed me was your attitude to the stall and slight damage to the model. A lot of flyers I know would have been flipped after all that hard work. Not you ! a lesson to all .
    Big thanks for your hard work and instruction. From the guys at Raglan flying site in Monmouthshire.

    It looks like a classic tip stall to me - which is easily done in any conditions and difficult to avoid in those clearly difficult bumpy conditions. I personally don't see the rudder deflect until the tail wheel hits the ground, so I suspect that it was the tail wheel impact that broke the rudder horn - despite the fact that you used a spring in the linkage. It's a testament to your build skills that there was so little damage to the model. Keep up the great work.

    You can see the rudder going hard over if you freeze the frame as the horn fails,I was surprised how well it flew Rob you could see the effects of the high aspect ratio wing in flight,a really tough model it really went in,you will get her flying again,a good attitude too towards crashes,well flown in less than perfect conditions down at the beach and it looked real against that angry sky backdrop.

    Looked like a nice flyer and well flown too. And now we know it’s tough as well. I’m looking at the ARF and will probably pull the trigger soon. Already have the Hobbyking 1100 version and that’s a great little flyer too, but quite sensitive to rudder input when in slow flight mode. Great video!👍🏻

    You did say it was over engineered. Excellent Idea on putting together a compendium video of all your mods. It will help us all. Do you have a recommendation for a new CG? Hope you also put her in the air again and post. I would like to get some feedback on the Flap performance. I have bought some Sullivan flying tail wires to help with the CG issue. I will start my build now. Thanks again for all your trail blazing on the build. It has helped me enormously. Cheers Brian

    Hi Rob,
    Had a fine flight until the rudder horn let go. You were up to 8 1/2 minutes when it spun in. We'll have to wait and see what it can really do once repaired.

    Watch in slow motion.... The rudder was straight when you tip stalled it in. Not sure why you don't admit the mistake.... We've all done it and you'll be a better pilot for learning from it. Thanks for uploading the vid.

  • @G56AG
    @G56AG 5 лет назад +3

    Classic tip stall, you can even see the plane nose up just before the tip stall and it falls off to the right. Aerodynamically a control surface that operates freely will go to where the rod pushes or pulls it, if the horn fails air flow will cause it to go to neutral. Its pretty obvious the control horn failed due to impact and not inflight. In pilot parlance that is called pilot error.

    • @arcticbraga322
      @arcticbraga322 2 года назад

      I agree with you, I think it was just a typical stall and the damage was due to the impact....question also the tail wheel/Rudder spring connection, makes harder to move the Rudder.

    Standard tip over when turning in slow speed with aileron and no rudder. Otherwise it doesnt seem to be the slow flyer as the original.

    Bummer on the 'landing' but it bounced pretty well! Watching the video in slo-mo you can see the rudder didn't move till after it hit the deck, so just a standard stall/spin ... we've all been there (well I certainly have). PS whatever happened to the Tornado ???

    • @KATBIRD1026
      @KATBIRD1026 5 лет назад +3

      If you watch in slow motion the rudder is neutral when the right wing stalls... On impact you can see the forces on the rudder break the control horn....

    • @frankienv3906
      @frankienv3906 5 лет назад +1

      @@KATBIRD1026 Yes I agree I saw the rudder in neutral position even as the plane headed straight down, and of course the rudder horn will break after the crash not before the crash...lol (I smell a cover up...LOL)

    A disappointing end to a maiden that was looking great. (Glad it wasn't your fault!) Originally I was considering getting the 'Storch' but after following the whole of this build and seeing what you had to contend with, I'm not as keen now. It seems you get more in the box than what you expect - things not fitting well, the number of screws required for the cockpit that will require the whole Chinese nation to fit. Sadly disappointing because it is a fine aircraft. I could tell that you were getting overwhelmed with this kit. But, you did well, very well, under trying circumstances. Maybe you should consider a project that is more relaxing and enjoyable or just enjoy the models you have for a while. Thanks from down under.
