I cried when he spoke about the attempted suicide. As my only brother hung himself in 2012. My parents found him, and my dad tried to resuscitate him, but he was already dead. Bless ya, mate.
I’m sorry
Probably one of the best pod casts I’ve seen very powerful and raw!that’s why our armed forces are the best in the world cause of the guest you’ve had on!!
Ex 2 Para here. Great hearing Dave's story tonight. Stay safe brother.
Mate this guy has made me have a whole new level of respect for the parachute regiment. The Brits 🇬🇧. Your dare mess with us your all dyin. Don’t ever beat yourself up. Stay strong my man.
This geezer is surreal to listen to, the insight and self awareness to acknowledge huge changes in his life even after everything he’s experienced is unbelievable. Good luck with life mate you deserve everything good that comes your way
Thank you for your service and r.i.p to all the fallen soldiers godbless thanks liam this is gonna be a banger
I've known several Aus, NZ a UK special forces guys (and others in the forces) over the years and have had conversations like this. I am always in an absolute awe that words can't describe, that's about all I can say.
Amazing pod, thanks Liam and especially Dave!
Amazing man and thank you for your service Dave❤, it makes me so bloody angry that veterans are pushed aside when out of the Army and have backs turned on them, being a parent of an veteran and things need to change as in our military and veterans need support. All the best Dave ❤
I have had mental health issues from sexual abuse at four till twelve, PTSD AND BPD. I function as I am sixty-eight years old however I have never felt completely healed. Places in Canada they do Ketamine treatments but I am too far away to try it. I think you are a brave man whose body and mind just one day said enough is enough mate. I am glad you have made it to the other side and thank you for your service, also my deepest sympathy for the loss of your mates. Oh, one more thing, they don’t pay you near enough money for what you do! Take care and stay safe and healthy! 🇨🇦❤ 1:39:04
My grandad joined the army at 17 lied about his age would only talk about the things he had seen and Done when he was very drunk.. I think of what the hell on earth it must of been like for the lads in the first world war .. no clean camps no air support no information just over the top .. and all them story's never told.. I take my hat off to anyone who's given there time to any army an come out the other side. Nothing good comes from war the way I see it 😢. Great podcast massive respect to you both glad his in a better place an is moving forward 👍
Hi Liam, wow what a deep story. One main machine of a guy I take my hat off, full respect to Dave. I am pleased Dave, found support with his mental health. I am currently studying L3 diploma in counselling. Thank you for this story always appreciate your work Liam, god bless. 💯🙏
This guy is a legend out of all the podcasts this gave me the goose’s 🙌🙌🙏🏼
So sad how the military build them up and leave them stranded 😢
Seen dave on another podcast before, absolute legend of a guy ,got the upmost respect for him and what's he's been through ,glad he's British and was fighting for us 👍🏻💪
I wish Dave all the best what incredible story. We should be looking after our veterans for putting there life on the line x
Brilliant, hats off to you both and thankyou for your service Dave, amazing story
What a cracking interview looks a troubled soul though, can’t comprehend what him and his mates went through so much respect, this country needs to put these brave people first above anything else
What an amazingly honest and genuine bloke! Another great interview Liam👏🏻
this brave man has got pain visible in his eyes. what a great podcast! fair play to you both.
Wow, just wow.... watching this I was fascinated, (with his stories we as civies would never know) Proud (you were one of us and fought for our country)... sad....(What you had to go through to get help)...Angry..(it was never noticed you weren't doing well) disappointed and disgusted...(How little help we and other countries give their veterans!)
Fantastic episode Liam keep them coming.
Onward and upward Dave.
Thankyou Liam, aI absolutely loved this and the way you are with your guests. Love hearing Daves stories. What a gentleman.

Salute to Dave, what a humble gentleman 🙌❤️💚
Massive Respect to this guy..
Beyond incredible..The understanding of those in command of the military doesn't appear to have improved since WW1.. Be in the now & may you find peace & happiness. 💚🌳🌻🦋🦉🐕🧙♂️👍🙏
WOW !!!!!!
i’ve been following you watching all your stuff Liam but that to me was the best total respect Dave
And thankyou for your service
Best yet.. Followed Dave on Instagram for a few yrs, what a dude. Thank you both 🇬🇧
Brilliant story can’t wait for the book thanks for your service dave
Incredible podcast. Massive respect to Dave and the fallen.
I think it takes a special kind of person to go in the military, and each and every serving and ex member of the armed forces has my total respect. Sadly though we are still seeing to many returning hero's being let down by Govt, and that has to be a priority for change.
Superb episode buddy,, wish Dave all the best with his future endeavours
What a great interview with an amazing man ❤️🏴
Really enjoyed this….the stories just took you to almost literally being there.
Well done buddy :)
1 word describes this man,,,,,, LEGEND!!!!!!
What a amazing story...all the best to dave 👏🏻👏🏻💙
Brilliant episode Liam. Thank you 🙏🏽
What a podcast what a legend
Another great podcast Liam really enjoyed this one
Here's a thought. Those at the top of the chain of command (in shiny shoes) who facilitate the training of individuals to become elite fighters, (but don't give a toss when individuals suffer), they then move on to find a position of grandeur in some well-known high profile veteran charity when they retire. One has to ask whether they are the foundation of the problem and the primary reason why only a tiny percentage of funding, intended to support Veterans, is actually disseminated to a programme intended to help our Veterans.
Fascinating story. Respect to him.
Thankyou for everything dave God bless you sir 🙏
I really enjoyed that thank you
Amazing podcast. Looking forward to the book.
Amazing podcast. Total respect to Dave. Who was the bloater you refer to guys….?
Brilliant interview
Gissa cuddle :) Brilliant interview style. God bless
Afraid of heights, made me laugh, my father, recently died, was 3 Para, & I could never get my head around him saying he was afraid of heights too, when I asked him how he got around it he said I just put my head down a went. I was surprised at how low they jumped from too.
He served 63-69, seen action in Radfan, my mother gave him an ultimatum, leave & come home to Northern Ireland or divorce, ruined his life, he was violent, he drunk every day too, right up to the end. They divorced anyway & you could see the regret in him every day. He’d have stayed in to the end, though you could see he had demons too, but given he was born in 1945, he wouldn’t talk.
My grandad was in world war 1 , he was a right loon , never talked about war was just a hard old man, never drunk or took enhancing drugs either.
Imagine if the UK went to war now the lads would say they are women 😳
This was brilliant.
Great podcast.
