Lots! We have a cave that we want to dig out, it has a lot of boulders in front from the entrance falling in and its full of gravel, but it blows Hella wind and water comes out when it rains
I'll bet that many caves like this actually extend well beyond the one piece of property, branching out under other properties that the owners don't even know about. I guess it all depends on who has an opening and who doesn't.
I know you guys would hardly be considered amateurs at this point given the large number of explorations under your belts, but I dont think I have seen you guys leave markers as you travel inside. With the extensive crawls, climbs, decents, and numerous passageways, do you feel safe enough in remembering your way? Are there times when you wished you had left markers or do you in fact leave them its just that we dont see them in the video very often? Im just curious. Great video as always, love your work. Cheers
I agree. My biggest fear in my caving days was getting lost. Coming back everything looks different. You might miss that little crawlway. Etc. hopefully they leave markers
I find it insane that you venture into caves like this without even tracing a line behind you to find the way out. How do you not get lost ? What if your batteries die? I have so many questions.
You sell humans short When you do this kinda stuff you usually travel in groups for the emergencies, but it's all familiar in time. That's part of the reason you should explore all possible entrances, exits, and rooms so you're certain about what you've seen and what you haven't. If you ever double back to leave and can follow the path of things you've seen, you're good. If you stumble into things you haven't seen, you go back to the last time you remember seeing a familiar feature and go from there until you're out :) It's even easier with a water feature. Get back to the point where the waters flowing, follow it out. :) That being said, many have died cavedwelling or exploring when their light goes out/they're alone. It's tragic how often they're within eyeshot of an exit, just can't see it.
It's pretty amazing that there are people out there, like you guys, that can remain calm and actually enjoy being in small places and I get claustrophobia anxiety just walking on a plane😂
Absolutely amazing find. Hope they know there’s a gem in their backyard. That climb was totally sketch, especially since rock was so crumbly and that false floor was, yikes! I loved how they kept telling you it was the end. That definitely carbide, btw. Messy stuff from the past. Awesome video.
That's kind of insane to think about the people ending up past those obscure deep wet crawls and sketchy climbs using nothing but carbide gas lamps. Talk about balls of steel
Thanks for taking me with you all! I had a great time! I feel exhausted! Pizza is on me! If I had a cave in my backyard I’d be installing LED lights throughout the cave! Bringing my iPad Pro and LiDAR-ing the entire cave!
It blows my mind that even with your modern equipment and expertise, combined with just how sketchy some spots were someone back in 1941 had still gotten to some of those spots! 🤯
Yeah and you have to remember they had early incandescent flashlights or old carbide lamps. Not very much light, maybe only see 5-15 feet around yourself.

@DannyMancheno Something like 65% of Yellowstone National Park is still unexplored. There's so much of the American West that remains unexplored that theoretically there could still be uncontacted Indigenous tribes just living life like it was still 1492. It’s crazy to think that in 1941, someone (Baker) made it that deep into the cave with such primitive equipment.
