    Just an FYI from a rock climber - spinning hangers on bolts aren't a safety issue unless the bolt itself can be moved or there's clearly a lot of space between the hanger and the rock. You can bring a small wrench with you to tighten spinners if you want, just take care not to overtighten them since that can actually make them unsafe.

    I got a cave on my land, but the opening is too small to get in. I am thinking to rent an excavator to open up the entrance. I was planting some small bushes at 11pm and heard several loud bang sounds coming from the ground below me. Then felt the ground shaking. So I know the cave is a big one! This summer a sink hole opened up, so that might become a better entrance.

LOTS of ancient artifacts and bones in them.... Cool reason to become a cave diver... Got me started in 2010... Dry caves actually make me nervous in restrictions sometimes... Total reverse crazy... Cavezip is a Wildman, that is what he does. Nothing out of the usual here

    • @rpglennj
      @rpglennj Год назад +2

      Yeah, this could have been much worse than how it turned out. It’s potentially worse than a chatter issue, especially if it’s known that this is his “usual” demeanor. Other vids show some participants running through passages, where one actually fell 3x, finally complaining of some kind of injury. Wildman or not, whoever is leading the trip should have ensured Cavezip (and others) were properly geared before entry, and at least prevented/stopped any option of him attempting to “Indiana Jones” (9:55) a pit……in sandals. Even ole Indy himself is unlikely to self-extricate with a compound femoral fracture, three pits deep. When caving is driven by monetized content creation, there’s a fairly obvious dynamic at work here, where more risky behaviors are taken when one is aware they’re being filmed. I hope someone recognizes this and effects some changes in time to prevent a more disastrous outcome in the future.

    • @funfinding4two955
      @funfinding4two955 Год назад +3

      Cavezip has been caving for 32 years 4 months 3 days and 46 minutes as of now, he is a professional, he had that 100% under control, and hopefully nothing you say will change or alter the caving animal he is to this day. He fears no cave, nor pit. I watched this man free climb out of a 350ft pit barefoot in a waterfall with no shirt on in the middle of winter while eating a double cheese burger in one hand, he's a complete Wildman.

    • @rpglennj
      @rpglennj Год назад +1

      @@funfinding4two955 What happened at 10:28, in that last 18-20 feet was NOT a controlled descent. The witnesses (young lady and one of the twins) even remarked "you mean to do that?" and "wow, you good?" Look, I'm not trying to randomly come down hard on any of you. I'm sure Cavezip is a fun dude above and below-ground. The point is it's really not about one person or their resume of good times, but what kind of underground risks are allowed and taken or averted by the group. Those are things decided before entry. One person's decision could imperil the rest of the group. Caving ought to be fun and there's no question the entire audience is entertained. But, that the group has so far avoided (to my knowledge) a more major mishap is no guarantee one won't happen, given decisions made here and in a few other videos. Hopefully, you're as mentally/physically prepared as a group for that possibility as you are coming away with the fun memories.

    Oh there's the little cutie with the fuzzy helmet. AND a pink helmet. I love that. I never really grew up. This is a fun episode.

      Thanks, I have plenty of back up helmets that are the same as that one, it's how people know me.

      @@funfinding4two955 I did not see you in the later parts of the video, did you ascend back up or did you just wait at one of the drops you did not make?

      @@-_agomon_-sierre7162 we did the main drop, then went back up with the guy who got stuck on rope at the beginning of the video and got him out of there. He had enough for the day.

      @-_agomon_-sierre7162 we posted the video on our channel of when Edward "the twins" were at the bottom and we had to help one of the guys who got stuck from our point of view. It was a very strange situation, the only reason Edward was at the bottom first was because he had to go help a previous group who was stuck without a rope down at the bottom of the first drop, It was a wild/interesting day for sure. Have a good one✌️
