- A Lakeland man, accused of murdering his girlfriend and burying her body, then attacking a Polk County deputy who tried to arrest him, was turned in by his mother, according to the sheriff's office.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Auburndale police received a call from the mother of 37-year-old Jason Robinson around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, reporting that her son had just told her that he had killed his girlfriend.

This is something the Laundrie family needs to take a look at. This mother has done the right thing.

Why? You really think they know where their son is. Families of the murderer are victims too. I'm sure before they found her body Brian told his parents he had nothing to do with it. Coming from someone who almost died in an abusive relationship, abuse and manipulation don’t happen overnight. It is a process. I see myself in the body cam footage of Gabby. I have been the battered woman defending the shitbag.
Sadly in many a society and some might say globally, domestic abuse (the real conversation) is all too common. There is the honeymoon phase, then the abuse slowly starts if it hasn’t already.
He did not “snap” and even if he did it DOES NOT make murdering his girlfriend okay! Adults are expected to control their temper.
The authorities think he did it. I’m willing to bet once they got her body they found the proof. Otherwise they would not be spending so much money and resources looking for Brian dirty Laundry.

What parents need to recognize is - they can still visit their offspring if they want. It's not like losing a son.
The alternative is - the offspring is crazy and puts the parent at risk of harm, or the offspring is shot dead by the cops.
It's much safer for the parent to avoid becoming an accessory after the fact and going to prison too. The parent stays alive, the parent can visit the kid, and the parent doesn't do time.
Logical choice: cooperate with civil authorities.

As a parent you are supposed to protect your child at all cost, that includes protecting them from hurting others and committing crimes. Good for this Mom knowing that ultimately this was best for her son, so he doesn’t hurt anyone again; It truly is a selfless act that she gave up the rest of her life with her son, just to protect everyone.
I agree with this. if it was my kid, I would turn him in, not because of any high minded reason, just that it is the best thing for my kid. If he did it, I want him to be stopped at one murder and not have two or more on his soul. I want him to be stopped and even if he gets the death penalty, I want him to have psychological help before they kill him.

It would have been more heartbreaking if the mom didn't turn him in she absolutely did the right thing. Any parent that tries to protect a violent felon or murderer has to flip the switch and think if it was their daughter murdered and buried in a yard what they would want to happen to the one who did it.

Exactly. Decent parents don't want to raise children to become criminals. It's immoral, embarrassing to the parents. It's just like when children start stealing stuff from neighbors, friends home, so the parents have to force child to return and cause embarrassing, and the child won't do again. It's common in many states, the most I've seen is 60 something and I've regularly come across guys with 20 to 40 + , many judge's are just too lenient and should be fired
Oh, maybe you have not heard of Tony "TJ" Wiggins also in Florida? 230 felonies at 26 years old...He ended up killing 3 friends recently over some car parts. The state is seeking the death penalty. I need a judge to explain to me how it is possible the guy was out in society.

Now that’s a mom. My grandmother had my father arrested because he stole money that she gave him to take to someone. When she asked him for the money, he lied and stated that he got beaten up and the money stolen. My grandmother didn’t believe him do she called the district constable who lived close by. He spent the night in jail and she was under a tree in the jail yard the whole night. In the morning they released him to her. He was 16 years old. Never stole anything again in his life and never got arrested again.
That is true love of a parent. Clearly she was pained by doing that but she still did it to teach him accountability and looks like he learned it very well. These other people should learn a thing or two about parenting from your grandma's actions

Brian could had told them that he found her dead and he doesn't know who did it.
Then when Brian went out for a jog to relieve stress, one of those people who jumped into conclusion kidnap and murdered Brian.
This case could have 2 different crime scene and everyone is jumping into conclusion except for the FBI.
