  • A Lakeland man, accused of murdering his girlfriend and burying her body, then attacking a Polk County deputy who tried to arrest him, was turned in by his mother, according to the sheriff's office.
The Polk County Sheriff's Office said Auburndale police received a call from the mother of 37-year-old Jason Robinson around 8:30 p.m. Saturday, reporting that her son had just told her that he had killed his girlfriend.

Maybe they helped him escape or maybe they had no idea he was going to run. Either way I highly doubt they know where he is and I feel bad that ppl seem to lump in the family with the murderer. Like just bc its his parents they would know he murdered someone? No parent is going to believe that unless there is concrete evidence. Just bc its their child doesn't mean they raised him to be a murderer or even know how to react in this situation. Ppl just want to spew hate at anyone they can. I feel bad for his family and gabbies family. All of then victims of Brian.

What parents need to recognize is - they can still visit their offspring if they want. It's not like losing a son.
The alternative is - the offspring is crazy and puts the parent at risk of harm, or the offspring is shot dead by the cops.
It's much safer for the parent to avoid becoming an accessory after the fact and going to prison too. The parent stays alive, the parent can visit the kid, and the parent doesn't do time.
Logical choice: cooperate with civil authorities.
