Pt 1 of 3 Chopping Down More Great Buildings - Which Ones and Why

  • With Inno changing the stakes on so many enticing event buildings, a number of Legacy GB's are being deleted by players looking to optimize every bit of space on their city builds. Before I redesign my city, we take a last look at a number of GB's I'm deleting due to overall gameplay trends.
    Footnotes on this video:
    I mention the Cape Canaveral being a crap GB. Technically it's not for its efficiency just on FP creation. However, it takes a year to break even as it levels up...and nowadays we want FP/Battle Buffs/Goods and other elements from any buildings we plant. The takeaway here is to not build one if you haven't yet (IMHO).
    I refer to jumping Pumpkins replacing the deletion of my CoA. Other fine candidates that I didn't discuss (likely better ones) are the Cider Gardens and Feta Farms). Jumping Pumpkins have a negative population concern, but they are also a production building. The point is we now have several good options to outpace OG Unitask GB's of the past.

    I would hesitate to dismantle anything. In the same way I was hesitant to sell off certain selection kits from an event building I was less than thrilled with. Now of course I am so glad I did not rush to sell them because "gold upgrades" added new life and more rewards to those buildings I did not want originally, and now they sit in my city. I know people who had to rebuild ToR when Level 5 hit us - and not because level 5 is all that, but Forgotten Temple is a must have for anyone who partakes in QI - not to mention the sweet fp bonus on collections. And look how amazing Blue Galaxy is now that special buildings offer all that they do - it's become an absolute must have as well. A lot of people did not bother much with settlements, calling them a boring waste of time - look at the boost those buildings got!! And now they included the "ascended" levels. Careful how quick you jump to delete things on FoE - it might bite you in the ass.

      You are certainly on the right track. I've only deleted GB's that I could easily rebuild. See my newest video from today discussing just what you are talking about. Old becomes new. It's logical for the game to survive. I applaud Inno for making Settlement buildings relevant. And others you mention. I align a lot with what you are saying. I did delete my traz and CdM. No regrets yet, but they are cheap to rebuild. I do save almost everything without selling in the AD. I'm actually glad the AD wasn't more 'valuable'. Never felt like it was worth trading most stuff for perceived garbage.

    Alcatraz can still be more efficient in producing units. It’s also enabling it’s owner to produce specific units. Light units are not that good in most ages. Alcatraz’s efficiency is much better to maintain an army during heavy GbG seasons. Having an strong supply of great units for GbG, heavily outproduce the cider gardens.

    • @foeadvance7024
      @foeadvance7024  6 месяцев назад

      For Diamond League GbG (for me) a 100+ lvl Traz is critical. During back to back competitive seasons many guild members are flipping them multiple times per day after smoking 300+ unit per day.

  • @Mxkillstreak
    @Mxkillstreak 6 месяцев назад +6

    I think there's even an argument to be made about deleting Alcatraz. There are a lot of event buildings that produce units now. Imagine replacing all that space with cider gardens for example. You can put 17 cider gardens in that space. In SAT that's an extra red 153 Att/ 221 Def + 205 blue Att. It produces (on average) 25 light units and 25 rogues daily. As well as 85 FP. There's probably even better buildings to put there, depending on what you need. Worth thinking about.
    In the past few weeks I've deleted my Cape, LoA, BsM, Inno tower, Hagia, ToB, Truce. All a waste of space really and helped me quite a bit in placing newer special event buildings

      Further example of power creep. See latest vid I just posted affirming this. For Diamond League GbG (for me) a 100+ lvl Traz is critical. During back to back competitive seasons many guild members are flipping them multiple times per day after smoking 300+ unit per day.

      I've been thinking of deleting Traz too, given all the recent event buildings (e.g. Winter Pyramid).
      I'm glad I realized that Traz lets you produce a good amount of units of the type that you want, instead of random units from your Age. (Thinking auto-battles.)

    • @yuliang5900
      @yuliang5900 6 месяцев назад

      Is there any other building that works exactly like traz? I learned the hard way that those building event that produce units(ie knight pavilion) give you a random one from your age, but what we need for example in future is just Tanks and Rogues so...

      A guy in my Guild in B2 deleted his Traz and immediately regretted doing it. We are a GBG heavy guild and he realized it was a mistake very early into the following GBG season.

      Good to know, my Alcatraz is definitely to stay for now. We'll see what the future holds for unit production. Hopefully they'll release more buildings like cider garden that produces specific type of units so you can decide what you want. As a future player, I'm hoping for a building that produces heavy units.@@user-mp4qb5yi6j

    Will be interesting to see how your strategy plays out. A little skeptical about getting rid of the CdM and to a lesser extend the CoA, but will see how you resolve the happiness challenge. In general I agree with the goods GBs, FP only GBs, etc. You could fit more buildings in by optimizing your road utilization too. Have fun!

    GB you should have and never delete:
    - arc
    - frontenac (only giga chads knows how extremelly powerful this GB is)
    - blue galaxy
    - seed vault (diamonds, we never have enough diamonds)
    - space carrier + himeji (same reason, diamonds. Negotiating is pretty fast on cellphone)
    - AOrangery (+ critical hits = - killed units)
    - saddly . . Alcatraz (last event building gives you 12 units x 16 squares..)
    - observatory + athomium + AI Core + hydra (only decent players has all these buildings and at a high level and know how important they are).
    - st.mark. . .you can buy a lot of FPs with gold and this GB for sure helps with that. For me, now each FP costs 2.9M. so imagine hoy many I have bought!.

    Some of these buildings when I started in C2 I never built. I didnt build the ToB, GT, InnoTower, LoA, SmB, or the CC. For a long time I didnt even have the CoA. My city is much more focused on passive guild goods, but playing in a newer server maybe the guild treasury is more of an issue. My sleigh builders are long gone. Currently im working on replacing my Eagle Mountains. The game has definitely changed with how good event buildings are. But im of the opinion that inno has to boost GBs because were eventually not going to have a place to use FPs if GBs continues to become irrelevant.

      Thanks for weighing in. I've been off for a bit. My explanation is to say why I'm deleting (or considering doing so) - each to do their own math and decisions. Like any of us, I can be right on this game for a week, then wrong for a year. I killed off CdM and LoA is next. Easy for me to rebuild, but that's easy to say when I'm popping out 4K of FP per day. I was glad to see they boosted the Obs, but that was related to killing GvG. Treasury issue is huge, glad to see they are popping more creep in that direction. I stand by my Sleigh Builders since when I would enter a new era that relied on co-operative resources such as AF and on, I could start popping out goods the same day I got there by just one-upping my SB's. I'll never delete mine lol

I've been thinking lately about the subject pf GB's and what I need, so my CC is on the block (I need to stop buying things just because I can :^P). One question, at what point do military buffs stop being helpful? I got stuck the other day in GE lv 4, and went into inventory and added a 300 on off. and 300 on def. and it didnt change the outcome at all. Thanks for the videos, Cheers!

    Do you use sleigh builders because they are a “production building from your age.” So you can do the event quests. Or is it mainly for the goods but also works for the event quests too.?
    I’ve always wondered that because I’d rather just have event buildings that produce goods and more all in one.

      Thanks for the question - I'm getting a lot about the SB's. So yes because I collect SAT goods daily from them, and yes they work good for event quests as well. Aside from battle buildings, I put down everything possible that can produce current era goods for SAT, since our guild contends for 1st and 2nd place in Langendorn each season. I currentlly produce 3500 SAT goods per day. With the GbG changes for sector support building costs, we are donating 20 to 50K SAT goods per season (per player in many cases) to the treasury, in addition to what goes in from our treasury support buildings. Plus I can use SAT goods to trade down quickly for needed lower era guild goods.

    One of your recent videos helped convince me to nuke my Flying Island and I am so grateful for that, because it was such a space hog for a pretty pitiful return tbh. Mine wasn't high level (only 24), but I could just tell that the rewards you did get, even if it was more often, weren't of much value to me, especially now that things like renos and one-ups can be created from other buildings in my city. I've had to delete a few GB's in recent years, and the worst thing for me is feeling like I wasted FP's but you bring up a great point: they were useful for the time, but once they've outlived their usefulness it is what it is, better to free up the space for something else than cry over spilled milk, essentially.
    Btw your FP stash is crazy, almost 150k! Do you do a lot of sniping? Your Arc is getting dangerously close to that 180 mark for the 2.0 boost. I definitely think it's worth reaching that plateau before switching gears and focusing on the Titan GB's, but that's just me. Always enjoy your videos, and your humility as well. You know what you don't know, and you're not shy about pointing it out when it's the case, which is refreshing.

    • @foeadvance7024
      @foeadvance7024  6 месяцев назад

      Appreciate the kind words! I record these videos not for popularity or to claim myself and expert. I see it as a way to grow my own game along with others. The reason for 150k is once upon a time I sniped A LOT. I was sniping 2000 to 3000 FP profit per day. I started at about 10K FP in my bank and ran it up to 200K on hand in about a year (and I had spent much of what I received along the way). I don't snipe anymore, not enough time.

    • @leson599
      @leson599 6 месяцев назад

      @@foeadvance7024 I really hope you used to snipe the solo leveling people or profit by 1.94+ arc, but if you were not then that's a really.... how to say this... a hole behavior. I don't know, I'm still kinda new to the game, but it really turns me off if I lost FPs because of sniper profiting off me. Wonder how many people quit the game because of snipers?

    I wonder if they might upgrade some of the GB to prevent them from becoming obsolete, for example, increasing the military boost buildings to 1% per level after level 10 instead of 1% every other level.

    • @foeadvance7024
      @foeadvance7024  6 месяцев назад

      I sure wish they would, however general opinion has been Inno's reluctancy to enhance or downgrade over the years. There's only been a couple of examples, and nothing recently. The new trend I'm seeing is that GB's aren't as lucrative for the Money Model. The golden event buildings seem to be where Inno wants to really put the power creep in...enticing players to spend $25 or $30 bucks per seasonal event.

    Sadly you can no longer stack coin or supply boosts over 10 at a time. I manage 29 cities and when a city crossed into SAM and I opened the Rocket Testing Site I would take a full day and take my coin inventory from 50M to 30B using Urban Houses and my supply from 25m to 4B. I was able to do this over 18 times. Now it is impossible but I can still get to 5B coin and 3B supply to get me to Titan Age. I am Phoenix Sin in all US worlds

    1. Arc - ...
    2. Traz - units for GBG
    3. BG - fragments
    4. AO - because of Crit chance in GbG

    5. CF - because i do a lot of recurring quests (for goods but thats also optional if you have no diamond quests left)

    - Why have so many sleigh builders? You only need a handful of them for quests (though you already have quite a few Jumpin' Pumpkins, so you don't need any sleigh builders). Replace them with event buildings that generate goods and have attack bonus.
    - The "Roads to Victory" are rather inefficient. I got rid of mine.
    - The Cape Canaveral is far from the most useless GB in the game. Level 180 Arcs don't level themselves.
    - The LoA and ToB would be my first to go

You have so much space available with a proper redesign. The roads to victory, the gaggle of sleigh builders, the buildings surrounded by extra roads, the Tower of Champions even being on a road, let touching like a dozen of them….all this offered in the spirit of trying to help because I really, really do enjoy your videos.

    little concerned about what you are saying in this video. First you are talking about dumping the LOA, SMB, all good and fine. The COA--you talk about putting in pumpkins, but I could redesign your city rigth now, cleaning up bldgs on long side of roads, etc and keep this. You also have tons of room in your city, why would you cripple yourself by deleting attack? The winter buildings--Cappy and other, I would consider removing these till your happiness is up, as they impact your coin collection and supply collection. For what they give, I am still a fan of the trinity.
