    My man, this is a great video on using OCF for beginners/budget setups. But you could get a Godox V1 + flash trigger for less than $300. You could get a whole ass Amaran 300C for less than $600. There's absolutely no reason to spend $900 on a speedlite lol

      I run the Godox V1 and AD100 on most shoots but I've used the Profoto a few times now and the light quality is different. Especially when it comes to editing. The profoto just has a cleaner and more consistent look, but for me is wasn't enough difference to justify the cost difference. My gear is in and out of a motorcycle. It gets bashed around quite a bit and it makes more sense to replace the Godox at it's price (which I still haven't needed to do yet) instead of the Profoto.

      Yeah godox is much cheaper and the final result is kinda the same. The thing is, working with big brands requires consistency. A Godox V1 is not reliable, it breaks easily compared to a Profoto. A professional photographer can't take that change.

    This is the exact type of set up I used back in my Night Club photography days (2012 - 2016). At the time, I used Nikon camera with speedlight and my Cactus V5 Transceivers. I had my camera in my right hand and the flash in my other hand. This method made my photos pop and made me stand out then the regular Nightclub photographer's with the flash mounted on top of the camera.

    These flashes are great - but - the Good V1 is as good at a fraction of the price - you could buy 4 Godox units for the price of 1 Profoto! Sold all my Profoto equipment just for that reason - and I have never regretted it!

      @@gablebrandonyep. I have the v860iii which is the same flash just rectanglular instead of round head, and it's worked great. I'm not a pro, but I know plenty of pros use godox for events and weddings. For $1000 with godox you could literally get a kit from b and h that's 2x ad100w, an ad300pro, three light stands, a couple cheap modifiers and a case. That's like an entire 3 light set up for the price of one flash.

    • @mKruter
      @mKruter 4 месяца назад +8

      yes, this. I've been PRO for almost 20 years shooting events and portraits. Profoto is great for many things but it's not what the small, independent creators should be using. Godox (of Flashpoint from Adorama) is 99% the same thing for a 25% the price.

    Spot on with the lighting techniques will def affect final output. Expensive camera bodies only fastens photo capture these days. I use my original Canon EOS M plus some Nikkors and two AD200, banger shots. Clients really don't know if it was shot in an old DSLR or new mirrorless camera. Color, lighting and composition matters to them.

    I’ve picked up the godox AD200 Pro which is 200w/s vs 76w/s it’s more than twice as powerful and 1/3 the cost of the A10. But it’s not a speed light so you’ll always need a stand or spare hand.
    Some Profoto and Godox lights are basically the same, I’ve also used my godox trigger to trigger Profoto lights.
    The guy who ran the studio I was renting told me they’re sort of the same company but different distributors. The other caveat being the Godox warranty is not based in the UK so getting things sent off and fixed is more of a pain.

      alot of people equate ttl to using the automatic mode on your camera. its just less control i guess. Plus idk if the flash would communicate with the camera. Itd be dependent on the hot shoe mount of the f100. All the different camera manufacturers have slightly different pin connections on their hot shoe mounts. thats why theres multiple versions of speedlights to meet the need of communication between camera and flash for ttl.

      @@eladbari i mean your other option is a light meter. i think ttl meters off of whatever camera setting u have for metering so if youre bouncing flash off of a wall or something, youll probably have to do some exposure compensation on the flash. that probably doesnt apply to your cause youre using film. a light meter or learning all the stops and making educated guesses would be your best bet i think. good luck.
