    It was a crime not allowing us to get his armor. It looks so badass

    After the disappointment that was Veilguard, I finally decided to commit to a full Origins playthrough. I only watched LPs before ^^' I already wanted to play as a city elf, so this build was exactly what I was looking for! Thank you for your work :)

    Cool Video.
    Ironically, my oldest saved character on my current installation of DA:O was an attempt at creating a "Duncan" player character. (I named him "Nacnud".)
    Granted, one of my MAIN focuses was to make him also LOOK like Duncan. But sadly, I suck at the character creator and can never seem to make my character LOOK like what I wanted it to! (I even once tried to make a PC Warden look as much as possible like a DARKSPAWN! But again, I failed badly.)
    That said, I went with the Human Noble, dual weapon rogue build. (I agree that Duncan is a rogue. After all, one COULD argue that he used "Below the Belt" when he KICKED that darkspawn over the cliff in the intro cutscene.)
    "Thematic Builds" are fun IMO.

    Great build this is a playstyle that's quite interesting and fun. Also to be inspired by Duncan makes it that much better. Curious though in terms of leveling attributes, would you do the 2-1 method like 2 Dex-1 Strength or would you reverse that? Also once you get 31 or 34 in strength, would you then do the 2-1 leveling method for Dex and Cunning?

    • @btiermutineer
      @btiermutineer  2 месяца назад +1

      @@Protege88 dex-str split in the beginning depends on what you prioritize: upgrading your sword and armor, or upgrading your dagger, atk+def, and unlocking more dual wielding abilities. For the first few levels while you're in Ostagar, you don't have any good upgrades for swords and armors (other than Ser Garlen's Sword if you aren't a city elf or human noble). So I'd recommend 2 in dex and 1 in str, but you could even go 3 in dex if you're trying to unlock a particular dual wielding ability quickly. Dex also helps you with both attack and defense, so it's very useful early game. Once you're in Lothering and can start getting yourself some better gear, I recommend switching to 2 Strength and 1 Dex, or even 3 strength if you're planning for example on going early to the Dalish Camp to do Varathorn's quest to get his armor. Once you reach 31/34 Strength, you won't have enough points imo for Cunning to be super useful to try to go all in on it. So I recommend continuing after that with 2 Dex and 1 Cunning. Of course, if you have any specific skills or abilities you want to unlock earlier that require more Cunning than you have, feel free to put some points in it!

    Could you make a lore appropriate Loghain build one could use if respeccing him or a Loghain inspired build maybe for a Cousland who grew up idolizing him? Or would that just be too similar to an Alistair build? Maybe with a bow, Loghain used to use a bow. Just begging you to talk about my husband frankly.

    • @btiermutineer
      @btiermutineer  8 дней назад +1

      @@KuningannaSansa lol, I imagine that even if Loghain used to use a bow he likely didn't keep up with it much since he's in full plate and sword and shield. The build would be either too similar to Alistair, or else similar to my damager-tank hybrid warrior (but instead of Reaver I'd have him use Champion). Unfortunately, you also recruit Loghain super late so you only get to do some side quests and DLC content if you didn't already finish it, and otherwise the battle of Denerim. But I'll see if I can think of something interesting for Loghain when I have the time 😊

    Hey man noticed in your vid and in my game the dreads hair glitches on the elf but not for other characters. You know of a fix for that or not really? Did you just get used to it glitching?

    Is light armor viable for this build?

    • @btiermutineer
      @btiermutineer  Месяц назад +1

      yeah, you can definitely use light armor. The reason I use medium armor in the build is to honor Duncan's type of armor, but as a rogue you can obviously use light armors with ease

    • @Alopkaable
      @Alopkaable Месяц назад

      @btiermutineer I am still planning to invest points into strength to use swords. I just wanted to know if I am losing much by deliberately using light armors even though I meet strength requirements to use medium armors.

      @@Alopkaable You're not losing out on much. Battledress of the Provocateur and The Felon's Coat, in particular, are amazing light armors with great stats!
