Thank you so much for sharing a tour! Can you give helpful hints about parking and what is the best option? Is it best to bring your own food?

Parking just outside the Observatory is not free, so if you want to drive up and conveniently park just outside the Observatory, you will need to pay a fee. Parking in this lot can be a huge hassle on weekends, so if you don't plan on arriving before it opens, I recommend you don't even try to park there. Next up is taking the bus. All around Los Feliz, you can take a dart bus for a couple of bucks, and busses will drop you off at the parking lot. Other ways to get around are parking at other locations where parking is legal and walking up to the Observatory along the many miles of trails in and around Griffith Park. You can take your own food if you don't want to purchase at the cafe, and having a picnic just outside the Observatory is a blast on the soft grass or on the benches

There is actually. LADOT operates a DASH line from the Los Feliz area up to the observatory
