I bought Nicola's book as well... I'm struggling to understand the difference between the cusp and the ruler of the house. Wouldn't they be the same? For example, if the example chart of Amanda has the 5th house cusp at 25 Taurus, Venus is the ruler of the 5th house and also the 5th house cusp is ruled by Venus. Would that not be redundant to count that twice? Thank you!
In the example, the 25th degree of the 5th house cusp will point to what term/bound (likely Saturn or Mars) and the decan/face (Saturn) so that you can give the points to those respective planets when you are calculating the almuten.
