I keep saying this... People don't understand what colossal work Isaignani has done in all his songs. Most people are addicted to his songs but they don't really understand the music behind them, the musical language behind it. Lidia, you are doing an amazing job in bringing that musical language and emotions behind his works. Kudos to your work.
Btw, I keep saying this in all the reaction videos, I was there when this happened. The reason why the audience laughed was the entire auditorium was quiet for 5 mins. Imagine keeping rabid fans of Raja sir silent for the entire 5 minutes. So when someone accidentally made a noise, it made someone else uncomfortable since Raja sir was writing music. That person let out an uncomfortable laugh, which became contagious and everyone laughed. Then the entire hall went back to silence again.
For most of us, it felt like we were all meditating for the entire five minutes because he was so focused and was on another plane while writing the score. Unforgettable experience.
Btw, Raja sir writes all his music in western notation.

It's a shame it was supposed to be a "Masterclass Event". It turned out to be talent showcase event where the hall was filled with plain fans like me (so is the host), not music students or aspiring professionals. Ilaiyaraaja himself was disappointed when audience were asking him to perform instead of asking him technical questions and gaining some knowledge. A Maestro like him deserves talents like you in the audience to ask intriguing technical questions. He would be very happy to teach. Unfortunately, India is yet to accustom for those kind of events.

7:23 Once a director narrated this story happened during a movie's song composition: Movie Name Avadaram, Actor & Director Nasser.
Mastero told him to come for composition in the next day morning. Nasser went to Mastero's studio and saw him wrting something very fastly. It looked like a person writing a letter in anger / love, with such emotions. This writing continued for almost one hour. The director started to think, "if he wants to write some personal letters, why he had given an appointment and wasting my time". The director thought Mastero is writing some personal letter and after realising his appointment to this director, Mastero is speeding up to finish the letter as soon as possible. After an hour, Mastero finished his writing and called one of his assistant and gave all that papers he wrote. Then, after this Mastero started talking to Nasser. Nasser asked, sir shall we start the composing session? Mastero replied, oh your songs composition were completed, come in the afternoon, and you can hear the song.
Then, the director came to know that letters he was writing, fastly were not letters, they are musical score sheets written in western classical notes.
One of that song composed was, Thendral vandu theendum podu, you reacted few days before..
You are Doing a great work. Continue. God bless you.

There are two reasons why Ilaiyaraaja didn't get the recognition that he deserved in India. 1) Complete ignorance about western classical music in India. 2) The usual North Indian, South Indian divide and prejudice owing to language and skin color politics which led to the suppression of South Indian geniuses and their world class achievements.

Hi Lidia, How did I miss your channel so long...as I am a devotee of Ilayaraja's Music. I have subscribed your channel and going to ask all my friends especially north Indians to do that. I always felt bad that North Indians and foreigners do not much value Ilayaraja and his compositions just because people here do not care much about taking him forward. As a country we have failed in this. He himself does not demand that being a very simple man. You are great not because of your talent but because of your passion to do what others would not. You conscientize the international community that there is a great musician here unrecognized and less appreciated. Kudos Lidia.

I ll explain this in simple terms.
Music for this situation is not horrific. Its a fight within. It has to destroy your innerself before committing something like that. Hence the piece is resolved into inner self rather than the outro.
