Definitely will be tuning in more often bro! I just got cleared into Remission from battling cancer and I’m already back to playing the drums at my church! Going to definitely be watching you bro so I can get the rust off haha
Carlin I have a question that seems to be overlooked or not taught enough. IF you can, do you think you can make a video explaining how you set up your in ear mix? I know it’s subjective to a degree but I know I can’t be the only one struggling with getting a good balance quickly and consistently from place to place. There are not many videos about IEM mixes from the drummer perspective. And I’m kinda realizing your mix is EVERYTHING.. If you can I’d really be thankful and grateful for it. Much love ✊🏾
Thanks for responding, Carlin! I'm wondering if you know Dana Hawkins from your time at Berklee or from another context. Both of you are among my present favorite drummers. Both so creative, skillful, and tasteful.
Sounds good, Carlin. I appreciate these vlogs. I just picked up a 19" HHX Complex Ozone a few weeks ago and it is beautiful. I plan on getting the regular HHX complex crash soon.
How do you like those cymbal shields ? Do they actually make a difference versus using a full drum shield ? I need some feedback for the drum kit at my church. I really don't like playing behind a shield. I feel like it takes away from the true acoustics of the kit.
the goal is to make the acoustics in your church an enjoyable experience for everyone. If the drums are the loudest thing in the room and the cymbals are bleeding all over the vocal mics then I think a drum shield is needed. At least that’s how I think. I don’t mind the one at my home church. It made the mix in the room so much better because we have a metal ceiling.
Yo! Check out my free drum lessons. I pinned the link in the comments. I break down a lot of stuff! I have lessons here on RUclips in a playlist as well.
Man it’s just random combinations. Paradiddles and double paradiddles moved around the kit. I do have some free lessons pinned to at the top of these comments and some here on RUclips as well.
Man. Practically it’s Relationships and hard work! What I can tell you is that I don’t play to impress people. I play to help people. That’s always my mental and spiritual mindset. I was content not being on a “big gig” as long as I could play and help people feel good.
They just sound great man. They cut through the music and they have great body. Not too bright or too dark. Just right in my opinion. What cymbals do you play?

The cymbal shields are the best thing if you don’t want a full shield. I’m not an engineer so I can’t tell you how well they work honestly.

I love Sabina’s too, but question for you. Is it best to have the lock on for cymbals ?
Hey man which lock are you referring to?
That stack is 🔥
Thanks!
You are playing very good on your new electronic drum set
🤔🤔 lol

what are those warm up chops around the kit? Thanks bro!
Yo! Check out my free drum lessons. I pinned the link in the comments. I break down a lot of stuff! I have lessons here on RUclips in a playlist as well.
The short answer would be paradiddles and double paradiddles orchestrated around around the kit. Hard to explain over RUclips comments though!
mannn whats the sticking to those chops i gotta know

Yep!
the song is “Mighty to Save”!!!
Yep you got it!
To answer your question to what song were you playing on 6:48 - Israel Houghton-Mighty To Save
Yessir! 🛎️🛎️🛎️
Was your kit backlined?
No hat was the church’s kit. Change Church in Atlanta GA
Cool
The song you asked to guess was the reggae version of "Mighty to save" 😅am i right???
Yep! You got it man. Shoot me an email to help@shedtracks.com. You just won my drum course for free!
@@carlinmuccular wow I'm so super honoured!! I really really appreciate it Mr Muccular 😊much luv all the way from Cape Town South Africa sir
Hey bro how high to you have the snare?
It’s at the bottom range of a “high tuning” I’d say. It’s not cranked though. It’s a 6.5x14 maple shell. Pearl Masters. 🔥
How u get on bro?

How did u get famous or how was u Discoverd?
Yeah why do most gospel drummers mostly use Sabian?
They just sound great man. They cut through the music and they have great body. Not too bright or too dark. Just right in my opinion. What cymbals do you play?
@@carlinmuccularI also play Sabian🤣 I was just wondering why almost every gospel drummer out there uses them. Trynna be like y’all doc
Bro that ride is NOT a legacy issa anthology joint 😂 it’s not
Basta de presumir, basta de bateristas , porfavor basta
Agreed! ENOUGH! lol
