@@MatthewHorne88 Problem is that Canada doesn’t have the infrastructure to supply the EU. It needs oil and gas pipelines from Alberta to the Atlantic coast. I understand that, historically, the obstacle has been Quebec that doesn’t want pipelines, preferring instead that tankers sail up the St Lawrence. I really hope Canada will now overcome those objections in the face of an American Putin.

It may come as no surprise that Canada currently lacks a cohesive and functional federal administration.
In this vacuum of leadership, individual provinces have been compelled to engage directly with the United States, seeking their own economic accommodations. Notably, the Premier of Alberta has secured a partial exemption from the recent tariff measures a testament to the shifting nature of North American trade diplomacy.
President Trump’s geopolitical priorities appear increasingly centered on consolidating American influence over the Western Hemisphere and the Pacific domain. Consequently, Europe may find itself relegated to a secondary position in Washington’s strategic calculus. If European powers wish to maintain geopolitical relevance, they must act with urgency to assert their autonomy and reinforce their strategic capacities.
