My late husband and I started our family in Roanoke, bringing our first of three sons into the world. We absolutely loved TT. When we moved away, he missed his Cheesey Westerns so much that I had to do my best to recreate it regularly. He's been gone nearly a year now and our sons are 8, 10, & 12. I'm planning to take a trip to Roanoke with them next spring to show them the star and give them their first taste of the timeless diner that will forever remind me of their father.
About 5 years ago I was waiting for a bus at the greyhound stop down the block. It was 1 am but I was starving. This place was the closest place open, so I walked over. Never forgot the burger, never forgot the atmosphere. Unique.
I’ve taken a few friends to the Tavern. I work late so there’s not many places open when I get off work, but I always love a good ol’ Cheesey Western, served all the way with extra onions.

I worked at the one in Lynchburg for a bit and loved every minute. You are right about a mixed array of people and it interesting to see.
