I'm glad you enjoyed it! The neighborhood around the breweries is very cool. I'd imagine that's a fun place to live. I know reside in Florida, but I'll certainly check out the elevator museum next time I'm passing through Roanoke.
A great video, thank you. The Roanoke Pinball Museum is fabulous. With all the great craft beer in the area, the Lost Coast beer at the beginning if from Eureka California. 🤣 Oh well, still a great job. Thanks for it.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment, Woods Creek. And please forgive me for mistakenly letting that California beer slip into the Roanoke video lol
Super kind comment. I take a lot of pride in my video/editing work. I guess that's the news man in me. I really enjoy Roanoke and the surrounding area. Happy to hear you think I did it justice.
Wow! I so appreciate your kind feedback, Stefan. I will be tackling these travel videos full-time starting in March. I sure hope to build a larger subscriber count as I want to educate people on wondeful locations across the United States and beyond.
I'm happy to hear you enjoyed the video! Roanoke is well worth the visit. The city also has a fantastic mountain biking trail system if that interests you.
Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. I lived in the DMV for 10 years and got down to Roanoke three or four times. I produced this video on my final trip. I now live in Florida, but hope to visit again in the future.
Thanks for taking the time to watch the video and leave a comment. I hope your plans of moving closer to your son have come true or are close to being realized.
Grew up in Roanoke, the place was awesome in the 80s. Not so much anymore, my last visit back there, the city was laced with drugs and homeless people everywhere. I have to visit there as my parents are buried in Blue Ridge but man, I can't believe what's happened to Roanoke. My dad died in Carillion, and my sister was a trauma nurse there. I have lots of roots in Roanoke , Blacksburg, and Moneta.
If you like outdoors stuff, they have a festival there every year called Gofest. It sounds stupid, but every year we have a blast. It's for hiking, biking, climbing, packing, and kayaking. Also, Roanoke is near one of the best sections of the AT. McAfee Knob is probably the most scenic part of the trail in this part of the country. I have family in Roanoke and Salem, but I live near Smith Mountain Lake.
@@RonnieStanley-tc6vi Gofest sounds like something the wife and I will have to go to. It seems like it would be a good place to learn more about other outdoor sports. I am so excited to explore the AT. It is nice to know that we will be near the most scenic parts. I hear Smith Mountain Lake is beautiful and a great place to go if you want to go boating.
So glad you enjoyed watching the video! I had a lot of fun putting it together. I see your comment is from more than one year ago, so I would imagine you have more than settled into Roanoke at this point. I hope it's everything you had hoped for and more.
@@TravelGuy9834 well honestly the downtown area could use some more growth and vibrancy, lots of empty buildings right now, lots of potential. BTW I’m one of those transplants - Buffalo native, and came to Roanoke in 2022 after 27 years in Floriduh.
Actually they are wrong, the "empty" buildings downtown are now apartments and appear as if they are empty but they are not. And it is getting over crowded, thats one part of why there are so many homeless here, the downtown apartments are very expensive and people have come from other states and gotten the cheaper apartments. S.e. Roanoke looks like a garbage dump. This place is awful
Home sick of what? The gangs? Shootings? Murders? Or the dope fiens? Or maybe the homeless that all these so called owners of buildings run off knowing they have no where to go?
@CodyWright-pq3eq thugs, shootings in most every bar, cab company is permanently gone, flea market was shut down, you can't walk down the road without taking a chance on being shot at. The 7-11's and sheetzs on Williamson rd closed down because of the fights and shootings, many motels were torn down. There are many reasons that it's not safe anymore. Oh, and garbage that condones it ^^^^^ like mr wanna be a guitar player makes the place worse
What are you talking about? Do you live in west Virginia cause I can see why you would say that. And its actually one of the best states to live in so that's false.
So many interesting places to visit in this beautiful country. Great compilation from Roanoke KDL 🎊
As a Roanoke resident. This video was very well produced.

I've been to the pinball museum there. There is also a vintage arcade video game museum too.
Very accurate tour of Roanoke and surrounding areas. The video shots, sound quality and editing looks very professional. Well done!

Proud to call Roanoke home!!
Me too
It's a wonderful city that is still somewhat "unfound," which makes visiting all the more enjoyable.
I don't blame you! It's a great spot.
I live in Salem and work in Downtown Roanoke. This is a wonderful video. I love living here!
These videos are awesome! Your subscribers count and view count doesn't reflect the quality. Keep up the great work. I'll be sharing

@@KevinAcrossAmerica I live in FL but thinking about Roanoke since the houses are cheaper up there!

Friends too, what a shame.
How are you droning in a state park? Or at the Star, which is basically right on top of a helipad?
You can fly at the star. 50 ft limit though.
@@DieselDucy Great, so my favorite place to hangout growing up is filled with people droning around. Awesome.
Like video

Sadly Crescent City BBQ and Local Roots are both now out of business.
What a bummer! I really enjoyed both of those restaurants. Any word on what led to both closures?
@@KevinAcrossAmerica No idea why they closed. I could say something political but will refrain from doing it.
I believe in people speaking their mind, so feel free to share your opinions if you care to.
I hear the city is being crowded by people from North Carolina, Pennslyvania, New England, and Florida.
It's being crowded by murderers and dope Feins, STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS CRAP HOLE
Roanoke is a small city, there’s no overcrowding here.

* Second largest Star. The biggest is in Turkmenistan. Google is wrong.
Interesting... I've never heard that before. Thanks for sharing.
I'm home sick.

If you come to Virginia then you need your head checked. This is one of the worst states to live in PERIOD
Then get out. Bye bye now ✌️
You must not ride sport bikes, or kayak. pathetic human
Might I ask why? I'm from there but haven't been back for 37 years, since I was 10. Always was good memories.

The museum of art has been a hated eyesore since they completed it. The D Day memorial is beautiful and worth the trip!
