I worked for Cummins for 6 years. The second you get a 6.7 delete it and throw on an EGR blocker plate and APR head studs
Cummings employee is encouraging breaking the law. Engine so bad you have to commit a crime to make it decent
i have a 2015 fully deleted but all the emissions still intact to the motor just unpluged no blocker plate. 4 inch straight pipe 5 inch exhaust tip. does not having the blocker plate on and all emissions still intact does it affect anything??
Literally first thing I did along with a b.d trans.
Intake: The factory air box flow enough to support over 500 whp. If you're tuned/deleted you don't need an aftermarket one.
Exhaust: Unless you're deleting the DPF/SCR, you're not changing exhaust. If you are there's not much difference between a 4" and 5" aside from the 5" is a pita to fit in there.
Tuning: Avoid box tuners. Get a custom tune. Good luck.
Gauges: You want to at least monitor EGTs. Trans temp is good but most truck have this on the dash already.
Lift pump: The factory pump is fine until you add bigger injectors or CP3.
Valve springs, HD push rods, head studs: If you are running more boost (40+) and higher RPM (3200+) then you need these. Otherwise save your money for the transmission.
Transmission: Weird no one mentioned this... if you have a G56 get a Southbend or Valair clutch. If you have a 68rfe at least upgrade the valve body. If you have the Aisin, sorry there's not much that can be done.
Gears: Ditch the 3.42s and go with 4.10s. If running big tires (37+s) go bigger on gears.
They pretty much just gave advice for kids with daddy's money.
What’s wrong with tune boxes may I ask? Just curious
@@cass8144 Most will adjust fueling to where you see inefficient and sometimes unsafe IATs, EGTs, etc which give low power gains and can cause a head gasket to fail, or if emissions-on your DPF/SCR to clog/fail. The few that don't do this will net you limited gains as compared to a custom tune that has been either tested on many, many trucks before yours or one that is custom tailored for you from data logs. These type of tunes have to be flashed into the ECM. Examples are EfiLive, MM3, EzLynk. They are not a box that plugs into the OBII and "fools" the ECM; they rewrite an entire new tune into it and right now they are hard to find.
Then there's the Bullydog which is kind of in between. It flashes your ECM and it's a box-like tuner. It provides many more tuning options for the end-user than many box tuners but if you don't know what you're doing you can break things. Not a bad option though if you have a 07.5- 09 6.7 and can't find one of the above three but they also are getting hard to find.
@@monsterram6617 so would the Eli live be a good option
@@cass8144 Yes, but just to be clear. EfiLive is a tuning platform. A person still needs to write the tune. If that person doesn't know what their doing you can still have issues.
Sweet another video with Dustin 👍 It's always helpful and funny 😂
I gotta be honest for the 6.7 Cummins and I love all the new parts. And one of the most thing I love about 6.7 Cummins is 2nd gen swap. I wish I could get a 4th or 5th gen Cummins with 68RFE for the driver license.
Would you do video on so you want to build a 5.9 Cummins
We just might!
@@CustomOffsetsTV I would love it whoever is on here
Why they will just tell you the dumbest way to mod it
Ram 3500 6.7 just got done with a 2k mile coast trip 250k on the clock and making north of 500HP......12MPG towing 10K+ empty 16-18MPG city 22+highway
I think gearing is the most under rated upgrade that can be done. The right gears can just about make a truck pop wheelies with 150hp (even if it tops out at 42mph), also with enough gears and gearing, that same 150hp can go 200mph but it may take 20 min to get there
ALSO I see soany guys chasing "stock performance" out of gearing. It's actually possible to re gear for better than stock performance if you know what's going on
Yooo, these animations are are fire
Sickkk video!!
Forgot the biggest upgrade if you wanna make ANY power, transmission 😂
Gotta have that G56 manual 😁 love mine
i believe a few people would be interested in a so you want a 12 valve video
That pretty much covered all of the basic stuff i have on my 13 crew g56. I was looking for more info on internals you kind of had my attention when you said about the new Springs and stuff in the head but i already have the s&b box 5 in tuner and all that other stuff
And superstick trans with dual disc southbend clutch have a triple disc valair but i hated it.
I have a 2015 2500 cummins. Head studs 2 gen swap with S369 turbo kit with coolant tank all from whirly customs. monster ram air in take 5” exhaust with 8” tip. MishiMoto radiator inner cooler and trans temp. BD deep sump with ATS channel plate kit. Air dog 2 165 lift pump with sump Sinister diesel coolant bypass oil bypass and radiator pipe. RaceMe ultra tuning. At 3000+RPM it rolls into so much power so smooth shits Ridiculous total different truck. Yes stock transmission68.
Save your money for a built trans. It's only a matter of time.
Happy Holidays 🇺🇸
Would y’all do a video on so you want a 7.3 ? Please I wanna see what y’all think
Could yall do a video on so you want to build a 7.3 powerstroke.
I just want a truck at this point but instead I’m getting a Camry. Just great
I have no problem towing with my 2008 Dodge Ram 2500 6.7 Cummins
Can you do a video on the two Hemi engines been looking and no one has done one thanks
2018 6.7 with s472 100% over injectors and 12mm cp3
Thinking about going to 462/488 for more smoke free drivability any suggestions
Still waiting for a “So you want a 7.3 Powerstroke”
Was waiting on the "driver to driver!" after 0:48
5:17 lol dudes got that VW tune
Just placed my order for wheels for my duraturd but selected the longer shipping and the thought of them on my truck is driving me nuts can I change the shipping method?
Email sales@customoffsets.com and our team will see what we can do for ya man!
Not a mechanic here. Been told my turbo isn’t healthy. I’m at 188K and want it to run forever and pull its heaviest loads with ease. Oh…with great mileage. I have no idea where to start.
You guys need to do so you want a L5P duramax.
You forgot -
Manifold, turbo, gearing, and the most important for a lot of dodges out there but a FUCKING TRANSMISSION. How did you forget that 😂😂😂😂
Man that door handle on that wrapped truck behind you is killing me it is so off
Pretty sure that was an ipod shuffle
3rd gens are the best none of those faulty electronics just a straight mechanical truck.
Wanted to go with a 6.7 but decided on a 2021 1500 Ram 5.7 L. Couldn't justify getting the 6.7 beings how a don't tow anything frequently enough to get one.
Another option couldve been the new ecodiesel rams, tuned and deleted they can make some decent power
@@TheIamdevin Test drove one and would definitely have to tune it at minimum to get rid of the sluggishness. Great MPG though.
@@Chavez7836 see i had a 19' hemi with an exhaust, intake, wheels tires, level blah blah blah and i really dont find the ecodiesel that much worse than my hemi. Of course on paper its much worse but i actually enjoy the ecodiesel more. Maybe its due to it being a diesel and not having to worry about lifters, cams and manifold studs anymore. But i do plan on deleting it after christmas and really waking it up
I have a deleted 6.7 3rd gen with a cold air intake and a built transmission bc the stock trans will not hold the power added from the tune n delete
You got a shitty tune my guy or a lemon 6.7 either or is try a different tune and look for custom tunes from the code name“maple boys” that say “ya know eh?”
I have a 13 model ram 4500 cab and chassis. The engine only has 140000 miles and it's gone to crap. Is it worth rebuilding?
140k and its done what happened?
@@DIYKAI I'm really not sure. I had the cruise set at 60 and I was pulling my camper. It started running rough so I turned the cruise off and looked in the rear view and seen white smoke. I shut it down asap. All I can figure is an injector went bad. I haven't torn into it yet. But I'm also a little bit scared of finding out what happened. But I don't want this to happen again.
👍👍
Fleece cheetah fleece cheetah fleece cheetah keep that exhaust brake
So you wanna build a 6.0L powerstroke?
7.3 next pls
If we can get it to start, brb 😂😂
Trans is kinda important to lol
Love it but what about a 12v
Yaaaas lm sure well do a video on it
This was like a long infomercial of the big money little hp gain mods. Cold air intake is pointless unless stock is actually restricting you. Yah stock turbo isn't taxing a stock intake. Want cold air? Try buying a bigger turbo and don't waste 500 (half a turbo) on an intake you will need to replace later anyway because it won't fit a bigger turbo. Fass or equivalent on a newer 6.7 is again stupid, the stock pump will take you above 700, I have done it on two trucks now 04 and 05. Air horn lmao is not the restriction on a Cummins, the turbine is along with the valve. Basically if you want to go fast, don't buy anything this guy said unless it's a tuner. Get rid of the parts that destroy your motor, then upgrade your turbo!. If you are an auto truck take out a second mortgage and get a revmax 850, if manual get a Valair street triple. Now you are ready for the big boy mods, Arp 625, Hammy 103 springs, and push rods. Now get yourself a 12mm or dual cp3's and some 150% minimum injectors (because you will go bigger, and buying injectors over and over gets old, I have bought 3 sets now). With a 472 or 476 you will be making some real power, not still playing with box tuners and intake horns.
I want to get a 2011 ram 2500 6.7 with the 6 speed and I'm gonna put the biggest fass fuel system I can get and bigger injectors and compounds so I can roast the tires and other people
Your just gunna roast the headgasket
@@andrewnemecek4898 not if I get head studs
@@andrewnemecek4898 No, he's going to bend connecting rods.
@@austinblevins6804 do headstuds first
@@monsterram6617 I mean the 6.7 bottom end is pretty tough but I don't plan on making more then like 700 hp before upgrading alot of internals
Step 1 don’t go to custom offsets for advice for modifying your 6.7 cummins step two put headstuds in your 6.7 bc every 6.7 owner knows if you even tune a stock truck it blows the headgasket so step 3 is go wild with mods
This is not true at all.
@@monsterram6617 lol I blew mine with just a cheetah turbo and a delete tune
@@andrewnemecek4898 It was your tune. Edit: Btw, adding a bigger turbo wasn't in your first statement. I may agree that hitting 50+ psi on a stock head bolt truck is a bad idea but either way most people who have HG issues are from too much timing from a box tuner. I ran a custom tune from Higher Power Performance for a few years on a bone stock engine with no issues. Plenty of others have too.
@@monsterram6617 lol it was just a stock delete tune told them don’t turn it up just want stock power and just turn off the stuff that fell off from previous owner but right there you admitted just a tune will blow a headgasket
@@andrewnemecek4898 Yes bad tunes blow HGs. Good tuned don't. 😉

Y’all should rate Upchurchs or Outlaws trucks
👀 hmm not a bad idea
@@CustomOffsetsTV hell yeah damn right
this guys idea of cummins build is 500 Omars would be 1000 hahaha
do a video on so you want tp build a 6.4
We did - ruclips.net/video/dEhubq9fQHU/видео.html
I prefer 5.9's
Yooo
“So you want a 7.3 Powerstroke”…👀
The only thing I don't like about diesel and sorry to say this but it's rolling coal I hate when people do that when they are right in front of you and the black smoke gets all over your vehicle and I feel like it's bad for the environment like yes many things are bad for the environment but tons of black smoke like that is just stupid to me
Later I want to build a C10 with a 1000+ HP 12 valve
1000 on a 12 valve is east my guy shoot for 1700 you’ll hang with the big bois in Idaho and utah with gnarly ass 12 valves that smoke anything under the sun
So when are you guys going to build a 5th gen Cummins HO…..You know u want to lol
Delmonico Red Dually? Count me in!! -Dustin
@@CustomOffsetsTV yes definitely that is the sexiest red in the world for trucks
Square body Chev Cummins swap
Day 55 of asking custom offsets for a company dually truck build
air intake and intake manifold do nothing on a stock head, put your money elsewhere.
If you're even thinking of doing push rods/valve springs before dropping 10k into a transmission, you deserve the experience of losing 4/5/6th on the interstate.
